King would have had nothing to do with the BLM Marxists- he was a republican. Trump has done more for blacks than even Obama did, far more.

Do you mean that he was a big "R" Republican or a small "r" republican? Because if you're asserting that King was a supporter of the Republican Party, that's just nuts. In 1964 he denounced the Presidential candidacy of Barry Goldwater who had voted against the Civil Rights Bill.

Are you saying the US is a racist country? If so, than yes, you are confused.
What you are getting wrong, is you believe what the media tells you is always fact...Well, hate to burst your bubble, but it’s not always fact. Very often it’s poor information or manipulated information. Check out the “entire George Floyd video” then make your assessment on that case.

As a 58 year old American citizen, I ca assure you, the US is not a racist country!

And you can take Yasobill's word as holy writ because he has been deputized by every American citizen to attest to this basic truth. Not one American citizen disagrees with him.

And you are to disregard the lies perpetrated by studies such as this:

Police stop fewer black drivers at night when a 'veil of darkness' obscures their race

"Study also finds that when drivers were pulled over, officers searched the cars of blacks and Hispanics more often than whites

The largest-ever study of alleged racial profiling during traffic stops has found that blacks, who are pulled over more frequently than whites by day, are much less likely to be stopped after sunset, when "a veil of darkness" masks their race.

That is one of several examples of systematic bias that emerged from a five-year study that analyzed 95 million traffic stop records, filed by officers with 21 state patrol agencies and 35 municipal police forces from 2011 to 2018."

I've sure some of the Tulsa attendees may have died since June, but what did they die of? The virus and where did they contract it?

I don't have a dog [pardon the expression] in this fight, but for America's sake (AFAIC - and a lot of other people as well), its time Prof. Lichtman had have his first erroneous "guess".

Ref. HERE for a WPR Lichtman article containing this:

"Allan Lichtman: Based upon my 13 keys to the White House, which gauge the strength and fulfillment of the party holding the White House, it takes six negative keys to predict their defeat. That would be Donald Trump and the Republicans. In late 2019, Trump only had four negative keys.

But his failed response to many crises that have arisen in 2020 has resulted in the most sudden and dramatic reversal of fortune in the history of the U.S. In the matter of a few months, three more keys have turned against the incumbent Trump. With seven negative keys against him, Trump is a predicted loser in his bid for reelection in November."

What crises has he "failed response [sic]" to? Are you counting the craziness in many Democratic-run cities resulting in arson, looting and murder? I hope the American people will see where the real responsibilities of these crises lie.

It's still two months until the election. Are they trying to set up a self-fulfilling prophecy? The Democrats and MSM have been throwing everything but the kitchen sink (mainly lies and hoaxes) at Trump since even before he was legitimately elected. Still I'm just a remote and relatively objective observer [I believe] of this potential American political train wreck.

Unconstitutional? Not even the Supreme Court endorses that point of view. It's well established law that in the midst of a genuine emergency the government can invoke extraordinary restrictions to protect the citizenry.

And I have to admire your doublethink. The opinion of a professor you like counts as evidence. The opinion of one with a better track record, not so much. I particularly enjoyed your assertion that Norpoth correctly predicted 25 out of the 27 past elections. Do you understand that most of his "predictions" were about elections that already happened? Quite a feat that, predicting the past.

As for claims to being more objective because you're allegedly not a US citizen, please. If your contention about your lack of US citizenship and consequent greater objectivity were valid, that would mean that all foreigners' opinions would be more objective. Have you taken a look at the international polls lately regarding how favorably, or, rather, unfavorably non-US citizens regard Trump? In other words, your contention about your objectivity is nonsense.

What? You would really rather try to insult me and make a fool of yourself on this forum rather than simply follow the link I provided in my comment?

So you think it requires a gun to constitute a "real assault" as you put it? Many people have seriously injured or killed by being "sucker punched" and any number of non-firearm-related assaults such as knifings, baseball bat beatings, you name it. You should be aware by now that these so-called protests carry with them violent antifa and anarchists that have been known to attack and injure and kill. Rand Paul was not safe and he was smart enough to realize this and seek police protection. Jeesh!

The 17 yo, Kyle Rittenhouse, in Kenosha, WI (yes, another link) killed with his rifle an assaulter who was using a skateboard as a weapon. This is well-video-documented, recent attack. The advice has been "Don't take a skateboard to a rifle fight". Kyle also killed another and shot an assaulter in the bicep who was about to shoot him with a semi-automatic pistol. Kyle will probably get off pleading self-defense.

Again, follow the link and read all the various types of assaults.

So, that's how it happened, is it? Hmmm...

"Gitting, in an interview with CNN published Friday, said she watched her 26-year-old boyfriend run toward the gunman, armed only with a skateboard, in the moments after he shot Rosenbaum.

Rosenbaum, who was unarmed, was the first to attempt to take Rittenhouse’s AR-15, prompting the gunman to fire off four shots. In a phone call placed immediately after, he said he “just killed somebody” and took off running, according to a criminal complaint."

And it doesn't mean it did not either.  Just like on Willie Wonka and the Chocolate factory only the 5 kids were spoken to by Arthur Slugworth, who really wasn't Slugworth.  Oh who to believe, just get the stupid election <deleted> done and over with and move on as a country.  Just destroying it from within the borders without any help from outside, both parties and all the hatred over what?  yes, lining someone's pockets like the Democrats before this now President who went into office poor but came out rich.

