  1. Hi, I have a question / request. I have just been told that the Scandinavian (Daenen, Sweden and Norwegians) for a Lao visa on arrival, no fees have to pay more. I only knew it from Swiss for an ON-arrival visa (14 days). Does anyone have exact information and can confirm this or just a rumor again.

    Thank you

I don't understand having to travel over the border to get the 3mths visa stamp?. If you have a 12mths non- o visa and multiple entry visa already, don't you just have to go to immigration for a 90 day visit? Could you please let me know.

The Non - o - Multiple entry visa means , you have to cross a border every 3 month. The other, you mentioned, is a visa extension for 12 month, based on retirement or married to a Thai, Than you have to make your 90 day registration at your local immigration office.

You are wrong. Some Immigration offices can issue a non immigrant visa based upon qualifying for some type of extension. It has been possible for many years.

Thanks for the information I didn't know just checked it at the mfa-page and copied :         3.3 Foreign citizens who hold a Transit Visa (“TS”) or Tourist Visa
(“TR”) and wish to engage in business activities in Thailand may apply for a change of type of visa (e.g., from Tourist Visa to Non-Immigrant Visa) at the Office of the Immigration Bureau Office located at Government Center B, Chaengwattana Soi 7, Laksi, Bangkok 10210, Tel 0-2141-9889, www.immigration.go.th.  The granting of change of type of visa and extension of stay is at the discretion of the immigration officer.

  4. "Pattaya immigration officer will not change a tourist visa to a Category-O when you meet all requirements and more?   My brother has been turned down in a very rude way by the officer in Pattaya Immigration . "

Maybe I missed some part but you can not change a tourist visa to a O visa in any Immigration . A visa will be issued by an Thai Embassy or Consulate . Your brother hasn't ask for an extension of his old visa right ? That means the IO been right to refuse the visa , it's not an excuse for being rude.

  5. This is the definitive map for now. i decided to modify the look of the map. Do you find this one more clear and easier. Added more POI and rearranged some of them in the right position. And if anyone wants to print or use the map in their websites i have no problem with that.

    The map link is: http://postimg.org/image/xh2c8iejn/full/

I know its a year ago and all was perfect with the map but know it's gone again. Pictures from some girls but no map. Any chance to get the map back ?

  10. they could start with practicing the religion

Is Thai Buddhism a religion or a teaching?

Yes please, reform it post haste! I am sick of seeing monks smoking cigarettes, driving pick-ups or riding 3 wheelers....and I have heard there are some who drink alcohol and fraternize with woman.

    Totally disgusting behavior!

And eating meat or wearing 2nd hand animal skins.

It's more teaching and a philosophie. There is no God / Allah or something else People are pray to get enlightened same as Buddha. It's a common misunderstanding to say Buddhists praiing to Buddha. Buddha i gone to Nirvana and can not help anymore. He left the directions / teaching words how to behave and to live.

  11. It is the fate of all religions to be corrupted with time.

    BTW what is "Thai" Buddhism?

The term Thai Buddhism i lack of education and information becaue it dosn't exist. It is the Theravada school in Thailand supposed to be the original way but there are many others to ; Two major extant branches of Buddhism are generally recognized: Theravada ("The School of the Elders") and Mahayana ("The Great Vehicle"). Theravada has a widespread following in Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia (Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar etc.). Mahayana is found throughout East Asia (China, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, Taiwan etc.) and includes the traditions of Pure Land, Zen, Nichiren Buddhism, Tibetan Buddhism, Shingon, and Tiantai (Tendai). In some classifications, Vajrayana—practiced mainly in Tibet and Mongolia, and adjacent parts of China and Russia—is recognized as a third branch, with a body of teachings attributed to Indian siddhas, while others classify it as a part of Mahayana.

  12. I have used the Silver Star pool many times. Nice sized and clean pool. I managed to go there during the school day when it was quiet which was ideal for me. From memory it was about 50 baht per visit to use.

    Sounds great!

Where is it, by the way?

    Thank you

What is the typical way and also the easiest way to do this border run to Cambodia?

Depend where you live.If in Surin or Prasat just take a Minibus to the Chongchom Border, Sisaket you take a Minibus to Surin and change in the bus to Chongchom Border.or Sisaket via Taxi / Rentalcar to Chong Sam Nam (Phusing District)
