If they arrive on a boat from Calais, they are. Anyhow, it is all off topic as is your Brexit nonsense. It is about Thais being able to travel Visa free to the UK....and admitted as tourists. I say good to that.
It's not 'Brexit Nonsense'. Before Brexit there was a returns agreement with the EU whereby boat illegals could be returned to France. There is no such agreement now that the UK has 'taken back control'.

1.9 million vehicles this year compared to 1.84 million in 2023. That's a 2.2% decline?
Thai declines are different.

What did the family of the cop that Red Bull heir Vorayuth Yoovidhya killed? 100K THB I believe.
Here in Thailand the state is happy to separate the haves from the have nots again (as the Thaksin fiasco exemplifies).
Nobodies get next to nothing in compensation; somebodies get lavish compensation.
And if the prep is a somebody? They skate. If the prep is a nobody? Throw the book at them.
Here in Thailand that is called equity and justice.100k USD not Baht.

But you just claim asylum and it's open sesame.
and it's game on, for countless years, scamming the system.
All at the uk tax payers expense.
It needs to stop now.
Don't see asylum seekers living on the streets.
But I see my fellow countrymen on the streets, in every town and city
throughout the uk.
What a disgrace it all is.
And yes I'm am a uk Tax payer like many here.
There is a process to assess asylum claims and to allow or refuse entry to the UK. The Conservative Govt has been in charge of the country for well over a decade but has steadfastly refused to invest in the screening process allowing such a huge backlog of claims to build up.

I believe they land and are accommodated, taken care of. Once they have applied for asylum they are (they get refugee status). I am very much of the belief the UK really does not tell us the true total cost of all this, it is politically a hot subject.
Genuine Asylum Seekers are not illegal immigrants. Illegal Immigrants do not have a right to remain or claim any benefits and the current mess is squarely on the present Conservative Govt who have been in power well over a decade but have done little to solve the problem of illegal migration. The Brexit debacle has compounded the whole sorry mess.

People in the UK without a legal right to be there are not entitled to claim any benefits.

Many foreigners IMO think because Thais get away with crimes or short sentences some even ignored by the RTP, they think it's ok for them to follow suit. They even think they can drive a M/C better and faster than a Thai, I know that statement will bring a lot of criticizes, but in my local area it is true.
Faster, certainly but better? If they are better why is the accident and death rate here amongst motorcyclists so horrific?

This road was begun in 2014 and is still not opened. It was opened for a few days over New Year then closed again. Trees are growing out of various sections of the concrete work and for anyone at the Kanchanaburi end it's turned into a bad joke.

1 hour ago, blazes said:As I read this sentence, it means that Thai passport-holders already living in the UK will be allowed visa-free access when returning to the UK.
If it meant "all Thai persons holding a passport" can now visit UK visa-free, that sentence should read "to the United Kingdom".
Naturally, I could be wrong....
"allow Thai passport holders visa-free access to the United Kingdom on short-term visits for tourism or business."
Thai tourists aren't living in the UK so my take is all Thais will be eligible for 30days visa free.

So in 6 months of investigation by the Dept of Employment, 306,577 foreign nationals were investigated, of which 1,689, a whole half percent, were working illegally and of those 721 were directly competing with work that should have been done by a Thai. Hardly a threat to the Thai economy is it?

Well the weather map told us we were under a torrential downpour most of the day but it's time for bed now and not a drop has touched us in our part of Kanchanaburi.

Stand by for the next reincarnation 'Lets go Forward'. I'd wager they'll win a clear majority following PT's duplicity after the last election.

Ok, as I am reading this at 09.38 am today, and the news was published about 10 minutes ago. Hmm... the only conclusion is that someone has about 22 minutes to live, before getting crushed by cement.
The accident was reported by Thaiger yesterday. It appears as a cut'n'paste in Thaivisa today.

And therefore they don't need a loan.
Sometimes it pays to get a loan. A while ago the car I wanted was available on 0% interest. I tried to get a loan so I could leave the lump sum in the bank earning interest. 'Sorry don't lend to farang' despite long-term visa and pension well over immigration requirements. Cash it was and the bank missed out on some business.

Thailand doesn't seem to have resorted to murdering its opposition parties yet - they just lock them up and ban them (at the moment).
Bodies found weighed down with concrete in the Mekong suggest otherwise.

A long way to go before the actual GP is held then. Methinks the PM has jumped the gun somewhat.