What we know about Obama is that he earned his money from his salary as president and from book sales for a book written before he was president. He put all his money into treasury bonds. He vigorously supported the Fed when they lowered the interest on bonds to virtually 0 percent. We know this because Barack Obama didn't hide his tax returns.

Donald Trump on the other hand, has kept control of his businesses and has refused to release his tax returns.

He has no agenda and no class to hold a proper dialogue during the campaign, the only thing he knows how to do is to scream and insult anyone not agreeing with him

Now prove Trump is giving instructions for the unrest, more than folks attending a rally.

"President Trump encouraged protesters in Minnesota, Michigan and Virginia who are defying social distancing orders to rally against the states’ safety measures intended to stop the coronavirus spread.

In back-to-back tweets Friday morning, Trump wrote: “LIBERATE MINNESOTA” and then, “LIBERATE MICHIGAN” and then, “LIBERATE VIRGINIA, and save your great 2nd Amendment!...”

It’s unclear why Trump seems to be siding with the protesters given that the states in question have imposed restrictions that follow the recommendations laid out by Trump’s White House coronavirus task force last month that go by the name “The President’s Coronavirus Guidelines For America.”

Democrats are very good at violence and hate.  Economic management has never really been their thing.  Just more taxes and spending other people's money.  Same with socialist parties all over the globe.

You know when the national debt began to zoom up? Under Ronald Reagan. He promised his big fat tax cuts would pay for themselves by stimulating the economy. How did that work out? Let me give you a hint: big budget deficits followed. Then Bill Clinton, the irresponsible Democrat, came along and raised taxes on the wealthy. Republicans claimed those higher taxes would sabotage the economy. Instead the economy performed very well. By the end of Clinton's 2nd term the budget was balanced. Then came George W. Bush and, like Reagan, Bush slashed taxes on the wealthy. He promised his tax cuts would pay for themselves by stimulating the economy. Instead budget deficits zoomed upwards. George Bush did leave Obama the worst recession since the Great Depression.  When Donald Trump came into office deficits were rapidly declining and the economy was motoring along. What did Trump do? Like Reagan and Bush, he slashed taxes on the rich and promised that the cuts would pay for them themselves by stimulating the economy. Instead deficits zoomed upwards again. Republicans have consistently lied about how tax cuts would pay for themselves and not result in increasing deficits. How many times do they have to lie before you finally face reality?

The Democrats are standing in his way.  Maybe not for long as their polling numbers are being affected and they have to adjust their strategy (values).

How exactly are they standing in his way? Trump claims the authority to send in forces wherever he pleases. If this is the dire situation that he claims it is what's stopping him?

Yes, the only masks were for Covid.  LOL  Whatever, Sujo.

Just because Trump demonstrators are mostly so misguided by Trump so as not to wear masks, that doesn't apply to those who might not admire him so much. Tell me, did those masks cover their entire faces including the eyes? Or just from the nose down? That might give you a hint as to what those masks were for.

You can blame it on the Dems and their media bullhorns.  For 4 years the Dems, the MSM, liberals and Rhino Republicans have been inflaming the hatred towards Trump and his supporters.  Are you suggesting that that has not been a major cause of dividing America?  Don't try and kid me.

Wasn't it Donald Trump who called some Republicans who opposed him "human scum"?

Your comment is about as ignorant as the Reuters article which stated "without evidence".

That's what you do an investigation for - to find out the facts. Did you expect Paul and wife to collect information (evidence) while they were being mobbed. Perhaps they should have conducted interviews?

Topdeadsenter's question assumed that someone was paying for it. I simply asked him how he knew that. How exactly does that constitute an ignorant question?

    Barr's quote: ". . . Antifa like tactics . . ."  He didn't mention any radical group by name.

Also, because the FBI found no evidence doesn't mean there is no evidence.  They simply haven't found any to date.  Given that Wray heads up the FBI I'm not at all surprised.

"Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence," said Donald Rumsfeld in the runup to the Iraq War. Or, as the Queen of Hearts said in Alice in Wonderland "Sentence first - verdict afterwards."

American Military News (reliable per Media Bias Fact Check) - AG Barr: Nationwide protests organized, ‘hijacked by violent radicals like Antifa’

“The voices of peaceful protests are being hijacked by violent radical elements. Groups of outside radicals and agitators are exploiting the situation to pursue their own separate and violent agenda,” Barr said from the Department of Justice. “In many places, it appears the violence is planned, organized and driven by anarchic, far-left extremist groups using Antifa like tactics, many of whom travel from outside the state to promote the violence.”

Let's all pretend that these are all grass roots events.  LOL

To accept this assertion as true, we'd have to pretend that it wasn't William Barr who said it. He's the guy who's been reproached by a judge for lying.

Good, the last thing countries need is to introduce fresh blanket lockdowns, the worlds economies are sunk as it is and the effects disastrous. New infections are now being driven by young people who have strong immune systems are are able to cope well with covid. Deaths in France are still minuscule, yes there's a lag but its clear as witnessed from other countries with a resurgence that the death rate is very small and not worth the toll of repeated devastating lockdowns.

It does seem that the resurgence of Covid infections in Europe so far has not resulted in many fatalities even taking into account lag time. Would that were the case in the USA where Donald Trump and company pushed for reopening way too early.
