Be sure and check out whether they will recognize a degree from the Philippines if you are not a Philippine national.   There was talk about not permitting western citizens to get a Teacher's License with an online degree from the Philippines.

Whether this is true or not, I don't know, but do check it out before investing in course work that may not achieve your goals.

I did the course and have a license now, so it's fine.

  2. How did Boofi-Bam ever get the nod to build a track like that? Must of been some cheap land up there. But to tell people that after they fly into Bangkok to watch an international sporting event that they need to drive 4-5 hours into rural Thailand to get to the track? Seems a bit odd to me.

Why not, it was a smart idea from a smart local business man.

No need to drive, they have an airport in Buri Ram, so you can fly to there if you want.

Quote from Wiki: In 2013, Newin Chidchob, developer of the Buriram's new CIC F1 racetrack, has said that, "Buriram doesn't have sea like Pattaya, doesn't have mountains like Chiang Mai, so we will support Buriram to be the city of sports by 2 years soon."

For my family it was a very nice mini holiday, we drove from Pattaya Friday, went sightseeing on Saturday, saw the races on Sunday and drove back Monday.

We had to stay app 50km south of Buri Ram since all the hotels were fully booked, so good for the hotels.

People very friendly everywhere up there and it was cheap to eat and having some beers at a bar near the hotel.

Why should everything be in Bangkok? They already have a lot of stuff going on, the car show has started now as an eksample.

Well said my friend, and that is coming from a guy who lives near the sky btrain.

  3. Good to know. I will come over from bangkok, I might put the bike on the back of the truck since gf comes along (darn valentines day...), will then park the the truck somewhere else and ride the bike to and into the stadium

Why is it so important to bring your bike and riding in if you are going in the truck?

I don't care much about riding out there but more to come and check the bikes out, enjoy the atmosphere and having some beers with fellow bikers. I don't ride drunk anymore, it's stupid and dangerous for yourself and others. I am not saying that you are doing that off-course.

One year I took the Harley in the afternoon and did the ride and then took it back to my house and took a motor bike taxi out there again and got loaded and another motor bike taxi back home, late.

My Versys is not a stunner anyway (well don't get me wrong here, love it) so not many will pay attention anyway.

I bet there will be some very expensive bikes on display, both in the stadium big bike parking lot and on the stands. Well I saw that already today when I passed by before I rode out to bangsaray for lunch.

That is what we always do, find a hotel and park the bike for the night, no worries then.

BTW. I send LL2 a PM so looking forward to meeting you all for a brew or 2

    • If you can not read and / nor understand the Thai language, you are allowed to bring a interpreter to fill the forms and translate the possible instruction class and tests.
    • Valid Passport with Valid Non-immigrant Visa
    • Signed copies of the passport's first page, the page with the current non-immigrant visa, the page with the last entry stamp and the TM-card.
    • A certified letter of address from the applicant's embassy, or from the Immigration Bureau (document can not be older than 30 days).

Tip: The letter from the embassy is the fastest option, but the immigration office will provide this service for free. However, it will take them 3-6 weeks to complete and an officer from your local police station will visit your place of residence for verification.

If you are working in Thailand: the blue workbook, better known as your work permit, can replace either of these documents and serve as address verification!

    • A doctor's certificate stating that the applicant is in good health, both physically and mentally (standard forms are available from most clinics and should not be more than 30 days old)
    • 2 photos, 1 x 1 inch and not older than 6 months (photo service is available on the premises).
    • Valid international driver's license plus signed photocopy or translated regular driving licence from the applicant's home country, certified by Embassy or consulate. (if available).
    • Note that 1 set of these documents is required per licence applications. However, when applying for both a car and a motorcycle license, an extra copy of the doctor's certificate and the letter of address will suffice for the second application.

If you already have a license from your home country you do not have to take a test.
