Perhaps he has a mental problem, he should have an operation to have the <deleted>e removed. Then a good brain washing and a nice big fat check to the doctor whom he kicked.

Mae Tao Clinic founder Dr. Cynthia Applies for Thai Citizenship
nycjoe replied to webfact's topic in Central Thailand News
I have visited Mae Tao clinic, as a member of Chiang Mai International Rotary Group, simply amazing work. They have a building dedicated to prosthetics and a maternity ward where thousand upon thousands of children have been born. I ain't religious, but if I ever thought I would meet a saint, she would be the one. I can't imagine how many people would have suffered without her selfless grace. -

When applying online to renew my visa, I mark my calendar for between 3 weeks and 1 week before the notification date stated on my last receipt. If you try to do it before or after the window you cannot access the online form. the website I access is https://tm47.immigration.go.th/tm47/#/login if you have never used the online system you may have to set it up which may be done using the parent url.

Chiang Mai tourism: Haze issue risks long-stay senior tourist numbers
nycjoe replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
If it were only thailand that is creating the problem then there are solutions, you can tell where the burnt fields are and fine them, either through satellite images or aerial reconnaissance. Unfortunately it is not only a thailand problem. the haze is coming form Cambodia, Burma, Laos and China, it has to be an asean thing and few politicians want to lose potential votes. -

With that many parties vying for positions, I would love to be a fly on the wall. I hope that there is a good system for sorting it all out. -

Govt Urges Public Assistance in Tackling Air Pollution Issue
nycjoe replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
With the tech they have now and satellite imaging they could fine the owners of the land and raise the fine until the burning stops, but the mushroom hunters are another story, they burn down the forest. Making the sale of those mushrooms illegal and posting a reward for the picker ..... unfortunately it is not just a local thing it is all across the region, smoke travels across borders. I was in a plane coming from chiang Mai to Udon Thani and the smoke rose to the thousands of feet the airplane was flying at. -

The way the world is going it is hard to foresee what is around the corner. Things are dismal for the ordinary Thai. Shuttered businesses. Empty hotels. A weaker baht will bring tourism back a bit but those who come will see that It is not the Thailand they remember. It will be years until there is a semblance of a new normal. Inflation is pummeling the poor. Buckle up it is going to be a rocky ride.

Crypto get real
nycjoe replied to Sparktrader's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
There will always be people who want to make money for nothing and get sex for free, hence there are painted ponies on the merry go round and they go up and they go down. Just wait for the new batch of suckers. they will go for the brass ring. There is another analogy for the roller coaster but I digress.
