It's a problem if it could lead to an increase in infections. If they live together, then it's not really going to increase anything. If they live separately then someone in the group could be infected, he/she could infect the other five members of the group, they could in turn infect multiple people each. If this happens enough then you have incontrollable spread. The members of the group could change also, so you have no idea how many people would actually be at risk. And, of course, if this group was allowed to do it, then others would do it too.
Public gatherings are not allowed for this reason.
????♀️ you can’t actually believe this nonsense. Literally no one that is wealthy or educated is even remotely concerned about covid. We have massive yacht parties in Phuket every weekend. Many US billionaires and Thai officials are regulars. Nobody wears a mask. Nobody cares about covid. None of us are vaccinated. And guess what, there is not a single thing anyone can do about it…because all the most powerful people in Thailand are literally hanging out with us. Wake up folks.

Some people here just think that laws don't matter and you can do whatever you feel like doing. You see it in lots of posts on various forums, where this kind of behavior is almost admired by some. Thailand is not a free for all State, some need to learn that fact. This lot did.
LMAO, that entire raid was staged for obvious reasons. <deleted> so many people on this site either a) don’t live in Thailand or b) are completely clueless as to how things work here.

This guy is digging his own grave, how to stir up the masses.............?
No he’s not lol. Dude is chilling. Covid was designed to create a permanent slave class. It’s basically an indirect global eugenics program to weed out the physically and mentally weak / make them totally reliant on an authoritarian government. This is happening on a global scale but it is particularly exaggerated in Thailand. Thailand’s leadership absolutely loves covid and I don’t see them letting it end anytime soon. Similar tactics are used in North Korea, basically the goal is to keep the population starving, sick, confused, and poor so that they’re so focused on basic survival that they have no energy to revolt. Covid is like a dream come true for the Thai government are they are absolutely milking it for as long as they can.
I am part of the elite and let me tell you, the last 1.5 years have been the most profitable years in my entire life. My net worth has gone up 300x. I’ve made so much money in a little under 2 years, I’m at a point where I could seriously contemplate buying a very large portion of Phuket and have all my American friends come in and completely rebuild it. Yes, that’s how well covid has treated me financially. And I’m definitely thinking of just buying out the island of Samui as well.
The 1% are getting richer and richer the longer covid drags on, meanwhile everyone else is suffering. The poor and uneducated do not understand what is happening to them and easily fall for false fear narratives and propaganda designed to keep them stuck. Believe me folks, getting the vaccine should be the least of your concerns.
If you’re not part of the 1%, there is only one way out of this mess for you. It’s cryptocurrency. Buy BTC and ETH like your life depends on it because it absolutely does. Good luck.

Morons! Who in their right mind is travelling around as tourists in Thailand during a widespread pandemic.
Seems to me like they have greatly overestimated the benefits of yoga. Looks like it alters the brain function in a very negative and embarrassing way.

You obviously don’t live here. 60% of restaurants serve alcohol in plastic cups and have since the alcohol bans started last year. Any restaurant that isn’t serving doesn’t have connections. Restaurants are delivering alcohol as well. Just ordered a keg from Rawaii and had it delivered in the north at 2:30pm ????.

And a "wealth" of 104 million baht is something for the news because of what? There are many persons in Thailand with that amount. Nothing to lift any eye brows over. Just let the guy be.
Exactly. 104 million baht is a tiny amount for someone that age and in that line of work. Standard networth for a retired Thai police chief is closer to 1 billion baht. This guy is definitely not reporting everything he has and for good reason.

What a bunch of BS!
The property market is dead as a doornail in Thailand and will be long after the pandemic is over I'm afraid.
People have seen what something like this does to a market. You would have trouble giving a condo away right now.
It’s dead but you still need to be blazing fast to get any sort of deal in Phuket. The Chinese have started showing up recently with suitcases filled with cash to launder. I got outbid on some beach front land for 200 million baht. Chinese buyer came in at the last minute and offered 50 million baht over asking.
99% of the property in Phuket is laundered money, hence why no one is in a rush to sell or reduce prices. I’ve snagged some insane deals over the last year here but you need to move fast.

