Hello all I'm Shortly due to apply for a year extension to my visa based on retirement. I have had in the excess of 800K in my Thai Bank account for more than a year. I am aware that the funds have to be in place 3 Months before and 2 Months after. Here's my confusion, my friend told me that he had in the excess of 1 Million baht in The SCB account and that immigration or the Bank had frozen the whole account until the 2 Months after had passed. He said it was 4 years ago and as I said he was with The SCB. My account is with The Bangkok Bank Has anyone heard of this or did he get it wrong? Another question, if you could kindly help, this will be my first extension since my initial deposit over a year ago, do I need to order a year's worth of statements or enough to show the 3 months before? Thank you

Hi everyone I have in the past been using the 65K monthly transfer to secure my yearly retirement extension and was told that I had to ensure that my monthly bank transfers were labeled "International transfer" and that they would not accept transfers from Western Union etc that did not contain that statement. It now suits me to use the 800K in the bank method and just top up if required. Are there any restrictions or rules on how my top up payments are deposited into my Thai Bank, ie do my top up's have to prove to have come from abroad or could I now use a company such as Western Union etc. Thank you in advance

Hi Everyone I live in The Pattaya area I have had a Thai Driving License for 16 years but was unable to renew it as I was stuck in The UK due to Covid restrictions. My License expired last August 2021. I am happy to go to the test center etc but I am not so good on my legs if I have to queue for long periods, which I recall the case there. Can anyone recommend a good service that could assist me to complete the forms etc and perhaps call me up to the appropriate section when needed. Many thanks

Hello Everyone I am a bit confused and would appreciate some advice. I originally had a multiple entry O visa from 2009 and have been receiving extensions based on Retirement. I like others have lost my Retirement extension status due to being locked down in England and now would like to get that reinstated. I have heard that I could enter Thailand on a Tourist Visa then apply to get an O visa and finally get an extension based on Retirement subject to fulfilling the financial requirements. Unfortunately, my wife (English) is nervous to do that just in case of a problem getting the O visa in Thailand. Therefore, I am in the process of applying online via e-visa for whatever is the basic type of O visa which will allow me to get an extension when in Thailand. My departure is for 13th January via plane change in Singapore, my ticket duration is 141 days, will that be a problem when applying for the O visa as I don’t really want to apply for a multiple entry O? Also, from the dropdown menu on e-visa I can only see an O visa for 60 days to visit Thai family as I believe other 90 day visa like STV cannot be extended, am I missing something. Your help would be appreciated. By the way myself and wife are 70 years old Thank you

Hello, How far ahead of your departure date can you apply for the Thailand Pass or do you think that it may not be dealt with in the order that they receive it as I want to allow ample time and hopefully avoid the stress that others have experienced. Thank you
