  1. Drug dealing in Thailand is a very stupid thing to do. He knew the risks. Hope he can afford to bribe himself out.
  2. I guess they choose Pattaya because it is located near the beach . Chiang Mai would be an even cheaper option. Vietnam is cheap too. Maybe they did not do a very good research here.
  3. I have no problems with it, whatever makes you feel younger. Maybe I will dye my hair pink just for fun if I reach 90.... But you need hair to make it happen.
  4. I think you can avoid the high fees by using an agent in Thailand.
  5. Remember to bring your own life jacket. Life is cheap here.
  6. I bought a unit in 2013 and sold it with a small profit a couple of years later, the rental price was around 8 to 10k at the time + utility bills. Plenty of units for rent today, I don't know the issues with damp, but maybe maintenance are going down . They used to be good.
  7. I owned it, I paid 1.3 million baht pre construction back in 2013 and sold it for 1.6 mill a few years later. I was lucky to get my money back before the condo market collapsed. I rented it out for 10 k month + utility bills. And in Paradise Park the rent now is as low as 8k if you ask at the property. My example was to show you that you can get so called Western standard for a low price, with 24 hr security , pool and a gym for around 10k , plenty of condos around the area. I would never consider to buy again, only rent for me the next 20 years, it's too cheap.
  8. There are many around and you can just go to Facebook and ask the several agents about long term rent for 10k-12k, pretty new 1 br condos with pool and a gym. Since this thread is about buying and not renting I think we should leave it at that. But since you asked, I lived in Paradise Park, Jomtien , 34 sqm is not a big condo but it was modern and new, as the pictures show. I loved it, especially the pool was amazing.
  9. I prefer quality, the German sourdough bread is the best if you can find it. Das BackHaus is still open I believe https://www.facebook.com/DasBackhausBakery/
  10. I did a lot of bicycling along beach road, but I would never take my chances at the main roads. Especially at night.
  11. Nothing helps the OP, he wants to buy.
  12. I blame the drugs and booze, typical place for it-
  13. If you want real healthy bread , the German bakery it is.
  14. I used my Thai DL in Vegas , at the casinos some years ago. Instead of my EU passport. They were a bit sceptical, but it worked.
  15. Exactly, and still people want to buy. For 10k/month you get a lot of value if you spend some time to pick the right location and building. And then when you do not like the location anymore, due to noise or other things, you just move, simple as that.
  16. Any news of this ? I have 2 inactive accounts , I can log in on the K-biz website .And my account numbers are there. Will it help to try a deposit to activate them or will it not work ?
  17. We can speculate all we want but the accident happened at 5 AM in the morning. Wrong time to be out on the roads with a bike, especially if you are a foreigner. Maybe he was intoxicated, maybe not, but some people do not think about the consequences. RIP.
  18. They should test all passengers for drugs before they are allowed on the flight, that would teach them a lesson. But I do not understand why the plane did not return to Bangkok when the fight started early just after takeoff?
  19. No problem with updates here , and I spend most of my time in Europe, bought my Samsung TH model in Bangkok. So don't understand the problem you have. I do have a Samsung account registered in Thailand and make sure to log in from that user name.
  20. Which ones? The official Samsung stores in Bangkok seem to stock most models. The only difference is the languages offered from the factory. Thai and English supported anyway.
  21. I think Colombia could be a nice alternative. I have not reached retirement age yet but I think I will visit S-America and see what they have to offer. Unfortunately I do not speak Spanish but it would be easier to learn than Thai. But it depends on the costs, I do not expect a big pension.
  22. I never understood why people buy phones from Europe when they live in Thailand. I bought all my Samsung phones in Bangkok. Not much difference in price anyway.
  23. I guess it was more fun 15 years ago. If you know you know....