Nope. He will never do time. Zero chance. Bribes will be paid, this will quickly be forgotten, and he will be back to business as usual. Likely will attract other criminals and become exponentially wealthier. There is no such thing as bad publicity in Thailand. A year of dealing the disclosed drugs in Thailand would have likely netted this guy north of $40 million USD + in profit. He will be able to swiftly pay off whoever he needs to. To think otherwise is delusional. It’s a fantasy to think this guy will end up in the monkey house long term. He’s already proved he’s too valuable and local authorities will have taken notice and likely partner with/ take him under their wing.

Excellent news for anyone getting paid in USD from US companies that don’t care where you live ( vast majority of US companies post-covid. Learn to code folks!! ). Bad news for everyone else. Buy BTC and ETH now. Non-usd fiat will be worthless within five years. BTC is literally the only protection people have.
Here’s to hoping we see 60 baht / USD. I will go from Viceroy to God if true. Fingers crossed ????

I think you might spend too much time on Thai Visa.
What xenophobia? Sure, there is a small group of hi-so Thais that would prefer farang be banned from Thailand. But this isn’t so much xenophobia as it is elitism. It’s not about race or nationality, it’s about wealth. There are just as many elitists like this in Spain and in the US and in every country on Earth!! At least the Thais don’t try to hide it!! Reality is that 99% of Thais love foreigners. You, as a white male from the most powerful country in the world, should be particularly aware of this. Give me a break about xenophobia lmao.
As for corruption, Thailand has always been corrupt. That is quite literally the appeal of Thailand! It’s the lack of rules, the fun that comes from the lack of rules, the sense of freedom, and the fact that you know you can always bribe your way out of trouble no matter what you do that is one of the major selling points of this country. Particularly for those that come from rigid Western societies like the US that are laden with rules and laws and governments that spy on them. The day Thailand stops being corrupt is the day that everyone leaves because it will no longer be fun. Fun is literally the main reason expats move here. Otherwise, given that you’re from the US, why on Earth did you not just retire with your Thai wife in Hawaii? The US has amazing places for retirement and is generally an awesome country so it really makes no sense that you would come all the way to Thailand and then become disenchanted with it because it’s not a woke democracy that is forced to be politically correct all the time.
And let’s be honest, what has actually changed in Thailand since covid for retirees that are married? You obviously aren’t hanging out at the bars given that you’re married right? So what’s actually different here? You literally have empty beaches to enjoy all to yourself. You are now an extremely valued customer everywhere you go due to lack of tourists. Property has taken swan dive in value to the point where beach front mansions are now affordable. Thailand has upped its online delivery game in a big way where you can just have kegs and crates of wine doorstep delivered. All the local farmers and fishermen are selling direct to customer so fresh organic produce and fish has never been cheaper. You have the entire country to yourself pretty much.
Thailand post-covid is like paradise for retirees that are married. I honestly don’t know what more you could want but I suspect your problems are mostly internal and that you won’t find happiness whenever you go.
I recommend mediation daily and to dig a bit deeper as to what is truly bothering you. Thailand remains awesome in my books. US is also awesome so I would check out Hawaii if you’re over Thailand. Spain sucks tbh.- 4

The Beverly Hills of Phuket is Laguna. You will fit in there. All the crypto billionaires and wealthy American expats live there. Steve Jobs’ mentor lives in Laguna part-time. Many celebrities live / have homes here actually. Barak Obama has a place in Naithon Beach at Mailawana for example.

