  1. Friends came back from Thai Muang yesterday. They used the app that's mentioned in a previous post. I was hoping to leave tomorrow for the day but have been unsuccessful in getting the QR code after filling in the required info.

Anyone else had success in getting the QR code?

I was able to go in on Friday to get a notarial witness for some docs I needed to sign, unrelated to covid19 though.

I believe everything is by appointment only. https://www.mfat.govt.nz/en/countries-and-regions/south-east-asia/thailand/new-zealand-embassy/embassy-services-for-new-zealanders/

Thanks MarleyMari. Let's see if they can can provide the letter by email as I live in Phuket.

The "firm" is smelling a new source of income !

Like rats on a piece of cheese.

As usual, the fog of war... "could", "can be fined", "against the law", etc.

And face saving exercice as well.

But, in the real world ?

How it will work ? Who will control the "self quarantine" ? A police officer behind each "quarantined" ? Webcams ? Dogs ? Can we shoot on sight if a quarantined is going outside ?

    So many questions... ????

    The land of many questions...

No, it's just crap from pans that have boiled over that has blocked the holes. I used to have gas stoves and I know the problem well.

Just lift the tops off, give them a good soak and then clear the jets with any convenient poking thing like a bit of wire. Nothing to it.

I had the same problem. The above advice worked a treat! No need to buy a new cooker.

As of now you will not need to show any funds at the consulate when applying for a Non-O ME based on marriage in Savannakhet.

As for the 20K baht or same amount in another currency you are mentioning, is what they have the right to ask for at the border checkpoint. However, even if it regards all visas, there are mostly check and questions to show money for tourist visas at airports. Are you going be land border, it will be extremely small chance they will ask for any show of money on a Non-O visa. Better safe than sorry. Have it at hand if needed. It´s just 20K baht.

Submitted my docs this morning for a non o based on marriage. No proof of funds required.

Filipino lady in front of me was turned away for not having her bank statements. She was applying for a tourist visa.

The bridge closes at 10 pm.

The Laos visa on arrival office closes at 6 pm but sometimes it is open later if they are busy.

The last bus from Mukdahan is at 7 pm which means about 7:15 pm at the bridge according to this web page.
