  1. I went to Dr Anna a little over a year for a skin checkup and to have her look at a lesion I had on my leg that is a little bigger than the size of a pea that I had had for a year or two. Dr Anna told me she had never seen anything like it before, and not to worry, it is not cancer. Everyone else who saw it, from friends and family and footmassage ladies were like: What is that? You should get that looked at and removed. Fast Forward to last week when I went to a dermatologist here in the US. She about jumped out of her shoes when she saw it, and instantly said it was Basal Cell skin cancer. She did a biopsy that came back confirming her diagnosis. What happened to me should be subject to malpractice. Diagnosing Basal Cell is about as easy as it gets, and if you are not sure, why not get a biopsy? The doc as well as her assistant here were in complete disbelief that I had this looked at previously with that result. As for me, I have appoinments w a surgeon for Mohrs surgery as well as with a reconstructive surgeon for whatever damage they incur. Needless to say, had I caught this more than a year ago, it likely would have been a lesser procedure. And I actually count myself lucky as the doc here was worried it could have been something worse. Thailand can be a bit of the wild west for medicine, and for those of you with fair skin like me, it would probably be wise to see more than one or two doctors to improve your odds that you see someone skilled enough to detect anything amiss.
  2. I had the AIS 10mbps plan for about 3 years. Well I guess I still have it. It doesn't seem to matter how long I'm gone, when I come back and top-up the plan fires right back up. The speedtest was usually significantly above 10mpbs, sometimes 60-80. It def wasn't speed-capped like some other plans I've had where that needle hits the line you paid for and stays there. Tethered all the time, including for 3 months during covid when the condo i rented charged a stupid amount for wifi. If it was an extra 100b for double the speed tho, I would do that in a heartbeat. You could buy both plans and do speed checks all the time to see if there's really any benefit. Let us know what u find out!
  3. Did my COVID extension in Chiang Rai on the "last day" Jan 25. (Of course it was extended but I had already done the pain of getting TM30, which was not easy in CR!) Showed up at 10am, was the first falang there, 2 others in front. Required TM30 printout, they took the screenshot from my phone and printed it out for me which was nice of them. Not sure why they couldn't look up in the computer. Normal copies of passport, photo, and application. Office was quite polite, friendly, and easy. Seemed happy to have me stick around. "Oh COVID extension, ok!" Received 14 days extra and required to return in two weeks for the full extension. Will be riding around the North on my motorcycle so no problem for me, which is why I picked CR, knowing the 14-day waiting period was possible.
  4. Sounds like CW in BKK is becoming difficult to get the COVID extensions. Are there any places that are known as being easier? What "residence" duration is needed to get the extension in a new area? Just a quick TM30 register from any hotel? I am due to get the COVID extension and am flexible in my travel plans. Seems it might be easier for people to take a little holiday to a more friendly immigration office than mess with BKK. I had my 30 day extension done in Kanchanaburi, which was a nice place to spend a few days and the Immigration office there was not crowded, staffed by some young maybe-english-students that sort of shuffled the process along, and quite easy. If you only need a few nights hotel there to get the extension, it might be worth leaving town.
  5. I just needed a TM30 for my visa renewal in Kanchanaburi. The immigration agent said she needed so see "residence" in the computer to issue the extension. I booked a $10 hotel, checked in, asked them nicely to register me in the computer for immigration purposes. Went back the next day, was in the system as residence in the area, and got extension. So just book a hotel that can do the TM30 for you. Easy!
  6. I use Agoda all the time. I think I know whats going on. Also, to someone who suggested using Booking.com, realize the are the same company. There is also a setting on Agoda to show all fees + taxes. Many of the Agoda hotels are Pay-When-You-Stay. My guess is the OP did not book a pre-paid reservation. When you arrive, the hotel is supposed to tell Agoda that you stayed, and at some point, the hotel has to pay Agoda their commission. If the hotel does not reply to whether the guest stayed or not, then Agoda would not charge anyone. As for how the hotel can keep doing this, this hotel has apparently squeaked thru the cracks. I've had one or two of these "no credit card required" bookings that I made on the wrong day, or I just plain missed, or left early, and there's never been a charge from Agoda. Probably since you complained, they might not be listed anymore. Also, if folks don't mind jumping through a few hoops, if you use Topcashback.com, you can get 6% back on your Agoda and Booking reservations, but you have to use a browser to get it. You can't use the app.
  7. I updated the app last week and can now log in using the Hotstar Disney App and my AIS. There is no Spatial Audio on my iPhone or iPad, however, which is what I really wanted to check out. Disney+ apparently has it in other regions (as well as HBO+ which I haven't been able to get working in Thailand either.)
  8. So looks like those of us with AIS accounts with non-THAI "Apple Accounts" can't actually use our Disney+ subscriptions. Had I paid full price I'd be of course quite angry. I also tried to sign up for Disney+ last yeqr using a VPN and it would never work. It knew where I was. Sad to see that even "knowing where I am in Thailand" it won't work. Although I guess it does work on the browser and the "not working" is just the App I can't download with my particular store. But if they can block you using the browser because of where you are (VPN or not) why limit the App?
  9. Sorry you're confused. Did you try any? that's what we want to know.
  10. Is your App Store (apple account) in Thailand? My App Store is USA based. When I clicked on the link on the web page it took me to the app store and said "this application is not available in your region." I'd rather not setup a separate Apple Account in Thailand just for Disney+ but really want to check out the Spatial Audio! Anyone else had luck or non-luck with the Disney+ App on their iPhone/iPad?