We all have different points of view with regards to events here and how they affect us, however I used to find the posts such as, "if you don't like it why don't you go home" and "if it is so bad what are you doing here" type comments as unnecessary. Surely everyone has the right to comment on how they see the town in which they live and the things which affect them, and many times if it's a negative, it's purely because what could have been done to make the place better, simply hasn't.
Examples and instances of this abound from the beach fiasco to the overbuilding to the far too many tuk tuks and so on. Then of course there is the changing demographics and the TAT push into the Chinese market and all that this brings with it, debated by many and generally seen as a negative.
On that point I don't know if it's going to change any time soon as I was talking to a couple of guys in the real estate business and there are some of the "wealthier" Chinese buying apartments/condos here. There is a development which is offering a 7% return on the initial investment for 15 years, with the only proviso being that once the unit is bought it is allowed to be rented out and the owner only gets one month occupancy a year, so it sounds very much like the old timeshare model or indeed fractional ownership.
Having said that this particular development seems to be doing quite well along those lines although I'm not sure that I would "trust" the promises made of the returns and the fact that on one website these places are advertised with a "30+30+30 year lease".
Anyway, I digress, however I welcome you starting this thread and I had thought about doing something similar myself with a heading which would allow just about everything to be discussed, from infrastructure to corruption, to nightlife, to events, to property to low and high seasons etc, however perhaps your heading/thread can encompass this?
Who on earth would buy a condo in Phuket as an investment when you have Bitcoin and Ethereum? It literally makes no sense. I mean, I know that most of the property in Phuket is for money laundering purposes but it just doesn’t make sense to launder your money though property anymore. LMFAO at a 7% return. I make that per day just trading cryptocurrency. I would be very surprised if the Chinese and Russians continue to launder their money in Phuket moving forward. NFTs are easier and the ROI is ridiculous. Property as an investment is generally dying and will soon be replaced by digital property which is Bitcoin etc…

At the end this will affect the elite, people got less cash now to spend in the elite owned seven-elevens, Big C's, Centrals etc.
No, it won’t affect the elites at all. They will continue to prosper. The elites all own US stock, crypto and foreign property. With no signs that the money printing will slow, inflation will continue to get hidden in equities and real estate. BTC will be well over $500,000 by 2025 and the Nasdaq north of 20k. Anyone that doesn’t hold US tech equities + cryptocurrency is in deep trouble moving forward. The elites know this and have been loading up. Fiat will be worthless soon so the poor will get double cucked unfortunately.

2 hours ago, inThailand said:You don't live here or were here last year when they locked us down with no booze sales? History will repeat its self.
Lmao about no booze sales. The question is, do you actually live here? Duty free Booze has been readily available via third party sellers on Facebook that smuggle it in and via Wishbeer throughout the entirety of covid. I literally was ordering full pallets of wine and kegs of beer off Facebook and Wish and having them delivered to my house in Phuket from Bangkok ( free delivery too ). Whenever they “ban alcohol” in Thailand, you can also just order Grab food delivery and have the Grab guy go buy wine at Central or beer at 711. You just pay him cash outside of Grab + a little tip. And tbh, most restaurants in Phuket never stopped serving alcohol. You just need to know how to ask. They serve it to you in foam cups.
I swear a lot of people on here don’t actually live in Thailand. If you think it’s difficult to get alcohol in Thailand…yikes.
Honestly, covid has upped Thailand’s online delivery game in a big way. I literally just do everything online now and have it delivered for a few baht. It’s also great because all the farms and fisherman have moved to Facebook too. So you can order fresh produce and ocean catch directly from the source at like an 80% discount. I now have this local fisherman, he just goes out in the ocean every morning and catches me Jumbo Tiger Prawn and sea bass daily. 500 baht for 1kg of Tiger Prawn. Would cost 2500 baht at Central and 4000 baht at a Phuket eatery.
And I’m ordering fresh organic produce online directly from the farmers in Krabi and they deliver it to me every two days. It’s so insanely cheap compared to buying organic from Central or Villa. I’m like buying 10kg organic veggies a week for 2000 baht or something. It’s pennies compared to store bought ( prob 20,000 baht for 10kg ). And the store bought isn’t even fresh.
Seems like those that aren’t tech savvy and don’t understand how to use online shopping are missing out in a big way. But I mean…alcohol has never been difficult to get here. Never.

