I only worry about mechanical disc brakes getting easily distorted when heaving into the car's back and then getting noisy/slowing while riding the bike.

Easy to do. Good explanation on Youtube by SickBiker: How To Improve Cheap, Mechanical, ONE Piston Disc Brakes For More Braking Power

one thing about bike shop in Thailand is that there are 'Main Dealers' or Importers, who also has their own shop/showroom and probably has the best range of their products and slick looking website, but won't undercut on price with any 'mom&pop' dealers who distribute their products, so you'll get better price from the local bike shop

Bike Outlet closed down. A beauty business will open pretty soon.

Thanks guys, I have been having a shop around and spotted a few bikes by the manufacturer Kaze, who are Japanese. I haven't heard of them before, are they any good. Bikes tend to be between 10-15k, which is a bit cheap but not too cheap in my opinion. What sort of reputation do they have, does anyone know?

  4. I've bought stuff from all of them, except the last one:
    Facebook + website:
    ลาดปลาเค้าจักรยาน LKBike
    Nakornthai Bike
    AIM BIKE
    Let's Bike by Goro
    WorldBike Bangkok
กม.8จักรยาน (they used to have their own website, they now use Shopee)
    BOVELO Bangkok Bike Shop

  5. Cracked frame on my 29er (I might sell some of the parts one day)

No more classifieds on this website? I already checked Craigslist, Facebook... Do you have a bike for sale in good condition? 26", 29", hybrid, MTB, light foldable...

    Thank you / Bangkok

  6. Don't buy parts if you don't know how to replace them yourself.

Clean the bikes and find a bike shop to take care of everything (you'll find one, they don't have much work).

Search Bike Shop on Google Maps --> find their website or Facebook (I get answers when I send a PM on Facebook)

Thank you so much for the advice! Although they couldn't help me as they specialize in racing bikes and I needed help with my mountain bike, they were able to direct me to a store 8km away on Lat Prau Road. They sorted the bike out. Good job! LK bike.

They didn't want to clean/fix your bike for some reason. I bought a few parts from them in the past, and the last time I went there (Sept. 28), they cleaned the freehub on my Trek MTB.

This is a resource I’ve attempted to use before...  the issue I found; in Bangkok 90% of the websites (links) do not work and we are stuck with the ‘main stockists’ who seem disinterested in selling anything.

Most cyclists know this one. Trek importer; next to Lumphini Park/Bangkok. Prices and sizes: https://www.probike.co.th/en/products/A-002-02/trek-bike-mountain-bike
