  1. The Thai visa requirements are still to cumbersome and confusing. I just got back from a three week vacation to Portugal. 1 RTPCR to leave Seattle. $175 at the airport. 1 RT Antigen to leave Amsterdam. Euros 58 at the airport. Nothing on arrival into Porto. Traveled freely around Portugal, just had to use a mask. 1 RT Antigen to leave Porto. Euros 35 at the Airport. 1 RT Antigen to leave Amsterdam. Euro 58 at the airport. I traveled freely around Amsterdam and Porto with only a mask required. Drank a lot of great wine, ate a lot of great food chased a lot of great ladies, though they tend to have large backsides here. English was spoken everywhere. Police were polite and helpful. Never got charged double for being a foreigner. Beaches were clean and nobody tried to charge me for using the beach. As well found out there is a five year program for permanent residency. I can own a home here. Great mass transit systems that are clean. Not sure if I’ll ever go back to Thailand. Maybe Vietnam when it opens, but I had a blast in Portugal and it was overall, much more affordable than a similar trip tonThailand would have been.
  2. The infamous US American comedian, Robin Williams, once said ”man has two brains, but only enough blood flow to operate one at a time”.
  3. 2.6 bil bht would buy a lot of rice for those that don’t have any. As I recall Prayut referred to it as Thaism. Almost as pathetic as the Biden admin.
  4. Absolutely Ironic. career Military Officer. perfect choice for tourism specialist, let alone PM. Feedem the BS and if they don’t buy the concept, throw them in the Brig. Supersedes the worse case of logic possible.
  5. I’m absolutely loving it here in Portugal. Prayer and King wanna be can take their country and shove it. Kick a dog long enough and he will find a new home.
  6. Seamless in LOFS means getting hosed from one venue to the other without a normal sequence occurring. This is the first year since 99 that I have not wintered in Thailand. Gone to Southern Portugal instead and loving it.
  7. Consider it a saving grace. I took my Thai wife to USA and she became Americanized….The exact thing I was trying to avoid when I married Thai Gal. bring your folks to The Land of Fake Smiles, don’t take your wife to the USA. It’s like letting your most obedient pet run loose forever.
  8. Wow…reality check is over due. Does he have a basic concept of how foreigners lives are arranged? Everybody wants to come to Chailand in the middle July when the hitherland is comfortable balmy 25c and everything is green.
  9. U ntil I’m allowed permanent residency in CHIALAND, I will never buy property here. Interesting though, there are no restriction, other than financial, that would keep my wife from buying property in her accepted, adopted and dual passport Country other than CHIALAND.
  10. Do yourselves a really big favor and come rent here for six months. You can read much info here, but until you experience LOFS as a resident, you won’t really understand the frustrations.