Oh please. Look at the sandbox. I'd be more worried about being an international traveller coming here and getting covid.
The only people worried about covid are old and uneducated people. My buddies in the US have been traveling all over the world since last August. They were in Brazil , Argentina, then went back to NYC, then Ukraine, Turkey, and now in Paris, France. They desperately want to come to Thailand, especially now that everything is half off. All my friends want to come and buy property. Like for example, I scooped up a 650 sqm pad in Layan that has an ocean view and 1 min walk from beach for $600k. Last year, this was going for $2.5 milly. I think you’d be surprised by all the people that would love to come to Thailand just to buy the real estate dip. The only thing holding them back is the absolutely ridiculous quarantine rules. They’re not even remotely afraid of covid and only got the vaccine because they had no choice for travel. They didn’t have the vaccine when in South America and when they entered back into the US, US dgaf lmao ????

I,m saying BS to this.....
It’s not BS. We’ve been surprised to see a lot of Americans in Phuket already. Also, a massive number of Saudis and Turkish, at least in the Laguna area. These are tourists, not people that live here. You can just tell by how they act and dress.
That said, most of Phuket is not profiting from these tourists. My wife and I continue to be the only people on most beaches and the only people in most restaurants.
It would be very wise for Thailand to target American tourists moving forward. The vast majority of Americans are swimming in money thanks to covid. Almost everyone’s 401k has gone up 100% and most Americans also have Bitcoin. Not to mention tourism in the US is booming because everyone is traveling there to get the vaccines. The US is just raking in the money right now. Like it’s raining cash in the US. My parents said they’ve never seen this many tourists in the US, EVER. Everything is packed, massive lines everywhere, everyone in the US getting stupid rich right now. Thailand should do everything to bring in some of this cha Ching change $$$

Strange, I’ve always felt treated like a God here. Everywhere I go, I have women telling me I look like Brad Pitt and trying to sleep with me. The Thais have always treated me like I’m sort of celebrity when I’m not. No money required to be treated well, just good looks. Many wealthy Thai women have offered to pay me to sleep with them. Im married now but it was fun back when I was single. I guess everyone’s experience is different. Definitely have never felt like a second class citizen in Thailand though.

No, its the Sinovac that doesn't work.
mRNA vaccines are very effective against the Delta variant.
Moderna will only be available to the private hospitals and smart people who paid in advance.
Dude, literally just fly to the US tomorrow and go get the vaccine for free. Everyone I know that wants the vaccine in Thailand has already flown to the US to get it. If you’re really that scared of covid, what’s a few thousands bucks to go to the US and save your life? Treat it as vacation, the US is awesome.
I’m personally not interested in getting the vaccine as the creator of the vaccine recently advised against young people getting it as we don’t know the long term side effects. For example, many believe mRNA vaccines will increase your odds of getting cancer later on in life. Too many unknowns for anyone under 50 to risk getting vaccinated.

Stepping up efforts, under consideration. JUST ORDER THE ******* JABS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why would they though?
Is it not obvious what the agenda here is? I would say that a large portion of Thailand and the Western world would like to see certain folks out of power.
“In addition, US pharmaceutical companies are said to have walked away from Thailand rather than contravene the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.”You honestly think US Pharma has backed out of Thailand because of corruption worries? US Pharma is literally the most corrupt entity on earth and only cares about one thing: $$$.
Making the current administration appear as incompetent as possible via covid is the main goal here. Even if it’s a mostly accurate description, why would those in power cave to the wants of Western society, particularly when they have China to bully back?? They wouldn’t.
This whole thing was never about covid and never has been. Covid is political chess and has been since day 1. I seriously doubt we will get vaccines anytime soon. The US and Europe will need to offer more than China is offering before the Thais play ball.

Sad, but true.
How long will foreigners (except migrant workers from neighbouring countries, who are already getting vaccinated), living in Thailand, will have to wait? Until 2023 or 2024?
There are many Thais that would happily forfeit their place in the "vaccine line" to wanting foreigners. My wife and I were both educated at Stanford University in the USA and want nothing to do with the vaccine. I would get it if forced but my wife, who is Thai ( IQ 200+++) , would rather die than get the jab. The Thai government should set something up so that Thai citizens can transfer their right to vaccination to anyone that wants it regardless of where they come from.
