800k in bank - what happens if I pass away?
bbudd replied to khunbillmex's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
While a joint account is not acceptable to immigration ,you can still add your wife as signing partner I've done exactly that for Non O funds as well as the foreign deposit accounts in 3 different banks -
Paddy other side of perimeter wall Nice cool breeze most of the time No bugs to speak of Lot of frogs when its flooded-love the sound Only negative effect is the rat population after the harvest tends to move a lot Cats and dogs and owls take care of that

blood sugar IS controllable with proper diet. I no longer require medication to control mine I also experienced neuropothy in the past and found a herbal mix that effectively reversed the symptoms (once the blood sugar is under control) i took daily doses of- Vit B 12 Passion flower Prickly pear cactus Cordydalis and angelica All are available online from PipingRock at reasonable cost Took about a month to produce noticeable results, but now just take occasional maintenance doses

Just pick the lumber you need a little oversized and use a planer to smooth it to your satisfaction (electric planes are CHEAP here) 2x2's are actual dimension here ,so lots of room for processing " Mai dang " is inexpensive and lasts, but you want all red- not the white heartwood If its outdoor use be sure to treat for termites or it'll be done for in a year or less

Potatoes for fries / chips in Thailand
bbudd replied to Kenny202's topic in Western Food in Thailand
Generally possible to get great fries from Thai spuds Local green grocer now carry's the unwashed spuds in a box-large size brown skin Fried up a big batch last nite in sunflower oil Took a while to cook but came out nice and brown and crispy A step up from the usual washed potatoes we usually get in plastic bags -
Waterlogged Even with check valve and bladder tank our pump gets waterlogged and cycles way to often about once a month Shut off the pump and water supply and fully drain it by removing both bottom and top plugs Re-assemble and problem solved Total job only takes 10 minutes now I'm used to doing it

We had a Chinese neighbor- liked karaoke all night long What caterwauling Waited till they finally stopped one morning and set up all my speakers Played a combination of vomiting and cat fights at max volume They soon got the hint -
Not bad-only took 3 hours to re-wire main panel-install new ground rod and cable and change polarity on sub-panel Like always -hardest part was trying to get enough wire to do the changeover Not a spare inch on wires and everything stapled to the wall
-
Unfortunately the last slot in the panel will be taken by sub-panel,so ordered a few replacement protected nreakers What surge protector do you recommend for protecting technology outlets? Getting early start-don't know how long it'll take to do elect repairs today-so powers going off shortly
-
Guess thats the way I'll go then-install individual protected breakers Protect the showers mainly outside plugs are all sheltered in any case Probably a good idea to protect the fish pond as well Never had grounded circuits initially- done 30 years ago Only grounded my electronics and some appliances after the fact Thats why I thought I'd run grounded circuits and proper 3 prong outlets,at least to critical items We seem to get a lot of power spikes up here in the north Any suggestions on protection?
-
No worries-have a main shutoff before the panel so I can shut off all power Not having any luck sourcing the 100 Amp RCBO in square D Any idea who carries this? And THANKS your knowledge is well appreciated

Thought so-its wired backwards Live's on left neutral on right Verified with multi-meter from each lead to ground Never really looked at it till recently-job done by local electrician in my absence many years ago Sub-panel only needs 30 amp -only real draw is on aircon and fridge

https://www.lazada.co.th/products/grounding-bus-bar-i2375475409-s8047334733.html? hers what I thought I'd install for neutral bar
-
Have a OLD main panel that I'd like to upograde Looks like only a ground bar at top I'd like to install a new neutral bar and run some new wire for proper grounded plugs Presently they have live main feed connected to left of 100 Amp breaker and neutral connected to the right In a proper install with new neutral bar can I assume the proper connection would be main neutral lead to neutral bar and single live feed to main breaker If I run a sub-panel can I take " live" from other side of main 100 Amp breaker and neutral from new neutral bar? With live on one side of 100 amp breaker will the other side be "live" as well ?

I prefer pickled with dash of cloves and allspice for flavor Also makes a difference what type of vinegar you use (I have lots of options as I make my own vinegar's) Try BBQ beets-either straight on the grill or wrapped in foil Beet greens are a great vegetable dish steamed or blanched Also there easy to grow I usually dedicate at least one garden bed to just beets

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction kinda had me stumped Tomorrow will verify polarity at both panels and correct if necessary Nice to have knowledgeable folks around for assistance-much appreciated Your right about the ground fault-I've been too complacent Sort of if-it aint- broke attitude-may as well do a proper job if I'm in there LOL-even the overhead lighting is risky Had a mouse chew the wire and it shorted to the ceiling grid Melted the support wire and 3 rows of panels fell on the ground Sure woke me up fast -
