  1. Until it starts to predict what you may do in the future, see movie "Minority Report"
  2. I know it's Jomtien as you say, but I still don't understand the delay. I've used 4 different offices for annual retirement extensions and all of them approved on the spot and stamped the passport accordingly. Normally only takes about 30-40 mins in the office. Also with a Non-B and work permit, extension approved and passport stamped all in one 30-40 minute visit.
  3. Retirement is simply 50+ (correct provided you can meet the financial requirements) Not working in TH (correct) Unless having a permit to do (then you won't be on retirement as the labor office will not issue you with a Work Permit - been there and done that)
  4. I left UK at 48 with enough contributions to be able to obtain my full State Pension, wasn't my fault they changed the scheme criteria on me
  5. I thought they were no longer allowed to use names which implied they were superior to anybody else
  6. maybe I need to get a new phone to get my second BB account added to mobile banking, my branch has told me (and backed up by other posters here) that foreigners can only have one account.
  7. Not only in the UK,in Thailand also. witness a certain political figure in Thailand recently
  8. Good question and if so which NI number was he using for DWP Peter Smith or Richard Burrows, did he ever have to do "Proof of Life" certificates, and were HMRC taxing his private pensions if any (or at least assessing him for tax). If my brain was younger I could probably think of quite a few more areas with question marks, the system does appear to have failed in his account.
  9. Better still stay at home and eat risky Chinese food, than come to Thailand to eat risky Thai food and then complain that the food HE chose gave him problems.
  10. Rightly or wrongly I count it from the extension expiry date, in my case 29 April, so therefore 29 May (30 days), 29 June (31 Days), 29 July (30 days) so total of 91 days, in case months are being counted as 31 days each it's safe to move on August 1, by doing so I had no issue with my local office 3 days ago for my annual extension. I personally think it should be from the approval date not from the expiry date, but is it worth the potential problem next year for a few days this year.
  11. Poster asked what is options were, so I gave him an answer that avoided the need to leave the country to get a fresh visa.
  12. It was normal for mine with Viraya Insurance, went to office every year to pay and every year they took photos of the car
  13. You have to leave when your employment ends. Nope, when my contract terminated, with the schools help I got my WP cancelled, and then applied same day for a "Retirement" extension. Did not need to leave the country, and have now had 5 subsequent retirement extensions without leaving.
  14. For the same reason they are not required to show money in bank or foreign income every year to Immigration. Fallang husbands can work provided they are actually married and can get a work permit.
  15. I used to buy it in my local Makro (only place locally I could find) until I got a really bad bottle (other 11 were OK), checked the date on the box it came from 7 months from production date, 2 boxes lasts me about a week so not kept, checked the stack in Makro when time too replace my stock, not one box was marked less than 10 months old.
