  1. They needed witnesses and a certified copy of the passport.
  2. We finalised our Marriage Registration at Laksi District Office yesterday. We went there at the end of Feb and they offered a date of 12th April to do the registration. They only carry out a few foreigner/Thai marriages and hence the time between booking and registration. A very simple procedure and done by very helpful and kind people (including the car park attendants). So, if a wait isn't a problem, Laksi gets the thumbs-up from me.
  3. The answer is probably somewhere else but, for retirement extension, does one need 800,000 baht in the bank for two or three months before application? Thanks John
  4. Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm waiting for my divorce paperwork from UK, so can't make appointment at UK Embassy yet. We'll try to get things registered ourselves first and only use an agent if things drag out too long - I really need it fixed by August, so I can get a marriage visa, changing from retirement extension.
  5. Hi. My fiancé has called Sathorn and they're saying there will be a wait before an appointment is made but won't specify how long...... Seems like we'll have to wait for a scheduled appointment, wherever we go. Thanks, everyone for your input. J.
  6. My fiancée called Bangrak Amphur about marriage registration and was told we'll have to leave the paperwork and it'll take about three weeks before being called back - so, no same-day service. An agent says she can get it all done on the same day for a fee of 8,000 baht. Laksi Amphora wants up to three months to get things done! Seems like there's quite a few variations of service.
  7. Yes, my local Amphur needed loads of stuff....too complicated.
  8. ps. I asked an agent and they wanted 37,000 baht for the whole process!
  9. Hi, I'm getting married soon and want to know the best Amphur to use to register it. I tried Laksi and they say submit paperwork, wait two months and get called in for the registration. I live in Bang Pa In and that was less helpful! I hear some places just ask you to turn up and job done. Anyone with recent experience who can offer advice? Thanks John
  10. Hi, When doing a Visa Extension based on retirement does one have to keep 800 k in the bank for three months or two months prior to application? Thanks J.
  11. Hi, Happy New Year to all. Perhaps someone can advise me? I have a Non Immigrant Type O visa extended until 31 Aug 2023. I plan to get married soon and change the reason for extension of my visa to marriage. I was thinking of doing that to tie in with my current extension's expiry date. The query I have is - will I need to follow the money in the bank rules (400k/800k etc) associated with the retirement extension or can I follow the marriage rules of 400k for two months before application? Or should I just change my extension as soon as I get married? Any views, J.
  12. Hi, I've used the on-line 90 day reporting previously and been successful, with a reply within 24 hours. I put one in last Friday and it is still pending. No reply from 1178. Is anyone else having to wait like me? Any suggestions? John
  13. Next question. He doesn't have his TM6 departure card with him. Is it an essential pice of information?
