  1. "After the accident and evacuation of passengers by slide, the airline moved in maintenance crews who immediately began work that partly covered up the Thai Airways International logo on the tail of the aircraft. (Photo by Panumas Sanguanwong)"

I dont think we will ever see the end of this ridiculous act of saving face.

It's not an uncommon practice for airlines to do this.

  2. There's a sports shop on Sukhumvit around Soi 11 if I recall.

Last time I was in there they had a few genuine Rugby shirts.

Can you remember if they were thai rugby shirts ?

Sorry, I can't recall. I would assume so, as I got myself a Thai Rugby polo shirt.

  3. Royal Brunei are completely alcohol free.

The airline is, but unless they've changed their policy, you can get the trolly-dollies to put your booze in their fridge and they'll serve it back to you... well, at least from first class.

Interested to know when you flew First Class with Royal Brunei., considering they dropped that class around 8 years ago,

  4. I've used Worldnomads a fewl times after seeing several recommendations on thaivisa.

So far no complaints, and thankfully no claims either.

They offer a small discount to returning customers. There are also various discount codes around which can save you a few baht.

  5. For a National carrier they are a joke. I have no option but to fly RBA short haul and I am still racking my brains to find something positive about them.

In most cases the cabin crew and ground staff are unhelpful and unfriendly, the exceptions being the non locals.

On board catering is lousy and they will often run out of options.

They are dry, but you can bring your own.

Brunei Airport for a layover is one of the worst places possible with very little to do, though it is in the process of being refurbished.

There is also no longer a smoking room in the departure hall.

  6. You could also try Thong Ta Resort for good basic accommodation (5 storey building - but no elevator) - look at them on Trip Advisor.

Seconded. Good clean, friendly place to stay. With free transport to and from the airport.

Thirded. Pick up at the airport from what I remember was at door 4.
