Wow, your must be driving a lot, even with my gasoline sucking Chrysler Jeep driven rough I could hardly get it down lower mileage than 4 kilometers per liter, 500 baht equals about 15 liters which means more than one time around the island on the Ring Road in average every day, which of course is possible, but you also need time to spend time to use the 3,000 baht exercise, which presumabloy is some kind of gym fee, and 1,000-1,500 baht on massage every day, which could be up to 5-6 hours massage if not in an up-priced hi-so place, or extra service is included in the fee...????

I dumped my old Jeep, and can of course say that I'm more green now driving a kind of Eco-car, i.e. use E20 fuel, which gives me at least three times as many kilometers per liter fuel, and that made two hours weekly oil-massage within reach from the fuel budget...????

How do you manage to use for 500 baht fuel a day?

School fee of 200k baht a year is not surprising, 450k to 500k baht is possible on Samui for just one kid, but on top 25k baht a month for "kids" plus 30k baht a month for food!

Of course I know that kids easily equals the mathematical formula: iPod + iPad + iBook = iPay...????

How many kids are included in the budget?

i have  needs that must be attended

most important  is my once a month 3 sum

    nothing  can mess with that

  2. this biggest problem here is neglecting the less wealthy foreigners

Thailand  must remember  that wealthy foreigners  can live anywhere in the world pretty much.

large amount  of income is lost  due to large living  visa costs for the lower paying  tourists  and expats

expats in large numbers  as much as some of us do not like them make up a huge sum of income for the country in areas like pattaya  phuket samui islands chiangmai

even though  some of these people maybe considered  scummy  people they  have allot of value. in numbers

there is plenty of places in these areas for rich or people or people  that want to be away from the less richer people

    but remember

    everyone needs to eat

everyone needs a room to sleep

    everyone  needs transport

    that's  rooms/ houses  for rent

    motorbike cars for rent

    restaurants

    then luxuries like entertainment

    massages at good prices

    cheap  beer

all this makes jobs and families  for Thai  people

and brings in allot of income

    The only real comment that I can make is that if you are Burmese then;

    RUN LIKE HELL!

stupidity  comment. so what all Burmses are presumed innocent  now?

Well put @starky!!  We have AZ and Sinovac available here.  Maybe in a few months, others will become available.  Nothing wrong with these two jabs.  All vaccines have side effects, all.  Get what ever jab you can as you'll be getting another one in a year anyway.

    thumbnail.jpg

    isn't  sinovac only 51.7 % effective ?

also made in China  which i will not put anything  made in China  willingly into my body ...

AstraZeneca is now mainly not used for people under the age of 65, as it's within the younger population the side effect with blood clots appears, while it's considered safe for the elder population.

However Johnson & Johnson's Jansen-vaccine is made by same method as AstraZeneca and out of only five million vaccinations already four serious cases of blood clots have been detected, so also that vaccine has in Europe become suspected for causing the same problems as AstraZeneca, even they hardly began to use the Jansen-vaccine.

In total three of the Covid-19-vaccines are made from similar viral-vector method, they are AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson Jansen, and (Russian) Sputnik V; whilst Moderna and Pfizer vaccines both are mRNA vaccines. Chinese Sinovac, which so far have been used in Thailand, is an inactivated virus vaccine.

I'll  sit back and watch  for a while not in a hurry..lived with covid for over a year

if i am going to get a life vaccine i shall take a seat at the back and see what is what

i would prefer  to buy than take the free vaccine so i have 100% say in what i am injected with. specially  when my decision  doesn't  just effect me but e everyone around me.

i just hope i do not catch before i decide lol

  8.  thailand they have astra and sinovac

Astra UK halted making  to check for possibly  blood clotting  side effects and Sinovac came from China tested in Brazil only 51.7 % effective

so sorry i don't  trust the cheap <deleted> from china

remember  even if your vaccinated you can still carry it on your  clothes

you can catch it from a hand rail so in theory many vaccinated  people  could  be walking covid machines

I understand people must be getting a little stir crazy, but letting the whole population start freely moving around the country before the vaccination program has hardly got underway. What could possibly go wrong?

I wonder how many of those that were vaccinated earlier this week understand they won't have any immunity for  a while yet.

Ah well! Back to square one I suppose.

problem  with all vaccines is if for example  i am 100% vaccinated and i come into contact with covid i can still have it on me or on my clothes or on my body somewhere

if i sit or touch  someone next to me who hasn't been vaccinated  then they can catch from a vaccinated persons

so a vaccinated  person can move the virus around plus now in thailand they have astra and sinovac

astra they have stopped giving out in UK due to further  testing  for blood clots and Sinovac was used in Brazil  and only 50.7 % effective for immunity

for this reason i chose to wait for a better vaccine

i like johnston and Johnson one because  it is one jab plus Donald Trump ober sore that and  do not take this a racism but I trust  nothing  from China after this.

