  1. Went along with a friend and was not disaponted very nice people good service and it seemed that they actually cared!

Only down side was that a table was occupied by a rather loud bald gentleman spouting on about soccer in partcular 'Spurs' (which I initially thought was a basketball team).

Nevertheless I can recommend the establishment and I will return.

Ignore him anyway, he's always like that. biggrin.png
  2. Fish 'n Chips will be 100 baht this Thursday, but rather more low key than last Thursday. 100 Baht Fish 'n Chips will be on every Thursday until the end of July, and from next week we will be offering some other meals at around 100 baht or less.

Please remember these offers are being offered at around the same profit margin as JeffreyMcCollum would like me to make on a bottle of water, so bear with us! If you have a problem with the food, tell me straight away and I will put it right, if I'm not there, my phone number is on our business cards at the bar, phone me. It's difficult to rectify problems once peoples trembling typing fingers have got to work on Thai visa or other forums!

So I dont miss out next time mate, what time are you doing these?
  3. I went in on Thursday lunchtime also to have the fish and chips special that was advertised on this thread as from 11am, Pedr was just leaving as I got there, we said hello and good bye sort of thing. Me and the wife sat down and was given the breakfast menu by the staff, I asked if we could have the fish and chip special but was told that it wasn't available till 6pm and we could have breakfast only. Not really wanting that we left and went elsewhere for fish and chips. I know Pedr well enough to know the food would have been good and I think it was just a communication's mistake between him and the staff, but that was my experience of The Olde Bell's fish and chip day (night as it was)

  4. Will the agreement that Asean Countries will get the same buying rights as Thai's in Thailand from 2015 have anything to do with it? May be forward thinking.

Is that true? I'm aware that 2015 ushers in an era that those seeking employment are free to work anywhere in the region but I hadn't heard about any freeing up of land? Got a link to any relevant info by chance?

sorry I dont, my wife read it on the daily news website about 2 weeks ago but we were unable to find the link last night when we looked for it.
  5. If you come in from the middle ring road anything before the bridge is Tanawan 2, after the bridge near the swimming pool area towards the entrance on the 1001 is Tanawan 1. Like WG says try to get somewhere after the bridge because of the flooding, but keep away from the road at the side of the swimming pool due to the woman that keeps all the stray dogs, when I was there they used to howl all day at people going to the gym and swimming pool.

  6. As Pedr from the Old Belle mentioned to fork out 6000 for a licence fee seems a bit crazy seeing most games kick off at 1.45am (except for the first week).

Let's see how crazy it sounds when England start doing well and win a couple of games..

555 well they have the best manager now right? you know... the one Liverpool sacked... so he must be good right? good enough for England but not good enough for Liverpool

At least the Liverpool players in the squad may find out what its like to finish fourth in the league now. biggrin.png
  7. It`s a sort of cultural thing.

Usually the police and the law turns a blind eye to those turning left at a red traffic signal providing they consider the action as safe. The same applies in many American states.

But technically it is breaking the law and is up to the discretion of the police whether or not they pull someone over for it. Also if this causes an accident the vehicle that ran the red light will be brought to book for it.

So it`s a case of, some you win, some you lose and is completely up to your own judgement.

Didn't think you could turn left at a red light in America??
  8. Not surprised how you achieved 4000+ post so quickly.

Well, you asked a question and I answered. The above mentioned places are within your requested temperature zone. If you want these temperatures outside, you'll not find it in CM or inThailand for that matter. smile.png

Me and Semper have had our set to's on here in the past but I agree with him, "Ask a silly question, get a silly answer"

  9. and every time I see your avatar reminds me of beano school report (or was it Dandy?)

Name of Pupil: DAN, Desperate Age: 15

    Dear Mr and Mrs Dan,

As we all know, Desperate is not a bright boy (if boy is the right word for someone who's been shaving since he was six). He has spent so long at the bottom of the class the other children call him 'Shipwreck.'

I am sure there are no similarities.

It's the Dandy...... Desperate Dan is 74 years old....nearly as old as me.

He knows all about good food...especially pies.

But you southerners don't put mushy peas and gravy on your pies, so you cant know that much biggrin.png
