I foresee more protests.

It's time Thailand realised that the very wealthy might like to come to Thailand but don't "need" to. All these very expensive offers are a waste of time. Without a reopened border, as it used to be - but easier, Thailand will utterly destroy it's own tourist industry and the attractiveness of the country as a destination. So sad.

I believe that the first step should be for people to have to pass a much more stringent driving test. The actual competence of drivers is, generally, very low...
Of course, the police also need to be both trained and honest too (it's nice to dream)....

It seems that roughly one person in every one thousand actually dies from Covid-19. Of those who die the significant majority are either very old and/or with medical complications or obese. So, tell me, is all this media driven panic truly in the majority best interests or just to increase media viewing and advertising revenue? I regret each and every death BUT is it worth destroying entire national economies and livelihoods for the sake of one person in every thousand?

Personally I think he gets whatever comes if he was being defamatory. He sounds like a mean spirited idiot to me....

If they charge different rates for people just because they are not Thai that is racist and I will not support such stupidity anywhere. So, no golf for me in Thailand....

What he states is correct. But I don't understand what planet he lives on. This is a coronavirus! It WILL eventually be endemic within Thailand and all the current efforts are just postponing the inevitable. Sad but very probably true. So, Thailand will have pushed itself into serious poverty for fear of something that can't be avoided. More mindfulness is required by the political leaders so that they can better understand the reasons they are making bad decisions.

My partner's home is a 4 bedroom, detached house where I could safely self-isolate for 2 or more weeks. That would be fine. But expecting me to pay some over-inflated prices to stay in a hotel is ridiculous, insulting and unnecessary. If anyone in authority reads this please take one minute to consider people such as myself. We don't deserve to be penalised and should be welcomed with open arms. Thank you.

Thailand is being incredibly weak and media driven about Covid-19. They prefer to destroy their economy and sink into national poverty just because a few thousand old, fat and very ill people will die. This is ignoring the vast majority who will not be affected much. Totally out of proportion. Government by media. Such a shameful shambles.

Nigerians seem to be the least liked African people with good reason. Too many foreigners think African people are all the same. They are not. To say people from the Ivory Coast are the same as Nigerians would be like saying Thais are the same as Burmese/Myanmar...

Any steps towards eroding the seemingly racist or xenophobic treatment of foreigners in Thailand is appreciated. Step by step... That's the way to do it! So, stop grumbling. Better late than never.

As a foreigner I wonder if I am alone in my disappointment of the seemingly racist or xenophobic attitudes of so many Thai people. I had hoped to retire in Thailand but with the constant reporting requirements and steadily increasing financial requirements I am thinking that the Thai authorities truly don't want decent, law abiding people like me! So sad...

In other parts of the world this would be called "institutional racism". So sad that this foolishness is allowed.

The blatantly disinterested in expats wanting to live in Thailand and the dual pricing strategy that is verging on racism has led many, such as myself to finally leave Thailand until things get sorted out. I am aware of thousands in the same situation as myself. So, too little too late for many of us.

Definitely not! I like wildlife. Too many people immediately want to kill wild animals from ignorance. Luckily, I am not totally ignorant ????

Stop drinking Red Bull... Simple.

I am sympathetic to the individual.... But riding a motorbike at speed without a helmet turns the rider into a mobile organ donor. Looking at his injury list it looks like he might also have suffered the common injury of a ripped off tackle by the instrument display .... Poor man. At least in Thailand he can swap to being a ladyboy...
Hmmmm.... I guess I am not very sympathetic after all. I've been riding big bikes for 40+ years and seen too many accidents caused by the bikers stupidity. In Thailand 98% of drivers and riders seem utterly imbecilic. So, what should one expect if driving/riding fast?

I am embarrassed on behalf of the Thai Police. They are obviously not embarrassed. But they should be. This whole case seems to be an example of corruption of the most blatant type. Where is the "Anti-Corruption" or "Internal Affairs" police department (s)? Why are police not being arrested for corruption? Truly disgraceful.

It looks to me as if he hit something/one and then hit the central barrier which flipped his bike over and landed on top of him against the barrier. A swift death I hope. Poor man. Karma? Perhaps. But definitely another example of there being too many unnecessary hazards on Thai roads. ... I hate driving at night in Thailand.

Having seen the photograph of the motorbike embedded in the front of the Ferrari it seems clear that zero forensic testing was undertaken to determine how much faster the Ferrari was moving than the motorbike to enable that degree of embedding. As a layman I would think that the Ferrari must have been traveling at least 100kph faster than the motorcycle. So, if the motorcycle was traveling at a modest speed of 40kph that means the Ferrari must have been traveling at 140kph.
Perhaps Ferrari would be happy to provide their own crash testing photos to demonstrate what speed differential would have been necessary to enable so much damage to the Ferrari?
But, as I said before, until the Thai police respect Thai laws then cases such as this will never achieve justice. Shame on the police!
-
It is embarrassing how many foreigners disrespect Thai culture and laws but are then able to buy their way out. Shame on the Thai for letting this happen again and again. The Thai police need to start respecting their own culture and laws. Then they might get more respect from disrespectful people.

I wish the world had been as fortunate as Thailand in avoiding the spread of Covid-19. Having said that, I believe that there is over-reaction to a few cases. Thailand should, in my opinion, look to see how it might be possible to create "safe corridors" for visiting tourists to stay in designated resorts and hotels. Thailand is losing too much income because of a virus that is not going to go away! So, are the restrictions going to remain for another year? That would be financial madness...

Nearly 6,000 Covid-19 cases in less than a month

Big deal... Not. Covid is the new global reality. like every other country in the world Thailand will get Covid throughout the entire population. It is just a matter of time. the advantage the Thai have is that they are typically slimmer and younger than their European and North American counterparts. If under 60 years of age and with no other health issues to increase vulnerability then they have nothing to worry about.
