I agree with this.....well said! These guys come out with rubbish,on the contrary the room tariffs ought to be lowered and just fill up and raise the occupancy so the whole of the Tourism Industry begins to move forward.....an unoccupied room is better filled even if it means below normal price....I write this having worked in Tourism Industry in Mykonos Greece where they reduced the rates drastically just after post Covid in 2021.... They succeeded.... didn't realize any profits but didn't loose out as anticipated had they kept the tariffs at normal rates....In 2003 when the Greek Economy was collapsing due to Euro crisis,all the Tourism Industry reduced their rates by up to 50%.....And no commission to 3rd parties!...As expected a lot of hotels went into bankruptcy and taken over by others too!

Help please, I am working out some arithmetic!My UK Bank tells me they charge £50 Total including Swift transfer.I have Kbank transfer charges.. Copy enclosed....am I reading this correctly?.... Example 50K transfer would cost @0.25%+$25?.. Kbank only accept Swift transfers?...so I understand from them!? I use Wise also but had a dissatisfying transfer from US Dollars(1000) as I had to $35on top of $10>>>>I knew I had share this but 3 times is ridiculous isn't it!?... Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know how these numbers are compiled?I used to work in Tourism industry for many years and we never knew exactly how these statistics were put together...... also this average spending is laughable.....it is impossible to predict these!

You know this is a normal way of Tourism these days.... You mention Italy...may be you know TripAdvisor scandal a few years ago about their incharge or lead falsifying thousands of reviews and accepting under the table income..... ripping tourists is in the DNA of the travel industry....I lived in Mykonos Greece and worked in Tourism industry there..... Right now as I write there is jaw dropping reading charging of restaurant billings on TripAdvisor..... from the 90s when the restaurants used to give a larger portion so the travellers would return to the same place through out their holidays, they now give less to the same customer and more to the local!!!....I have seen this so many times that I can remember and because I speak the language I have shamed them countless times and they actually realized.... giving and offering generously returned in multifold especially at the beach guest relations I did.... every Third bottle of whatever was with compliments.... the guests returned and stayed their entire holidays and spending thousands of Euros......same philosophy in Samui where we had a small restaurant which people made their second home for their entire stay.... enjoying the garden during the day, children playing around when it was closed as we opened in the evenings... sorry I digressed.... but enjoyed writing this!????????
