To show that I'm not a racist...
I also makes a point of taking notice with cars with 'back home' flag (like welsh, bavaria or whatever) on their bumper too, often these are driven by geriatric old farts in a hurry to get somewhere before they croacked.
Unlike you who seems to be a younger useless driver

Living here in Pattaya i have been stopped twice for traffic offenses,both times i was in the wrong and both times i was ticketed and had to go to the station to pay the fine ,i was never asked for a bribe , that has only happened once and in was in BKK.

I dont know if it did what the op said ,but it made me a lot of money and made a lot of guys happy ,so it couldnt be all bad.

Do it every year ,get a letter from the bank after you get your interest in jan,then take it to the tax office ,my wife usually speaks to the guy who is very helpfull in the Pattaya tax office ,you will need your passport or driving licence.

Try telling that to the thousands of widows - widowers- bereaved parents etc in Iraq,You cant drink alcohol but you can take a drug to give yourself the same effect ,a little like muslim finance ,you cant take any interest but there are ways around it to make a profit ,-hypocritical or what?
Why single out Muslims, same as Christians who don't adhere to the ten commandments or followers of other faiths etc, etc, etc...

I do not see what this has to do with it ,we are not fighting a religous war and i do not hear of Christians fighting ,bombing and killing in the name of Jesus every day in the newspapers ,what do you have against the brave British and American soldiers who are being killed every day by Islamic terrorists,in the name of their prophet.
anyway the guy was only commenting on the way that some believers in their faith get around the restrictions put on them by that faith in devious ways.

There is an old fishing village that has been here from the start of Pattaya ,its called walking street now ,but i am not sure how authentic it still is as i have not been there for some time.

I saw the guys snipe at Pattaya ,it seems to have been deleted now along with nervoussurgeons , but to make a comment like "what sort of people would live in Pattaya is a real insult ,i know many good people who live here ,i am sure there are many "bad" people where he lives along with small minded people just like him.

My friend without trying to appear rude if you have had five Thai wifes who have left you ,i think you should be looking at what is wrong with you ,not what is wrong with Thai women
The title of this thread is:

So I responded to the OP in good faith, having had much experience in this matter, both personal, and from observing others over a period of more than 40 years, and felt that I had something useful to contribute.
I revealed my own experiences by way of illustration - not so that someone should turn the discussion into a snide insinuation on my state of mind.
'what is wrong with me' is NOT the subject under discussion.
What do you hope to gain from your remark? What does it add to the discussion?
It doesn't take a genius to realise that if someone has been married for 5 times then there is something wrong somewhere - but although I may be an extreme example, I can assure you that there are countless farangs who have had multiple marriages with Thai women.
I see you are observant enough to refer to me as the 'darkside blogger,' so why don't you go one step further and read my blog, as then you would then find all the answers you are looking for and apart from many other things you would learn that it wasn't 'five Thai wives who left me' - pray where did I say that?
Maybe it is simply that something I said that hit a bad note in your own life?
What could you have said that hit a bad note in my life? i was merely making an observation that your having 5 THAI wives( i do not know if you have had any of another sort. ) it would seem that you either married ladies that were not suited to married life or that there was something about you that was wrong , i assumed ,perhaps wrongly that you were denigrating Thai women and pointing out that they did not make good marriage material.
In fact i have found that they are much the same as women of any nationality some are good some are bad ,
usually the men on here that are going on about "bad" Thai women are the sort who come to Pattaya for a holiday never meet any woman that does not work in a bar as a hooker and then believe that they are GODS gift ,take her back home and find that she is the same as many hookers the world over ,only after money ..
not that for a moment did i think your wives were like this ,but i did think that maybe you were choosing the wrong ladies to marry ,we have all done it in the past .

Police are at present looking for a woman of Asian appearence ,who may be called Lek,she has a tatoo and speaks English badly,last seen she was wearing a very short skirt ,halter top and very high heeled platform shoes..

Depends on the age difference if the Thai lady is 15 years plus younger than her farang partner then she will almost certainly have affairs behind his back (seen this happen so often)
Well my wife is 22 years younger than me and in the long time we have been together if she is having an affair its in the garden or with the gardener(although i dont think he could manage it) we are hardly ever apart and when i have my once a week forey to the bar for a few drinks i think our son would cramp her style as he is home with her

Taking your partner to your own country is the beginning of the end. They become westernized very quickly and realize they dont need you any more. It is the worst possible thing you can do. Believe me, I have experienced it. They become even more greedy. They also meet other thais who teach them how to be successful and its does not include you.
What a load of tosh ,this might have happened to you ,but i know many guys who have loving ,long lasting relationships in Britain with their Thai wives . For my part we lived in the UK for seven years very happilly ,we now have been back in Thailand for 6 years and are still happy .
It all depends on the girl you marry and you. please dont take this the wrong way but just because you couldnt make it work ,does not mean others cant ,
to add a ps to this ,as my wife has lived in the west ,when i say i despair at Thai drivers ,she quite understands

Get a car , air con comfort to where i am going . you wouldnt get me on a bike if you gave it to me for free ,although i did like my lambretta when i was a teenager.
