  1. After submitting pension verification letter they asked for 2022 and 2023 tax returns. I sent a letter explaining my 2023 wasn’t ready and only had 2022. They accepted the 2022 as proof.
  2. I actually called SSA 3 times last night….all to a rep not an automated system. I agree that I need to go through Manila. Thanks for the help. I may get stuck with Bangkok Bank.
  3. Thanks, I agree but SSA in the U.S. does not. My deposits come in like clock work so Swift codes/routing numbers must be correct. My problem is as stated above that I can’t get by the security question. SSA shows a different routing number than Bangkok Bank and giving them the Swift code doesn’t help. I tend to think at this point the routing number they have in their system is a Citibank routing number and since Citibank has numerous routing numbers I am unsure which to try next.
  4. After further research and rereading this forum I see that Citibank may be involved in the transfer. I will call SSA again tonight and try the Citibank routing number(s). If that fails I will contact the Manila FBU and hopefully they can tell me how this was set up.
  5. I originally signed up for direct deposit at my U.S. bank, I switched to Bangkok Bank for the 65000 for my visa. I nolonger need the deposit as I have a LTR visa. Since I am unhappy with the exchange rate into Thailand I am trying to change my direct deposit from Thailand back to my bank in the U.S. In contacting Social Security one of their security questions is what is the routing number for Bangkok Bank. I gave them 026008691 and that does not match what they have on file. My original form show a Swift code on the form sent to FBU in the Philippines. Since the banks are closed at the moment I was hopeful someone on here has possibly run into this problem and how was it solved. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TB
  6. You might try the State Department Federal Credit Union. I looked into it but I already do all my banking in the U.S. at a Credit Assn so it didn’t appeal to me, although it may in the future. Possibly you could transfer the locked funs? https://www.sdfcu.org/
  7. Just somee added info on the 7162 mailing. I rec'd the form 30 days after it was dated and imediately sent it registered airmail. 14 days later it arrived in New York (Aug 10th) and there have been no updates since. The 60 days has now expired. I called SSA last night and they have not rec'd it as of yet, the agent recomended I send another. The phone call does not suffice for proof of living. I'll give it another week and then FedEx it to my mail forwarder and let them remail for me.
  8. After a suction procedure at a hospital I developed tinnitus. There is no cure, go online and research and follow suggestions to “get rid of it”. Mine went from annoying to absolutely nothing in a year or so. In fact until I saw this I had forgotten about having it.
