My daughter has a Phd in counselling phycologisty. Read, writes and speaks Thai, she was raise in Bangkok for 12 years RIS school. Then off to the USA for her BA child development phycology, 2 MS one in research and the other in applied phycology and Phd in counselling phycology. Took 10 yrears Plus 1 year internship at the same time she was finshing last grad study's. She pasted her USA licensing test for all 50 state licensings, and is licensed for Washington and Oregon. Every year comes home for a month and every year and she is asked by major private hospitals like Bumrungrad and Bangkok General move here to work. Saddly she can't her pay is much more in the USA and because her husband job is much more rewarding both in money and path way to the top in his company. Maybe once they retire they may move here. In the USA she does diagnose illness, manager treatment and provide a range of therapies for complex and serious mental illness. The only thing she can not due is prescribe medication, but she can and does recommend to the doctors medication for her patient's.

Our daughter had Thai lesson in best International school back in 1991, but only from 2nd grade till finshing 6th grade, then the school stop Thai as a subjust. We heirded a Thai language teacher to teach her until she was in 11 th grade. She is exceptional Thai read and writing then, now a little rusted after bring in the USA for the 22 years. Shas one BA 2 MA's and Phd, works in the US and comes here one or two times a year. Her Thai is still quit good and she has many Thai friends that can back to Thailand after collage, and work or own their own company. My advice heird a Thai school language teacher, giver her option.

Strange I don’t see any USA person on this subject. US and Thai government’s also single tax law if income is tax in one country the other one does not tax the income. US taxes my pension and 7/8 of my social security payments but not my VA disability income. For as long as I can remember the last 15 years the US government requires all Thai banks to report any money eared in Thailand to the IRS. That’s the reason it’s so hard for a US person to open a bank account in Thailand.

I move to Thailand when my daughter was starting 2nd grade and I just retired from the USAF. Most private schools were high cost even way back then 33 years ago. ISB was out of my range but I could just barely afford RIS. I look for 2 1/2 years for a job; I really needed the extra money. I finely found a real good paying employment the US Embassy, worked they 15 years. My daughter had a real good education which prepared her for collage in the US,10 years of college and four degrees later BS, 2 MS and Phd. She married and lives in the US, has good employment and comes here at least once a year. All but one of my other children from earlier marriage have college degrees. I was the first one in my family to finish college, even though I dropped out of HS and joined the AF, so I believe in higher education in a good Wester college.

How things have change in the 32 years. We were mairred in the USA for 10 before we moved here. All we needed then was US Embassy to stmp the letter of auth and translated the document into Thai. Then to the Thai MFA to stamp it and the to the local Umper for registered in the Thai national marriage register. Used that to exten stay up to one base on marriage. Late change to retirement as it was so much easyer for yearly extensions.

Read all the remarks and nothing really surprised me. As for me, I Married my wife in the USA and was not rich by any means. I promised her I would bring home once I retired. Four months later we were sent to Germany. Now she did not speak much English and I did not know any Thai, and were how living in Germany. My wife went to school on base to learn English. We had a baby girl 1 ½ years after we were married lived in Germany for four years and returned to the States for 1 ½ years and then shipped off to England for six and a half years. I kept my promised, we moved directly to Thailand, did my out processing in England before take three months thermal leave. Now here is the twice to the story we had the lease money and income in the whole family. I looked for almost two years before I found a good job. Work my way up and became one of top the employees and made the 2nd highest yearly income in dollars. I already was receiving my military retirement pay at the age of 49. At 65 I retired and started drawing my monthly SS and after many years finely received my full VA rated 90% disability pay. And we are still at low and of finances, but our income is every month a good income. In short, I married up little did I know that until we moved to Bangkok. I had barrow from the family to finish our home had built before we arrived here, and paid back every baht with interest.

CW has never asked me for a 12 month bank statement, and I just renewed yearly extension in June this year! Retired 800K in Bangkiok Bank never touched it since 2019.

Bangkok Bank is well noted for a case of making up their own rules on the spot and that goes for the HQ Branch Management section as well, a customer can't talk to anyone in that section. I tried 6 days ago. Was told if it's not in the Bangkok Bank's rules book it's the Branch bank manager decision. That was from Customer Service Center Phone # 1333. So much customer service.

Been down loading TM 7 since it place on IMO web page as download form. Fill in on PC and sign in Blue ink, been here 32 years lived in the same house IMO CW.

