  1. By the way, how would I be able to tell if I have data roaming or another type of roaming?
  2. Yes, the app works fine now, and I am such a dinasoar when it comes to IT that I'm scared to uninstall and reinstall...something will go wrong for sure. Thank you Upnotover.
  3. I cannot remember whether I installed the app on wifi or on a data connection. I think it's better to uninstall and reconnect using data.
  4. I am going to UK very soon at short notice, and when I am there I will need to use the SCB app on my smartphone. I have been told that it's possible if I use the phone with my Thai AIS pre paid SIM card. That throws up some questions from me: I assume that I will need to have credit on my SIM. Should I top up before I go, and if so how much is recommended? I'm guessing that my use of the app will be about 10 minutes. Do I need to have Roaming enabled? Any other recommendations please.
  5. Member 200 Posted 27 minutes ago I have been using Fascino regularly for over 10 years and used a Gold card for much of that time which gave me points on every purchase. I was able at times to convert those points to cash and use against purchases. However last September I asked the pharmacy assistant how much credit I had accrued and she pointed me to a sign on the counter which stated that the points system would be discontinued until 2024 but that the current accrued points would be still valid upon resumption of the service. I have continued to shop there and accrued a new set of points which started at zero in September. Now it's 2024 I've asked again at the counter if I could use my points for a purchase and was told that the company had not informed the staff about recommencing and I still could not use my points. She told me that she did not know when the points would be available again....maybe October/November! I did not accept this and asked her to enquire with her head office. Upon my request she just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. I will not accept this behaviour and stood at the counter until she returned whereupon I asked her for the email for head office which she grudgingly wrote down for me. Back home I have emailed Fascino but although I see that the email has been opened I have received no reply. Fortunately I have retained all my receipts which give a total of points accrued and unless I get a reply to my email within a couple of days I shall take all the receipts to the Pattaya main branch on Pattaya Nua to see if I can get some action. Unfortunately, as many expats here will know, receipts fade with time and some are barely legible now. Has anybody had a similar experience and can give me some (constructive) advice on how to proceed? Further to this post I found Fascino on Line and sent a message which was replied to stating that the usage of points as a discount is still not feasible due to ongoing maintenance of their sales system. A nice reply but not helpful. should I be surprised? Nah!!! If there were another pharmacy similar to Fascino I would use it.

  7. Don't mess about with you health. Go and see a specialist. I would recommend highly Rutnin Eye Hospital, and in particular, Dr. Jutarat. Inexpensive and also a very attractive lady.
  8. Good information. I think I'll ask Nord for this option when my subscription is due.
  9. I have used Nord for about 6 months for exactly the same reason as the OP. When I first started with it I connected to UK and Nord gave me one of their London servers which worked ok, but as time went by I started to get the William Hill message about using a Data Centre. I then had multiple similar issues. I had to keep refreshing the London server location to get the server which William Hill would not detect. I resolved to change my VPN but had subscribed for a year. At some point about 3 weeks ago I decided to try Nord's server in other cities in UK and eventually landed on Edinburgh. That has been stable since then and now I don't have any issues. How long that will last I don't know but I'm crossing my fingers. To the OP..will Surfshark allow you to select different servers within the UK? If so, try the others until you find one that works. Edinburgh might be a good location for you. Best of luck with that and good luck beating William Hill.
  10. In Jomtien...there's a lady with sewing machine on soi 7 next to a pharmacy. This is about 3/4 way up soi 7 from Beach Road on lhs.
  11. If you use a vpn to access William Hill UK betting website and have no problems with it, can you please recommend it to me, and others? I have been using Nord vpn an it's so hard to use, eg I have to uninstall and re-install every day. Otherwise William Hill displays a page which says that I am using a Data Centre to access the website and I have to try a work around like uninstalling and re-installing. I would love to know which vpn works well with William Hill UK site. Thanks in advance, thoengthaied.
  12. I also cannot get the Natwest app here in Thailand. I've been using their website and have a UK Giffgaff SIM card for when they send me an sms. One day they will change the way I have to log in and at that time I'll politely tell them where to go. Security is all well and good but there are limits, certainly for me at my age, and I'm getting to the end of my tether with it all now. I seem to be spending half my life at my computer trying to put all aspects of technology into place. It would be nice if there were instruction manuals but tech companies just expect you to know how to get their websites/apps to work. This morning I've spent 2 hours trying to get Nord vpn to work. It seems that I have to reset it every morning, and it's complicated. My computer will eventually land in my downstairs neighbour's garden. I feel that bad day will soon be here! Perhaps that will be a GOOD day.
  13. I hope Thailand will buy lots more of these subs and also pay over the odds for them. Then maybe the Thai economy and the Thai baht will devalue. My UK pension will then increase in value and buy more baht.
  14. I think you should OF asked an intelligent friend to proof read your comments here before posting and showing your ignorance.
  15. I suggest Pattaya City Hospital. They had been doing the jabs on Friday mornings at least up until April when I got my last one there.
  16. Hello OneMoreFarang, I have been using those phones for many years. I started with a Pocophone which I had for maybe 6 years then about 4 years ago I bought a Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro Zoom which I am using to this day. I can't remember why, but about 2 years ago I decided that I would like to replace the battery on this phone. I searched the internet and found a youtube video on how to replace the battery. On opening up the phone as described in the video I was able to remove the battery, and searched again on Google for a replacement which is a Panasonic Li-ion battery, 680mAh. I found what I wanted and duly ordered 2 online. They arrived quite quickly if I remember, and I think they came from China. Sorry, can't remember the cost. I was able to install one of the batteries using the instructions on the youtube video and it has been working very well ever since (about 2 years now). I still have the other new battery in a drawer ready to install if the current battery needs replacing. I have just searched again for the youtube video so that I could send you a link but cannot find at the moment. So, I hope this helps and wish you good luck.
  17. Hi all. I was thinking of going over to Samet at Songkran. Can anybody advise on whether Songkran water fights will be going on at that time either on the island or at Ban Phe where the ferry terminal is. I would like to book a hotel well in advance. Regards, thoengthaied.
  18. Thank you Dr Jay. To be pedantic, you state "Passport copy of the seller copy of visa."...............Is that visa of the seller or buyer? Regards, thoengthaied.
  19. Both seller and buyer live in Chonburi province....Huay Yai and Jomtien respectively. It seems reasonable that the buyer would want the car to be registered in Chonburi in order to facilitate future transfers of ownership, road tax, etc. etc. Do you know better?
  20. As the Title says, is it possible to buy a used car in Pattaya which is registered in Bangkok and with Bangkok number plates and have the ownership transferred to the new owner at Chonburi Provincial Transport Office in Pattaya. If so, what do the seller and purchaser need in the way of documentation, costs, etc. TIA, thoengthaied.
  21. Hello folks. I have just bought a second hand car and I need an instruction manual in English language. I have found a pdf file on a Google search and want to be able to place it on my smartphone desktop for easy access, but cannot find a way to do that. If I download it I don't know where it goes to. Could somebody please help me with instructions on how to place an icon for it on my desktop ? Regards, thoengthaied.
