I am sure the technology will better in 10 years, but right now I would not consider EV's.

You don't have to show me a map, I am not driving any car in Thailand at the moment. But when I buy one it will not be electric. Unless the battery capacity will increase on cheaper cars 3 x as much as today.

Why not? Laos is not Thailand.

Loser is the only word I can describe him. Bye for good. -
I would be very worried about owning an EV car in Thailand. Especially for driving up north in the country. As long as gas prices are not too expensive they will be on the roads for the next 40 years.

Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital
balo replied to Chris.B's topic in The War in Ukraine
As you are all aware of, Norway amongst other NATO countries have donated several F-16 planes to Ukraine and their pilots are getting the proper training right now. But yesterday during a speech, Putin threatened Ukraine and the countries supporting them with F-16 planes that the planes will be a target the moment they are taking off ,however it is not clear if he means they will be shot down outside Ukrainian airspace or inside. If he tries something stupid, like sending a missile and hit the plane while over NATO territory he is signing his own death penalty. But I am sure he will do anything he can to stop the first F-16's from reaching an Ukrainian air base. https://www.defensenews.com/global/europe/2024/03/28/putin-threatens-striking-western-air-bases-hosting-ukrainian-f-16s/ -

10 teenage boys allegedly gang rape 13 year old girl in Sukhothai
balo replied to snoop1130's topic in Central Thailand News
Thai boys out of control, unfortunately there will be not much of a penalty here, as they are underage. The family has to pay money to the victims family and that is probably the end of it. -
Drug dealing in Thailand is a very stupid thing to do. He knew the risks. Hope he can afford to bribe himself out.

I have no problems with it, whatever makes you feel younger. Maybe I will dye my hair pink just for fun if I reach 90.... But you need hair to make it happen.

My guess is drugs of some sort

Dramatic Visa Fee Increases being reported
balo replied to mania's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I think you can avoid the high fees by using an agent in Thailand. -
I bought a unit in 2013 and sold it with a small profit a couple of years later, the rental price was around 8 to 10k at the time + utility bills. Plenty of units for rent today, I don't know the issues with damp, but maybe maintenance are going down . They used to be good.
-
I owned it, I paid 1.3 million baht pre construction back in 2013 and sold it for 1.6 mill a few years later. I was lucky to get my money back before the condo market collapsed. I rented it out for 10 k month + utility bills. And in Paradise Park the rent now is as low as 8k if you ask at the property. My example was to show you that you can get so called Western standard for a low price, with 24 hr security , pool and a gym for around 10k , plenty of condos around the area. I would never consider to buy again, only rent for me the next 20 years, it's too cheap.
-
There are many around and you can just go to Facebook and ask the several agents about long term rent for 10k-12k, pretty new 1 br condos with pool and a gym. Since this thread is about buying and not renting I think we should leave it at that. But since you asked, I lived in Paradise Park, Jomtien , 34 sqm is not a big condo but it was modern and new, as the pictures show. I loved it, especially the pool was amazing.

Elderly Swiss cyclist killed in hit-and-run in Sattahip district
balo replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
I did a lot of bicycling along beach road, but I would never take my chances at the main roads. Especially at night.
