I love the deflection from a few of the posters. How about the fact that Britian has become a third world country in it own right. But every country has there issues no one is above a hard look at their problems.

This is an arrogant fool, who was booted out of immigration, due to his constant ranting about the evil nature of foreigners. He had no business being appointed to a high position within the RTP. Maybe a janitor, or a street cop. Maybe.
His reputation as a crime fighter is hogwash, and just great PR on his part.
He is guilty by association. Anyone in that position has to be corrupt. The RTP is the greatest pyramid scheme in Thailand.
Where is he hiding the billions of baht?
LOng term stayers in Chiang Mai have a different look on Big Joke. If you wanted to get an extension of stay show up at 4am to cue up maybe you would get one and a few other things going on. Big Joke shows up and does a tour and actually talked to afew people standing in line. He leaves town and a few days later the hammer falls immigration will be open from 0600 till the days business is complete all people standing in line will be waited on. His actual leadership turned the immigration office in CM around. It took them awhile to get all the backlogged business taken care of and the officers were not happy working 12 hour days but his action turned CM immigration around

The incident has not been reported in Thai or English language news until now.
The victim, identified as Jan, was attacked from behind while sitting on a sidewalk by a German national who is known to have been living in Hua Hin for some time and is associated with a local martial arts club.
The incident, captured on CCTV, shows the assailant approaching Jan unsuspectedly before violently assaulting him, resulting in severe head injuries.
According to medical professionals in Thailand, Jan underwent a 13-hour surgery to address multiple skull fractures and is currently in a coma with an uncertain prognosis.

Interestingly the meniscus has just freed itself from the joint and it's back to normal, now i have time I'll pursue with Queen Sirikit, i already have an appointment, but whole process will take months most likely
Do your research you want the Dr. not the hospital. Drs. usually work in several hospitals. When I was researching my knee replacement you want some one on your knee who does a lot of the surgery you may need my knee Dr. in Thailand said he did 30 to 40 knee replacements a month. You do not want someone on your knee who has only done a few surgerys at least 10 amonth

Some hotels won't let you check in with just Thai driver license now, 'policy is for passport'
What exactly is required of them in order to report T.M. 30? the passport number on driving license might not be current is understandable
for hotels that is this strict about reporting I doubt pink ID card would be acceptable too, it's not like they can put you down as a Thai person checking in
This has been going on for a couple of years. the bank started requiring passport now before I show drivers licenses

How did he do it, how did he do it, remember that Great Britian with the various schemes of the Tories has become a 3 rd world country in those 27 years. That would include the foreign service everything privatised to make someone a millionaire

It’s always been going on, just it’s flavor of the month to highlight it at the moment.
Plenty of crap going on with Thai people as well, but foreigners behaving badly is what’s generating click atm.
might change in a while in terms of reporting, will continue in terms of reality

More than likely plenty of PTT stations along the route to stop at for a 7-11, amazon, KFC , and Thai food no need to go looking for a place to eat as PTT has everything to provide the driver. When I was touring around on my scooter i would always stop at a PTT station best facilities usually clean toilets and handicap if needed. The only time none were around would be really off the beaten path.

You got a ticket yet do you have seat selectionif so stop worrying and enjoy the flight. The dreamliner is suppose to be more comfortable than airplane built before it. The dreamliner has been in operation before covid.

To bad the other bike wasn't knocked into shape before the trip. Nice ride, never made it that far south only as far as HuaHin on my PCX finally parked it when to much problem with leg. I was riding around Surin a few years back and noticed a young guy following me. Pulled into Hotel parking and he came in behind me. The only thing out of his mouth was did you ride all the way from Chiang Mai to Suring and I said sure did, give it a try someday. He took off after giving me his Phone number if I had any problems. Nice kid.

Every year it is the same story, a few bad apples cause damage to the tourist who comes in spends his or her money and leaves on time with a good memory of their trip but a few bad apples always get the lions share of the story

By the way I caught Covid in Thailand how do you square that one,

I watched the video last night on channel 3 this guy even drunk kick some butt. He even got into it with some customers who tried to control him. He put down one guy and then that guy gets up and wants somemore but cooler heads prevailed and held the overmatch in a hurry you man back as all he was going to get was a whipping. This guy kept 4 cops off him and then the taser arrived lights out.

I did however presume the big bike was probably at fault and was probably ridden by the Russian. Stereotyping, I guess.

19 hours ago, orchidfan said:A lot has been said about the Imm "Crackdown" on Foreigner arrivals and how it might affect we "long term" foreigners living here.
I arrived late last night, on an EK A380 from Hong Kong.
Firstly, the walk from where the A380 gates are to Immigration is Long (despite the moving 'travelators'(?).....especially if you are over 70 yo !
De boarding of the full A380 was especially slow as every passenger was now required to show their boarding pass to cabin staff when they reached the door - the crew member where i left the aircraft hinted that this was a new Thai Imm requirement!
Then after that long walk - "Arrival Hall 1" is closed off ( for some reason -- maybe full already?)
So, more walking to "Arrival Hall 2"
Finally I get to Hall 2 and, of course, take the "Priority/ Disabled" line.
The queue(s) to this "Priority" ( in name only) lane were quite long, as were the normal arrival zigzag lines.
BUT only 2 out of 4 positions manned, and moving VERY slowly as Imm officers carefully scrutinized passports and boarding passes.
One westerner in my line took forever to be processed - some people swapped lines , but really to no avail - just as slow.
Problem was not only the documents check, but the "fully monty" of finger prints of both hands and thumb, and photo !!!!
I was following a Korean couple with toddler - never follow families! - so again, took forever.
In my case, I had PP and boarding pass ready - plus re-entry permit, but was still very slow..
I had noticed one man earlier on in the main arrivals queue opposite who was way back in the zigzag and we both left Imm to get our bags at the same time!!! So much for the Priority Line.
All in all, a very slow , painful experience ( compared to other arrivals I've had here this year).
I know we probably shouldn't compare airports, but HKG Imm arrival ( for me) - 3 minutes - put ID card in the machine, then thumb print and gates open and off to get the bags
Even non-resident arrivals handled quickly and efficiently ( if there's a problem person they are stood aside and dealt with so as not to hold up the following people)
HKG has currently over 60 million arrivals per year and pre-covid, over 90 million. So, similar numbers to Thailand.
Just thought I'd pass on my latest experience, for what it's worth.
Arrive on a 380 what could go wrong

In preparing our latest annual extension of stay based on marriage, we always submit evidence of 400K+ in the bank to meet the financial requirement. We never use the monthly income method. Now we were told, by an agent, that CM IM wants to also know your monthly income amount and sources. I declined to provide that to the agent and we will see tomorrow if an IO requires this info....never have we ever been asked about my monthly income given we use the 400K+ in the bank method.
Anyone ever been asked to provide monthly income when submitting the 400K+ in the bank method?
And another new one; in addition to photos of us in front of the house address and in the living room, now we were told we need two more photos- one in the kitchen and one standing outside the front door...anyone having similar demands?
Give them what they want will make your life easied. The last sentence in requirements for extension of stay states that the immigration officer can ask for what ever evidence he needs to make the final decision
