    He can only exted it by 7 days, if he can show a ticket out of the country within those 7 days, for 1,900 baht.

    If he leaves and returns at a land border, he will get 15 days. If he returns by air, he will get 30 days.

    He can go to Vientianne and apply for a free double entry tourist visa.

    Thanks well the update from him is

    He phoned the Rayong Immirgration Office today ,and was told that as he is from Poland he can not even get an extra 7 day's

    And also he can not do a boarder run for the 15 day free visa on arrival , he has to apply on arrival and pay 1,900 ,at a land boarder,

    or fly in and pay 1,900 for 30 days,

    So he 's of to Vientianne.

    Hi just a real quick question which I think I know the answer already , but its a semi urgent plea for info

    My polish friend has ben here on a tourist visa 60 days , he then extended it by 30 days , ok so far

    He belives he can extend it again by 14 days for 1,900 baht , but I think I read somewhere he can not do it , and has to leave the country and get a new visa

    Lost Passport So No Departure Card.

    2 years ago i lost my departure card and called up the airport I was told

    to go to into Bangkok , which i did the lady at the desk was not very happy with me but after a few mins

    checking the date I arrived she looked up my arrival card ,then on a new departure card she crossed out the number on the bottom

    and wrote the number from my arrivel card, then stapled it into my passport with 3 staples ,and said ok now good bye

    Oh I think they will do the same at the airport but it will cause a delay so leave extra time to get it done

    They're not getting involved, nothing mentioned about that. Lots of outside countries just don't wanna get too involved with business here from overseas, seeing the constant instability.

    Its time the Americans stopped trying to run everyone elses Countrys sort out your own back yard .

    Its a dog thing. Dogs eat poop. Its not a soi dog thing at all. Even my sister's shih tzu back in the US likes to eat cat poop out of the cat box. This is why I always shudder when I see people letting their dogs lick their faces.

    Yuk I am the same, I was told once that if you have a cut and let your dog lick it will heal better and quicker,no Ta I will stick to savlon cream ,Yuk Yuk blaaa ( with a big shiver).colino

    Those of you from UK how severe is the penalty for first time offense?

    Considering your over the limit and no accident involved.

    On 1st conviction for drink driving magistrates MUST disqualify for at least 12 months, + points on license + a largish fine, 2nd offense at least a 18 month ban + points and fine, maybe a spell in prison especially if near Christmas.

    Dont forget as well the points and the disqualification stay on your license for ten years.

    Making it very expensive to get insured, and the courts can make you retake your driving test and get a medical report from a GP, ( that can cost 60 pound + just for the report ) oh and they like to get you in court and banned within 7 days

    I am not stupid, builder or not, if I train as a teacher then I am a teacher. That's how it works.

    I have sold my firm and I'm going to let out my house. All paid for.

    So 45k is good enough for me. We can't all be high flyers working on ex-pat wages!!

    And what do you mean 45k won't get a work permit? Of course it will.

    Over here being a teacher with a TEFL or any other certificate does not make you equel to a teacher that has spent years at Uni and holds a degree

    You have sold your firm thats good but dont blow your cash here and end up with nothing (like so many before you).

    You will not earn 45k that is for sure, just look on ajarn.com to see the real wages.

    Also you would be very very lucky to get a work permit and a Non B visa. I am not on expat money or anything like it, I have a TEFL diploma and I am ex Merchant Navy and also I have done these jobs in Private and Government schools, and I know what I am talking about.

    In my last school I was teaching Math, Science, Art and PE in a English program and I was only earning 37k a month and had to be at school from 07,45 till PM also we had to do gate duty twice a week and a morning talk to the whole school once a week, my paid hours were 22 hours a week.

    But you can add on another 10 hours for all those little extra things they want you to do.

    As a teacher you will not earn much more.

    Whilst I was there at Christmas I met a guy, who I am still in contact with, who earns 45k a month.

    The Uk is slowly falling apart, jobs are scarce. There is nothing wrong with someone wanting to change their career at any age.

    I guess I just wrote my original post to say Hi and introduce myself. I know that meeting people is not easy when you first move abroad and my friend told me about meetings you lot have.

    First 45k a month no way not on a TEFL or any other certificate.

    Second even at the poor pound rate giving her 500 amonth man your luv struck

    Third dont meet ma and pa and give them 5k .

    Please mate dont fall for the honey trap.you will end up broke in the pocket and broken hearted

    If you are lucky you will end up teaching about 24-26 hours aweek to a class of 35+kids in a class room with no air con just a fan. dripping in sweat for about 30k.and if thats in Bangkok that is not nearly enough to live on , your already giving her about 24,000 baht a month.

    what was her wage at the hotel 5-7,000 baht a month.

    Think about it for a while and take your time.

    While it's easy to say she tossed her life away, know that it's not uncommon for gangs / mafia, especially Asian and African, to force these young girls to do this. I have no idea her case, but I've read about many cases where they threaten to kill their famlies and so on. Very sad stuff.

    The sad part is, every government knows about this, and the prisons around the world are full of poor women (and stupid ones) who have been caught doing this.

    The fact that "cops were tipped off" tells me they used her to take the fall so that many others carrying drugs would pass without fail. That is the typical decoy system used, and the cops are too freakin stupid to ever catch on. They probably let millions of dollars worth just slip through as while they were looking for this desperate Filipina, who will now spend the rest of her life in prison, while the African gang she did this for will continue to gather off Soi 3 and sell their drugs without problems, and usually on overstay and here illegally. It's the same story with this type of African in every country. I'm not sure why the police here do not do sweeps of that area, as they do in Hong Kong, and deport those who are here illegally, as you can count on them being up to no good.

    The police used to sweep Soi Africia (3/1) every couple of month then the raids suddenly stopped. For the past year they have spread unchecked up to Asoke where the drug trade florishes and any crime remains in plain view. Lower Sukhumvit rightly deserves it's title "Bangkok Sewer".

    Yes, they used to exterminate the rats in the Sukh 3/1 nest quite often but there seems to be more of them than ever these days. Huay Khwang , Din Daeng and Petchburi Rd seem to have growing infestations as well.

    Man with these guys taking over the soi's its only going to get worse , the drugs, fake documents. and scams will drag BKK down .

    There needs to be a massive crack down and clear up of the area .kick em out and save the soi's just take a look at Spain or france they have a major problem with the Africains. Colino