I have been doing 800,000 Thb at CW since the US Embassy stop giving letters on your income. One or two days before my appointment I just ask for letter to show IMO to prove my account. They make a update of my pass book and gave me a copy of the FIX account and letter stating that this my account and amount is correct. The day of my appointment I do a up and make a copy which shows the current day. Bangkok Bank 39 years with the bank. No copy of any (which would be only yearly interest payment 20 Jan to the account) no other transactions.

I tried Bangkok Hospital 2 weeks ago they had just run out of Pfizer. Check on the 4th May and they sign my wife and me up Moderna new version we get ours 18 May. They told me free because it's the Thai Government supply, but I still think they will have their normal service fees which 500 THB per person.

I did mine on line for the last two + years, before that I mailed it in to CW, now my last report sent 25 April approved 28 April 4 days. Before it average 2 days.

We first installed 3 AC one each for the 3 BR's we were going to be using on the 2nd Fl. All walls are red brick. The the split pack fan unit was mounted about 3" from the ceiling and compressor mounted to cement cross beam that supports the 2nd Fl. . Over the years we have replace 2 of the old AC and added 6 more new units 2 upstairs 4th Br and PC Rm and the rest on the first Fl. living RM, dining RM, TV Rm and in one kitchen. We extended 2 Br's using AAC block and AC Fan units mounted to those new walls, compressor's all mounted to old cross beams, . No problems with any units or walls. Still have one AC from the first three 32 years old and still runs but noesy will be replacing that one when we need that Br.

I have a question about the on line 90 day reporting. I have seen people mention on line auto fill for the TM 47 on line how dose that work. I do on line reporting I log in and the program brings me to the sign in page with my user name and pass word already filled in I click sign in and that brings me to a Blank TM 47 which I fill in and sumit, receive a reply excepit and with in a few days receive approve exciton. But no auto fill. How do i due that?

As some OP’s have said the utility bills electric, phone land line type, TV cable, water all need to been in the name of the owner of the house (if not rented with a contract). But strange things do happen here. All of the utility bills are in my wife’s name only, with the exception of the water bill, has always cams in my name only and has for the last 32 years. Why I do not know. We have the house build on her land that was purchased 5 years before we came to Thailand. It was ready in less than two weeks after we arrived. Telephone was in her sister’s name as back then there was a waiting list for phone service. Electric and TV cable wife’s name but the water in my name and still is, just for info.

I moved to Thailand 31 years ago and moved into moved new house we had build which was just finished. Must have fill out some paper work back then for my staying here? I was retired at age of 49, visa type non - O married to Thai. Never did a 90 reporting and any new TM 30 form for 27 years, did change to retirement at age 55 when IMO told me that she could give me 1 year exhaustion that day if I used retirement instead of married. Four years ago the same lady that I see all these years ( now retired ) ask me for TM-30 and also 90 day report receipt. this was the first time, needed go to different desks get forms filed out and bought her the copies, which is still in my Passport. Then for two years did 90 report by mail then change to on line. Don't know what happen four years ago.

How things have changed in the past 36 years. I open a Bangkok Bank account at the HQ 1986 with out bring in the country. Then over the next 5 years transferred funds to the saving account to build our house. We already had the land which my wife purchase with cash a year before. The new house ( which we paid cash for) was ready for us 1 week after we arrive in Bangkok, been in the same house all these years, made to Western Standers.

I have been using Bangkok IO for 31 years first the office was off Rama 4 then to CW. Had new house build finished 7 day after I arrived, lived there every since. Seams that each year there is something different, new form which is not on Line, sign the papers , don't sign the until in front of them. My IO is CW, since the no letter policy from USA Embassy started I open a FIX Account ( not easy I may said ) my name only. Never had touch. Every year go to local bank 2 days before going to CW, get letter and up book. Go CW do update down stairs get copy from bank, IO never have any questions. I how 843,386.20 Baht balance in the book.

I will be in the same case as above I'm going on short vacation with wife, and daughter and son-in-law visiting from USA. we will be in Hua Hin, 21 - 24 Nov day 15 for day report start on 22 Nov 22 last day is 6 Dec 2022. As I understand you do on-line reporting from any where's at less in the country. been doing on line reporting for more then a year now works fine for me. If I can not due on line report on line I will just mail it by ESM fro post office in Hua Hin.

If in Bangkok you can go 45 days before exp date for O retirement extension of stay , another IMO then there rules.
