  1. Thanks, that is what I remembered seeing in a different country.
  2. Anywhere that will teach someone in Thai how to use a Mac, whether via Apple or separately. She is Apple phone, Ipad etc, so seems the sensible route to go. I know they are meant to be self explanatory, but my wife needs to learn to use a laptop, she hasn't used a computer in 20 years, I plan to give her my M1 to use and don't have the patience or the will to teach her myself.
  3. Pretty much, her bunions were playing up, but google says that isn't related to leukemia. Fascinating that you find it so hard to believe that someone can just be diagnosed with cancer suddenly without symptoms. Almost as if you are denial that this could happen. If you are worried, I would go to the hospital rather than denying something is wrong.....
  4. and my mother - collapsed before a flight back to the UK from the US - tested blood wbc count was minimal, had some sort of leuakemia, was patched up and flown back to start treatment
  5. We were about to buy a house, the paperwork from the seller has turned into a mess and we have pulled out. I don't want to remit the funds back out of Thailand, the baht has taken a dive since then and I don't want to pay tax bringing it back in next year if we need to. I figure the best move is to mirror our offshore investment,s but in Thaland for the time being Which bank or finance service provides access to the LSE and is straightforward. It will be in my wife's name if that makes it easier.
  6. Cheers, first time in 15+ years I've had to thnk about taking care of my own visa
  7. Wife and daughter hold dual nationalities - Thai. Do any options mean I won't have to do a visa run and can change a B to O or does it always require a border crossing?
  8. I've been working here for 10+ years now, I plan to take some time out in August for 6-12 months to spend more time with my family. What is the most straightforward option for a visa? O visa based on spouse O visa based on child O visa based on child's school - international school. I would prefer not to do border runs if I can help it.
  9. Happens in the UK - you get arrested, processed, printed and swabbed - it is a significant battle to get that removed if found not-guilty or not charged.
  10. Used to also be able to swap your soi dog for a plastic bucket, then the bloody greens came along and said it was bad for the environment to swap dogs for plastic buckets and they stopped.
  11. I've seen a few hiace with 1uz fitted https://rod.kaidee.com/product-366633541
  12. Japanese V8 economy, thank you very much! Have a look on Kaidee or FB marketplace - search 1UZ and you can see a good selection of conversions. I believe side exit exhausts are the only appropriate thing for a modified 1UZ toyota hilux
