Want to connect to Internet through mobile phone's modem. Does anyone know what the dial-up number is? Is it *99h or what? Thank you for any help.

Is anyone using 3G in Bangkok with handphone and laptop? Which service are you using? Where did you buy the service and what are you paying? What area in Bangkok are you using it.

Just insist that one of True's technicians come and get it working. You'll have to call and set up an appointment for them to come -- that's the biggest problem.

Where is the training of the Internet police going to come from? It is hard to imagine Thai police asking Internet cafe owners to show them their logging records.

Colonel Sanders is giving another one his fiery speeches...
-
Some observations - the crowd inside Government House does not look nor sound enthusiastic - maybe they're hot, maybe they're tired, who knows - but despite the fiery speeches of some of the presenters, the audience seems halfway disinterested.
Not quite the type of support I would've expected to see.
I had the same feeling in watching the proceedings tonight... Not nearly as enthusiastic as this time last night... But then again, I wouldn't be either...if I'd been there for 24+ hours straight in the heat, rain, dark, etc....
I'm not so sure it's the same people - I believe they are also doing shifts of a sort. As people come in, some people will leave and make way.
That said - given the supposed tenseness of the situation, the chance that the police could come storming in any minute, etc - if one were really fervent about the PAD, their adrenaline would be running very high and undoubtedly they'd be very vocal as well.
I don't get that feeling at all - to me it seems more like they are resigned to possibly being arrested.
The crowd tonight is locked in for the night. Very sad for all those who thought they'd just come for the entertainment. I wonder what they'll eat for breakfast?

Hey Daffy -- where did you buy the playTIME?

Why not just mail the CD to your son for a little over 100 baht. It should only take 6 days to the US or UK.

Perhaps a bit of sarcasm may be appropriate at this point.

Steve happens to be a friend of mine and he's been totally screwed by his ex. He had built a beautiful house, basically a large freeform pool with the house built around it. In the back were ponds with islands with various orchids and tropical plants. His ex's family has now moved in and basically turned it into a cesspit. The one thing that has always pissed me off about the attitudes here is that people who come to Thailand should never trust their wives. Where I grew up, it was a given that you trusted your wife 100%. I've been married 3 times, once to a Korean for ten years who due to military commitments divorced amicably and I still miss. My second wife was Thai whom I married to ensure a job and who preceded to relieve me of 15 million Baht. Really stupid!!
My present wife of 12 years is also Thai and we have two great sons and I would be totally lost without her. I trust her and her family 100%. I had nothing when we married, but have now kicked it up to about 150,000 a month. Sorry about all the rambling, but Steve and I grew up in the same kind of environment where you trusted people. It is an extreme shock when you come to a place where most people are not honest.
It really is a shame that most Thais will steal the shirt off your back if you're not looking. Never give them the opportunity and you're alright.

Corporate... so you get to connect 5 computers, and you get a fixed IP... big ******* wow! You still only get 2Mbps, and you're still paying 118 baht per hour. And even with a fixed IP, there's still an insufficient amount of international bandwidth and your speed isn't going to be 100% at all times.

85,000 baht per month is ludicrous and laughable. It works out to 2,833 baht per day, and that comes to 118 baht per hour, and roughly 20 per minute. Only in Thailand would anyone be stupid enough to come up with these kinds of prices.

Happy Home Cable in my neighborhood has 73 channels now, and they're all crap. Premium channels aren't free.

Try running Process Explorer to see what programs are hogging all your memory. Possibly a virus of some kind.
