  1. I'm in dispute with them regarding a transfer from Nationwide BS in UK. It's still be investigated by both parties. It was only £20 as it was a trial transfer. Despite the love in here from bods, I don't trust them. Two UK pensions now sent to Bangkok Bank.
  2. Just got my third shot, a Pfizer booster in the towns clinic. They have put a sticker on that yellow Thailand Certificate of Covid 19 Vaccination, with the vaccine details and QR codes. The nurse told me to go to the main hospital in the Amphur for a vaccination passport. Do you need that for the Thai Pass or will the yellow certificate be acceptable. Flying to UK via Dubai in August and apparently not required for UK entry.....???
  3. Yes DWP will pay my state pension due this August into my Bangkok Bank account via Citi Bank. Still pondering if to take the 13 week option or every month. My military pension has been paid into my BKB account, via Citi Bank for many years. Though this is strictly not a private pension (government service pension) which you pay UK income tax on if above your pers allowance. Q. Didn't CIti Bank sell off the Bangkok retail Branch to UOB, Singapore some months back....
  4. Nice one jacko45k, where you pluck those figures from? One of Anutin's press conference's...... Or did I miss the irony.......
  5. Who has one and are they any good...... Local Big C had a display showing the new 2.3L twin turbo. It was a two door version with a 7 speed auto box, looked pretty meaty. Wondering if they had gripped the quality control over here. I run a new Navara King Cab for 3 years or so back in 07. Used to shake, rattle a bit too much over the bad roads, swapped it for a Toyo Vigo, much better put together truck ... opinions will vary......
  6. Just received my statement via e-mail from my mobile banking app and took only a couple of hours. On the PC the details are fine but struggle to read all the info once printed out. Maybe need better reading glasses..... Two things I noticed on the statement, my military pension which has been paid into my savings account for many years now has BAHTNET 'under the particulars ' column and further along the same line GPSD. Would that be an issue at immigration??? for the combined or income methods and could someone help with the GPSD abbreviation........ THX
  7. No problem, if the US decides not to sell. I imagine the F35 can fly at night, well that's Thai AF .....
  8. Most of us are not glued to the forum pages all day, so it's news to me, thx OP.
  9. I am a youthful 65yo, hopefully my starters can get to 40 years....! These are my two babies. I learnt that the Americans give them names. I'll have a think about this....
  10. I must point out as far as SD is concerned I am a complete nooby. Most of my breads so far are low hydration 63-70%. All done.by hand mixing, shaping etc. I did splash out on a decent Dutch oven, but that's not essential.
  11. Any sourdough bakers on here? I have been baking bread and making pastry over here for many years. Built a half decent bakery at the back of my house. I'm easing off now and recently taken up making sourdough bread just for myself. IMO once eaten you'll never go back to yeasted breads.. You can easily order quality flour online now. I find the biggest issue here is baking in very hot temps. Though I have found out various ways to deal with this. Anyway here's some of my breads, Pain au Levains, mixed flours
  12. What insurance?, if he has a scooter, probably just the por ror bor, third party CTPL.
  13. Built my place in 07 out here in the boonies of South Phetchabun. We had to go to Tessaban for some <deleted>, but the architect there drew up plans for us. Cost about 3500 Baht Of course the builder had other ideas and just gave a cursory look over the plans. Again he was *family", so. No issue... Tessaban did send some electrician bod to come around to check all was good. This all in the heady days of 69 B to £1 and 3 red bricks for 1 Baht.
  14. Don't get your hair cut on a Friday and never tip the barber. I read that in Lonely P...... some years back....
  15. Well here in the sweltering plains of Phetchabun province, ( a line from that scholarly masterpiece - 'Private Dancer', its a cool 29c. Normally our hottest month of the year is May, during which the annual rocket festival is held . Firing off home made scuds into the sky to encourage the rains, which usually comes anyway. NB: Bung Fai hasn't been held for the last 2 years, far too many folk, drinking, gambling and generally enjoying themselves....
  16. Usually an in house proforma. Phetchabun Imm used to gleefully hand your masterpiece back to you. Made you draw the map there in a small square on A4 paper, and complete the signature block.
  17. I was thinking that too. During my time in the world's smallest and finest Air Force we regularly used some very old ammunition on live firing camps. On one the 1000lb- ers were older than me. Date of manufacture 1955......
  18. Great Post. I follow Barrows and a few others on twitter. I keep asking him how he blags all those freebie's. He needs to lay into the Brit Embassy a bit more. The look at us crowd gloating about their incredible achievements here. Where were our vaccines.....
  19. Clearly last December rules were not being followed or enforced. You know nothing about my abilities. Clever........
  20. I was in Mai Phim just before Christmas. My favourite go to beach. All places that serve up food was openly selling alcohol. Had a few while sat on my beach deckchair...
  21. I presume you mean Phetchabun City, as this is a big province. At the Army Barracks, Battle Horse yesterday we were all drinking merrily in the golf club house which serves food, so classed as a restaurant. Bottles and glasses on the tables, no problems. In Wichian Buri Town there are three farang run bars, all now restaurants too. Draught Leo in the one I drink in. As for timings,.. Who knows...
  22. Lazada sell parts for Hilux Vigo. I have bought timing belt kit and the aircon micro filters from them. Also do plenty of mo-cy parts. Just bought a new battery for the Wave.
  23. Vibhavadi Hospital in Chatuchak District. On Vibhavadi Rangsit Road has a good urologist. It's a private hospital but the Doc is a good bloke. Supports Liverpool and we spent some time talking about English footy. I cannot remember his name but they sorted me out. One of those mysterious infections from a liaison....
  24. Booze is not cheap in Thailand, unless you drink the local rocket juice and not many tourists will drink that. I can just about remember our run a shores in Bangkok...... All those green and white tickets..
