But how many people died from the flu?  How many people would have died from almost any ailment because they were weak, old, obese, diabetic, had emphysema, or any number of underlying conditions?  In the first few months in the USA doctors and hospitals were signing off on death certificates often without even testing since test kits were hard to come by and they decided it was not important to know for sure.  So I would take any mortality statistics with a grain of salt.  Also, bear in mind that you have no idea how many people actually had, or have the COVID since they do not test the entire population.  Odds are it is no more lethal than the flu in a bad season.

i don't want to die from flu either. i get a flu shot.

  2. Hey, wait a minute. Why is the kid sitting in the middle of the street? There are cars and motorbikes out there. The gate should be shut and looks like it was left open.

Hey, wait a minute. This vicious animal is going to keep getting out and biting people. Next time it won't leave any witnesses.

You bite human, you get put down, krup.

Needs to call charlie with a chain, ka.

Needs to whip that gahree, jhao.

If a human attacked like this they would be dead or locked up by now.

Masks, social distancing, frequent vaccinations and so on continue. It is depressing. Essentially nothing changes so why vaccinate if you have had it already? For travel yes, but why would anyone travel in world like that (for pleasure at least)?

You will get used to it. Wearing your mask will be similar to a gentleman's hankerchief. The polite and proper thing to do. Manners.

Take your fear and politics out of the equation and what's left is a hankerchief on your face.

Same thing as not sneezing on someone or spitting (except for Vietnam where they like that), or not wearing a condom or any kind of barrier.

  4. having your own merchant account helps, because your actually disputing the chargeback with the customers bank, not a third party.

if you use someone elses merchant account like amazon, square, paypal, etc. your pretty much doomed.

if your selling big ticket items you need your own merchant account. smaller stuff, might be more cost effective to just eat the loss on a third party platform due to easy setup and cheap rates, no minimums, compliance etc.

the fraudsters do frequent the platforms more then regular businesses, learned that the hard way. tried selling on amazon years ago. never again. they in fact enable fraud there. one negative word from the customer you lose your product and your money no questions asked. the customer is not even required to return the item!

Personally, I'd love to be in Pattaya now. Bars or no bars it must be better for those that are there than when the horde was blocking the roads with huge tour buses, one had to run to cross the street alive and farangs were exploited and taken for granted.

i would be worried about being exploited now more then before, being a walking target basically.

there's a certain safety in numbers and when your blending into a crowd. who wants to be the only guy getting a taxi from the airport, or getting anything else for that matter when so many people are desperate and out of work.

  7. imo your better off renting a villa or small house with a garden area on a yearly lease or more, not a condo. there's plenty of these in the cm area close to the old city.

these condos in cm are not that great and things feel cramped after awhile. a month or two and i wanted to get out even from a big one with a view of the mountain (chomdoi condotel).

the way the balconies are setup you also need to close your drapes at night because the neighbor can peer in at you or even lean over from the next unit to look in while your sleeping. it's a hassle to keep opening and closing the drapes all the time.

it gets hot here and sitting in a condo gets real stuffy and humid and you cant just live with ac its loud, stuffy and expensive. no cross ventilation in most condos due to the hallways. need a small house with air flow.

if i was set on a condo though, i can recommend chomdoi, nice units, views of doi suthep. classy older building. up above nimman towards the university. you need to get in the bigger round building though, not the smaller building.

    Who are THEY?

    And where is THERE?

I have never had Catsup or ketchup or sauce poured on my plate.

    Come on name names please.

you have never had a hot dog weiner american breakfast in thailand?

your either really lucky or you need to get out more. i don't think the places that served it even had names. mostly guesthouses, or even mid range hotels, or other travelers/tourist type joints.

they bring a wood caddy with catsup and mustard and place it real close to your plate when they serve it, right in front of the meal. not pouring it though. i always need to push the caddy away to the side before i start eating.

i think cheap charlies had weiner, but i'm not positive. have not been there in awhile.

order the "american breakfast" and try to get a place that's not owned by an american who is importing in sausages.

get you sum hot dog for sausage, or some slice of thin sammich ham for bacon. tell 'em to grill it.

I now seriously doubt that you have ever been to Pattaya. Hot dogs cooked to look like sausages? Really?

I have eaten many full English breakfasts both in Pattaya and the UK. Although the breakfasts in Central Pattaya don't measure up to the best of British, most would pass muster in your average British transport caf.

i'm talking about sausages i would eat in the usa. uk weiners may be different.

all i know is they use american hot dogs in place of sausages on many breakfasts and they want you to put catsup on a hot dog for breakfast, but they were not british joints, but just cheapo tourist type spots, like thai places that have american breakfast options and cater to foreigners.

we don't eat hot dogs for breakfast in america, only at ball games, cookouts etc.

if your reading this and serving hot dogs for breakfast, stop doing that, and use a thai sausage instead if you can't get legit american sausages.

Most British style places do proper sausages and decent size mugs of tea or coffee, at a price either side of 100 baht at least up till 12.00 and possibly all day for a full breakfast.

So what you are saying is that your knowledge of Pattaya is sketchy at best. Nothing wrong with that.

As for Thai Street food plenty of that about as you describe.

are you sure it's not really a hot dog, cooked to look like a sausage? they have blokes in there all they do all morning is make hot dogs look like a real sausage so people will pay extra. they even pour catsup on your plate so you can't tell that it's really a hot dog weiner.
