A common but inexplicable misconception. Iran and ISIS are sworn enemies. US spent years trying to rid Syria of ISIS, then Russia and Iran joined the fray and cleared Syria of ISIS in months. Iran has always been our ally in the fight against ISIS.

My main point was, that ISIS would not have taken over so much of Iraq if we had maintained a presence. I would know a little about that, I was in Al Assad, and Tikrit. ISIS in Syria, was their problem.

  2. How recent do you need? The Search Function shows these, the second topic was started in March.

Also, is this your first year on an "O-A" entry, or coming to the end of a second year. Or in fact, are you really only asking about an "O" entry extension?

    http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?s=121299c8fff6ba7741f4e0e84ef84e95&app=googlecse#gsc.tab=0&gsc.q=retirement extension CW

I saw those earlier posts, but I could not find what I needed, a recent complete list of required documents for CW.

I got my O-A on Nov. 12, 2014, with "enter before" date of Nov 11, 2015. I re-entered July 3, 2015, admitted until July 2, 2016. This will be my first time extending at CW.

    Thanks

Thanks for the clarification, I just wanted to make sure you were using the "O-A" to full advantage.

  4. Anyone wandering around with 53kUSD in cash must be up to no good, or stupid.

There are banks for this sort of thing.

Banks don't necesssarily solve the problem, the IRS has seized several accounts for "Structuring"(keeping transactions to less than $10K). Those accounts include a lady operating a Bakery, a father's account for his daughter's education, and a construction company. As in the asset confiscation, no criminal conviction is necessary.

  5. OP I am not certain you are getting the correct advice here. Better to send a message to Ubonjoe, he is the expert and you will know for certain. According to my knowledge you have 7 days after your WP is canceled to leave the country or to convert to another visa (I went from Non B extension with a WP to retirement recently without leaving the country). When you apply for your Non B you present the company documentation and job offer and based on that you receive the Non B. Any extension are also granted based on your WP/employment. As I said contact Ubonjoe.

Also, wrong. Why don't you guys do a little research, this has been discussed hundreds of times.

  6. your visa is linked to the work permit and employer.

so you cancel work, you also cancel your work permit too, you also cancel you non-o B visa too

visa and work permit are linked.

the day you cancel the work work, your b-visa is cancel too

you can apply for a 7 day extension on the day you cancel you work to arrange things and then have to leave the country.

    Wrong.

  7. A Thai visa is valid from the day of issue.

You can test the truth of this by buying a visa then attempting to use it past the "enter before" date clearly marked on the visa.

    Oncearugge, thanks for the reply.

What if I got a single entry visa (valid for three months) and entered Thailad 60 days from now. Would I only have 30 days to stay in Thailand, or would I have the full 60 (or 90 with extension) to saty since I entered within the three month validiity window?

Yes, there is a definitive answer, and it can be found in the thousands of posts, discussing the subject. You are actually asking about two different things. A Tourist Visa is valid to be used, from the date of issue, until the "enter before" date. The permission to stay, begins when the visa is used to enter the country. So one would be stamped with a permission to stay of 60 days, even if entering just before the "use by" date. A person is staying in Thailand based on the permission to stay, not the visa. The search function works wonders, and the Pinned Topics Section has great information.

  8. I suspect you are talking about a retirement extension of stay rather than the non immigrant O-A visa issued for retirement (which does not require funds to be in a Thai bank)?

Really? I thought 800,000 was needed to even get the initial visa. Sorry to get OT but what is needed for initial visa May be an option for my need of 90 more days.

A person applies for an "O-A" Visa in their home country, if applying for an "O"(Not the same thing!) at a neighboring country, etc. they may ask for the money to be in a Thai bank.

As to can't open an account, hundreds of posts, and even a Pinned Topic, in the Jobs, Economy Section, unfortunate people can't be bothered to read, and use the search function.

  9. No his visa is dead and gone as we have told him - he can stay until September but he can not return for a new stay. And you never get a one year stay with a re-entry permit.

You do if your re-entry permit is a multi-entry. Immigration confirmed this for me last week when I was applying for a re-entry permit.

Read the other posts. Again, if you do not know what you are writing about, keep your fingers off of the keyboard.

  10. I got my very first NON-O-Retirment almost 3 months ago (May 07), so in total I was told 15 months due to first time.

I was told to report before August 03 to Immigration for the 3 monthly thing, which should be free.

Nobody every told me I should leave the country and do a visa run crap again. I am actually happy I am 50 now (happy being older) and can do the retirement visa, so I would not have to leave the country/visa-runs/ED-visa anymore and now you are saying I still have to go on a visa run?

No, you do not have to do a border run, he was confused by your post. If you do leave, be sure to obtain a re-entry permit.

The fine for being late is normally 2,000 Baht. The latest change I've seen is reporting 14 days before, and up to 7 days after. You could use the search function, considering this is a question that has been asked a thousand times before.
