Of more interest is how you imported an ancient Roman upper-class country house.

Are you sure its even a law?
depends which 'Law' you're referring to:
The one on the statute books
or
the one that they would like to be there/or have just dreamt up
(quite a worldwide phenomenon with uniform folk - though endemic in Thailand)

I had a similar situation with a 12Call sim
Was some spammy daily charging 'service' the help at the call centre stopped it, refunded me and put a block on the account stopping any such BS from enacting itself in the future

Come to Thailand and criticize the government.
Can't do that at home can you.
Well they can
just doesn't end as well

Looks good for a deluge of 'Missing Japanese War Treasure' TV twaddle

The overall point is that a couple of 'foreigners behaving badly' incidents of late stimulated a typical knee jerk reaction with clarion calls for 'tightening-up' on foreigners by immigration.
As I confidently foresaw tightening-up on the ACTUAL laws a bit ho-hum and won't amount to anything, but the 'go get em floyd' rah rah speech to the troops is only likely to engender the rabid pursuit of their IMAGINED laws - as endured by the O.P.

Ah, so those golf carts from two different companies that I observed whisking passengers from their international arrival gates to immigration yesterday are fakes and don't exist.
I see.
Get with it
Only the ones that don't grease the right wheels at immigration don't exist (for long)

Well known Thai pearl of wisdom:

The Vid clip seemed devoid of the discharge
But assuming there was one prior to the clip and with the 'make safe' member of the pair clearly exclaiming 'he tried to kill us' to some Thai squawking away off-camera. It's easy to see a more benign interpretation.
Good luck rowing your way out of this one though.

Or use the UK model:
Let the detritus of the world float in on the tide - criminals, terrorists, mental cases come one come all
Give them subsistence, accommodation and healthcare for the duration of their stay
Have a meltdown in the corridors of government at the mention of them departing your shores

Never seen it in Pattaya (never looked TBH) but Mega Plaza (north end of Chinatown) Bangkok used to have tones of the stuff

What about the mentioned songthaew drivers feuding over a covey of Chinese passengers
could have commandeered the situation with a makeshift flag

What posses guys to buy into this condo nightmare?
If there's no designated parking space annotated to the unit.....shove it
Seriously you knew from the get-go that there were insufficient spaces and it's basically just a free-for-all. Now when you finally park in one you've got to do an entry/exit to avoid being taxed for staying in it - frankly its laughable.

Could really be a commercial decision on the part of Nat West - in that they don't like the competition from Wise.
I wouldn't pay much attention to Nat West - they closed my current account without giving any reason, in fact they actually stated that they wouldn't give me a reason and I was told not to call them. I complained at my local branch who looked over my account and agreed with me. The manager called the relevant department at their head office who told him they didn't have to give her a reason and refused to speak further!
I wanted to speak to them because I had always managed my account properly, I didn't have an overdraft and had never had such a low balance that direct debits were refused etc. They clearly thought they had good reason but I am 100% sure that they were wrong. I am certain that I could have explained - if I knew what it was. I wrote - no reply.
Just open an account elsewhere. I make regular trouble free transfers to Wise from my Santander and Co-op accounts.
Should have taken a leaf out of Farage's book and made a public access information request

Worthless idea. Makes about as much sense as pixilating movie scenes that show alcohol. The only person this helps is the person who prints labels.
Who most likely bears some familial connection to the guy pushing the idea through

What 'definition' is that?
At what point is your tourist status negated - is it with your first or second holiday home?
'Johnny Wagepacket' and his annual two weeks in the sun under his 'Kiss me Quick' hat - isn't the only 'tourist' type out there

You can increase the limit, then reset it lower afterwards.
Or just go into the bank with your passport and bankbook and collect the full amount..
Or go 'old school' and get them to make out a Bank Draft

Im not familiar with Bangkok Bank but my experience with others is that you can easily increase (online) the daily 'limits' to your requirements . Transfer or Branch/ATM cash

Don't fret even one single brain cell about it.... use an AGENT, all such ballyhoo and BS disappears and a fresh TM30 slip and extension stamp appear in your passport. (at a time to suit you)
