Does anyone have experience of doing this visa at Savannakhet ?
Is it possible to go across the bridge very early in the morning and still make it to the Consulate in time ?
No financials required ?
wanted to go to Vientiane but they seem to want 100,000 baht in a Thai bank account ????

i just got s 60 day extension from Nong Khai for the same reason..dependent child...
Did not have to show a lot of papaerwork...took 15 mins..very straightforward.

Really...200k ?
I am due to go there next week to get the same type of visa .
When you say 'monthly balance' what do you mean ?
If you have payments coming in over 40,000 baht ...will this be enough ?

The funds come from a UK company to my Thai bank account every month for years.
The average amount is 100,000 baht per month and it usually comes between the 17th and 25th of each month.
It comes into my Krungsri account and is marked as an FX transaction.
Is this good enough to satisfy the requirement ?

thanks Dr Jack...
i can easily show 80k plus coming in every month for a year .. but when i tried to explain this arrangement to Immigration they did not seem to understand it.
would i perhaps need a covering letter from the company explaining it ?

Does a retirement visa ha e to be based on a pension ?
I am 50 but do not qualify for a UK pension yet...But...
i do have regular payments from a share in a company that i worked for in a 20 year period.
Does this qualify ?
If it does..
do the payments have to be on the same date ?

I am here on an 1 year O visa obtained from the Thai Consul in UK. I have been doing this for 3 or so years since my divorce from a Thai national. In the divorce I obtained custody of my son who holds both UK and Thai citizenship.
I would like to become a permanent resident.
I have a monthly income from my UK company of 120,000 bht per month.
Am I eligible as a parent of a Thai child to eventually applu for PR after 3 extensions...or do I have to work here also ?

i currently have an O visa on the basis of supporting my son (thai and british nationality) gained from the Thai consulate in London.
Next February I will turn 50 years old and I was wondering...will Immigration make me apply for a retirement visa instead ?
If they do and I neither have 800k in the bank or a pension..what are my options ?
I do have 120k come in every month from my company in UK...does that make things tricky ?

Hello All,
I am applying for my O visa by post at the Thai Embassy in London.
Does anyone know if the supporting documents (e.g.Tabien Baan, Court Docs, ) have to be signed by me ?
Also my wife's id.card copy..does that have to be signed by her ?

I got a.multiple.o visa from London in July to take.care of.my son in Thailand.
I went from my 90 day report at.Immigration and i noticed that on my blue departure slip..it was stamped 28th Nov...so i was a day on overstay.
The Immigration Officer told me that I had to go into Laos and come back again and that i could not sign in at immigration.
Was he correct ?

Thanks to all.....i went to the Consul with a copy of my passport..a copy of my son's birth certificate..and a copy of the court order..and all the originals. They specifically asked for the original court order and a copy which i gave. I was offered a multiple entry visa which I surprisingly accepted and collected it the next day.
Thanks to you all..especially Joe and Richy...I nearly didn't bring the court order !- 1

Thank you both. I will be driving to Mukdahan very early.
Do you know what the process to get across is ?
Is there safe car parking ? Do I have to park near the bridge and then go to the Bus station to get a bus in ?