    They are accepting no responsibility

Plus UK will not address illegal  migrants  bringing  it into Uk then helping it spread a cross  country world for fear of being labeled  racist

it is not the only  way the virus  travels but it is a way

find it disgusting  how the UK parliament  talk about everything covid repeated but won't  talk about illegal  migrants

anyway that i why i left EU and UK

Sorry, no idea if there are new rules for pools.

I have paid my house and land tax for the last two years and there has been no mention of pools.

    (I paid 2020 just 10 days ago.)

It took a lot longer to pay the bills than it did to write the email here. It took about two hours each time - but there were complications. All finally sorted this time. It is all down to how accurate the bill is that they send to you in the post. Mine was not accurate. Getting that bill fixed took ages.

If you do not have the bill - do not go in. They do not have a clue what to do.

yes if i do not get a bill i not  pay. if the worst case scenario and i cannot pay due to complications  i just wait for court summons

You have no idea how difficult it was for me to register as income tax-payer in Thailand, three visits it took to the Custom House in Nathon – including a telephone conversation with someone very important up in Bangkok that fortunately spoke fine English – finally a madam big in the office felt mercy and registered me, I'm so thankful to her...????

The thing actually is, that when I'm registered income tax payer in Thailand – and I do pay some withheld tax, which I don't claim back as thanks for being allowed to file a year tax-return form and get a tax-receipt – then I'm allowed to pay only 10 percent Thai tax of some income from my home country instead of from 27 percent to 48 percent tax; similar rules applies to many countries with a DTA...????

And yes, Thailand is a tax-heaven – officially called "tax planning" – some foreign income you need to wait to transfer to the following calendar year of it's earned, or any later year, as the income then change status to "savings", which are free of tax when it's transferred; whilst other income you definitely transfer the same calendar year as earned, so you are eligible to pay Thai tax, which especially makes sense, when you are living in one of the World's top-10 countries for income tax; my home country is number one on the list...????

And the property tax in question is minor, so I gladly pay it, and also if it's 10 times higher, I will still pay with an extremely happy big smile, I just need to think of how my home country's tax-man would rip me of from a similar kind of property – I'll be heading to the revenue office for property taxation later this week, and I hope that I'm allowed to pay, before I burn off to much of my hard earned savings in gasoline...????

thanks i used to get 1 bill for land and house tax every year

this year i went to DBD to get new update company  document  but went to the wrong office. they asked me strand questions  and wanted  my chanote

then realized  i was in the wrong office

i had it confirmed that  new rules means they calculate  differently

I know  if you rent a villa  out per night  you need a license  and you need to claim you have a swimming  pool and you need a sign  showing  the depth of the pool plus other  safety  things

    fire extinguishers extra

but when you live in the villa then it is news to me why I would  need all that stuff because  i am not selling any service

what  will they do if i not pay?

take my pool away? lol after havint planning  permission when I first  built the place about 15 years ago and it has a pool  in the plans

    lol

The first question that came to my mind was, are they really tessaban people? I wouldn’t trust anyone that just shows up at your place. If they come again, ask them what the official department is they “work” for and then go there yourself, if it even exists that is, and ask there! I would also get a CCTV camera that records audio as well and place it so you can film their faces next time they show up unannounced, just in case it is a scam so you have evidence!

thanks i got it ok cctv plus they called me prior

I know  they calculate  land and house  tax differently  now.

they came round i was out but they asked my staff a few questions  then left

i have their phone  number  also

  13. quick question

i had some people from tessabaan come round  today. asked me how long k lived in the villa and started asking questions  about swimming  pool

the villa is private not being  rented

then someone told me they have new safety rules with owning a private pool

so if i cannot pay for the  nee safety rules which  i do not yet know what  they are then what will they do? take my pool  away?

anyone got  any clear  info on new land and house tax rules and swimming  pool rules

i know if you rent your villa out you need a license but if you live in a villa for 15 years seems strange

    thanks

If they are working without permits then there is obviously a demand for their services.

    Why not give them permits?

Surely improving English standards would be beneficial for Thailand and its economy.

    they can apply for permits

    then they will be given

they are looking  for people  trying  to use loop holes

for people that have the permits and pay the right  tax  must be very <deleted> off if the person next to them is working  on tourist  visa

doing  sane job for more profit

  15. shoppmall scam  where people were topping up money and getting commissions has recieved  thousands of complaints all over Thailand

i was in bohput  police station for 2 hours last night  submitting my report

if your a victim and you wish to open police  report

    1. photo copy  passport

    2. print  every bank transaction  you made to the website

    3. more information  print the website page if you have

    4. sign every page

the police  will tell you which  accounts  are open and which are still closed

then take the police  reports to each bank to submit your case

i went to 3 banks today

    best of luck
