  1. About three years ago I was told that no medical school in Thailand will accept any foreigners. But! The Thai Red Cross said they’ll accept foreigners who will donate all their organs and then they will create the body after they’re done. It’s only in Thai so you have to get a Thai to arrange where to send the forms. Someone will have to interpret for you and you will have to sign the form. I keep the card in my wallet and had the power of attorney person take a picture of it.

    I didn't know that.

I remember a few years ago a friend who is a football coach went to Italy and said the pizzas wernt what he thought they would be

I wonder where the Hawaiian pizza started

I’m born and raised in Hawaii. Hawaiian pizza was created by a Greek chef in Canada. It has nothing to do with Hawaii

  3. I had diverticulitis and had to go to Bangkok Hospital Pattaya. After I stabilized I decided to fly to Hawaii to consult with my doctor. It was about three months prior before I would renew my retirement visa so I knew I wouldn’t make it back in time. Immigration at Jomtien said they do it for 19,000 baht. That was before the pandemic so I don’t know if the policy is the same for emergency situations.

  4. While in Hawaii Bangkok bank New York wouldn’t let me do a domestic transfer to an account number which is linked to my Bangkok Bank Pattaya. I’m back in Pattaya and have Wise.com take from my American Savings Bank in Hawaii right to my Bangkok Bank in Pattaya showing an international transfer every time. I have no problems. Make sure when they ask for the reason you scroll down to where it says for long term stay in Thailand.

  5. When I send anything from Pattaya to anyplace and I forget to use EMS for tracking it doesn’t get there. They got your money you spent on sending it and they must throw it away. But, when I sent it by EMS for tracking it always gets there because they don’t want to lose face that they are responsible and have to compensate you!

  6. I’m with Kaiser in Hawaii. Even if you have HMSA you can’t use it out here. When I had a hernia operation I had to pay in full. Then when I went back to Hawaii I had to show the bill to Kaiser and they reimbursed me most of it. I have Pacific Cross in Thailand but if I have any type of medical procedure I have to pay in full then give it to Pacific Cross and they’ll reimburse on what they see fit.

  7. I went to Pattaya Memorial Hospital and had a hernia surgery. I know a British guy that had one a week earlier. Both of us had our hernias come back. I went to Hawaii and got another surgery. My surgeon in Hawaii said the first surgery they used hardly any mesh. Don’t go to Pattaya Memorial Hospital!

  8. From Naklua road I see a big building with Snooker Pattaya written on it. I tried to walk it from the first soi off Portisarn but there was a big dog in the middle of the soi. Can someone tell me if it’s a snooker hall or just a place that sells snooker tables or supplies.

  9. The North Star Library has shut down and the language instructors have been released and they went back to their provinces. I had lunch with them on their last day. They told me that in the future it might open again but under new management. When that will be nobody knows. They’ll hire a new staff but the language classes will be up in the air!

  10. I did my evisa in Hawaii before I came back to Thailand in late November. When they approved it I printed a stickerless visa. I did a bill with my address on it. I followed the recommendation that the people on Facebook’s “Thailand’s Reopening” group said which was the Thai consulate in L.A. seemed to favor Google chrome web browser and a gmail address. It was good advice and I got approved. The Thailand Reopening group on Facebook was a really big help!

  11. I gave myself four weeks in advance. I did the flight arrangements, hotel Sha+, Travel insurance. Then I put in for the tourist visa. The evisa was the hardest but once I submitted everything and it was pending then I did the Thailand pass which was easier. Everything got approved-I did the RT-PCR and now I fly from Hawaii to Japan to Thailand tomorrow.
