I agree for a two week holiday probably not worth it, but for an extended holiday for a couple of months, not a bad option.
Also much better option for returning long timers than BKK ASQ.
Absolutely. If I was thinking of going back for 6-12 months then 2 weeks in Phuket would be no barrier. As you say, this is equally true for people wanting to back to business of family.
But the system doesn't work for people who want to go to Thailand for "normal" vacations. I used to spend 3-4 months of the year in Thailand in stretches of 3-4 weeks at a time. That doesn't make sense now.
There is also the problem of the government closing everything down. I could handle it when I spent a few months on Koh Chang, where I was just hanging out on the beach or in little places that were ignoring the rules. But it makes it a waste of time to visit a lot of other places in Thailand.

There's not really that many now.
It is fine for people who are really keen to return to Thailand but too much for casual tourists.
On top of the requirements for getting CoE, people have to consider whether they will get stuck somewhere, end up in hospital for 2 weeks of their holiday (if they test positive), will have to unexpectedly quarantine on their return etc.
They will be wondering if anything will be open when they get there or whether things will shut down after they arrive.
The situation is too uncertain.
If you look at the way that conditions for lock downs are set up, world wide, on the basis of the dodgy PCR TEST, international travel isn't going to work. I expect a lot of our countries are going to collapse.

In accordance with fair use policy on the forum, I have quoted only three sentences from this article.
What I wrote in bold is my own wording.
On 1st May the American CDC (Center for disease control) decided they would only count "breakthrough infections" (infections in vaccinated people) where they led to hospitilization or death.
"Meggan Ingram was fully vaccinated when she tested positive for COVID-19 early this month. The 37-year-old’s fever had spiked to 103 and her breath was coming in ragged bursts when an ambulance rushed her to an emergency room in Pasco, Washington, on Aug. 10. For three hours she was given oxygen and intravenous steroids, but she was ultimately sent home without being admitted."

There will be endless boosters for people who accept the jab system.
On 8/20/2021 at 10:04 AM, it is what it is said:ok, people have the infection, no one said the vaccine would prevent that, what we need to know is the number of hospitilisations/deaths. loads of people get flu every year, so what?!
No one said that? I think a few people might have said that. Governments all over have implied it. They are running a scam. A few weeks turned into a QR code control grid for the rest of our lives.

It is so rare that they made a news article out of it, and yet even this guy had a pre-existing condition as evidenced by his blood pressure.
You are not going to convince anyone to get the jab who refused it up to this point.
The jabs don't stop Covid, they don't stop transmission, they don't stop serious illness from Covid, and they require boosters every few months supposedly to be effective.
If you want a permanent QR code control grid, with check points everywhere, good luck to you. That isn't for me.

You really need a better south for your information. Most being infected and dying now are under 50. Pediatric wards are filling up.
Where do you get your information from? Hope it's not social media sites.
What is the body mass index of un-jabbed people getting seriously ill allegedly from Covid? What other pre-conditions are they suffering from?
By the end of 2020, “388 people aged under 60 with ‘NO underlying health conditions’ have died of Covid in England’s hospitals.” That’s official data, which is obviously rigged to begin with.
The American CDC admitted they are ignoring "breakthrough infections" in fully jabbed people unless they are seriously ill. They are hoaxing the numbers.
They are just lying when they imply that healthy children are at risk from Covid
"there were no deaths"

I will never take the jab despite restrictions. You can still travel most place by showing you have anti bodies. So you can go and get infected, get a PCR test as proof, and use that to travel.
Covid isn't deadly. So I don't worry about catching it (again).
They will coerce people, as they are doing, but they won't force vaccinate. They can't afford to force vaccinate people and then leave potential enemies free to roam about their lines.
Being able to identify the unvaxxable is enough for them. They can effectively lock you out of society with the QR code control grid they are building.

No vax pass, no supermarket. They are coercing people into taking the jab.

You didn't even do any research. Figures.
You're heartless to make such statements. Horrible.
Emotional blackmail is feminine.
Sweden did it right, with some mistakes in failing to isolate the very old and frail in the beginning. That is all any of us should have considered.
People died before 2019. We have to deal with it.
Once the economic reality of lock downs, furloughs, and job losses hit, people will be forced into extreme lifestyle austerity. An undercover documentary of CNN senior staff recorded them saying climate change will be the next big scare. Of course that entails extreme austerity (but not for Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos).
Hopefully the new society promoters will get a message from those who will suffer.
No one promoting this new society should be allowed to retain citizenship.

It's interesting to observe that the people who are blaming China for not acknowledging the seriousness of the epidemic and also not isolating Wuhan/China early enough, are often the same people who are downplaying the danger of the pandemic and are against lockdown.
It is because they are on the right and the fake news, false opposition, media, like Fox, is promoting a war against China.
In a sense, China is being offered to republicans to get them back on the voting plantation.
They are right that the lockdowns were never justified, and that the virus is mild. But they are upset that China took jobs and production which China was offered with both hands over the last decades.

The scourge of today. Covid deniers.
Do some better research on Sweden. You'll find out they failed big time.
Sweden is still there. People are living normally.
If you want people to transition to a new model of society you should make your case and let us vote on whether we want to join you. Very few people will want to give up their privacy, freedom, social life in exchange for allegedly keeping very old and sick people alive for a few more days.
Depression and economic fallout is going to kill millions of people. It has already blighted the future of most young people
New society promoters have a lot to answer for.

Guide to Interpreting VAERS Data
When evaluating data from VAERS, it is important to note that for any reported event, no cause-and-effect relationship has been established. Reports of all possible associations between vaccines and adverse events (possible side effects) are filed in VAERS. Therefore, VAERS collects data on any adverse event following vaccination, be it coincidental or truly caused by a vaccine. The report of an adverse event to VAERS is not documentation that a vaccine caused the event.
You new society promoters are not winning friends with your aggression and snark. Can we agree to a divorce?
When the program of regular jabs, movement restrictions, lockdowns, censorship and lifestyle austerity is fairly laid out I think we can accommodate adherents on a small island.
Why should we allow the old normal to be held hostage?
The new “factsheet” showed that the BioNTech/Pfizer vaccination was tested on 1097 children and adolescents from 12 to 15 years of age. At least 866 out of 1097 children developed some form of unpleasant side effect. In 466 the side effects were described as “mild”, in 393 they were “moderate” and in 7 they were described as “severe”.
-
Perhaps the only way that people can get back to normal is for new society promoters, those who agree to jabs and movement restrictions, to go their own way. Let's have segregation.
Let people see exactly what is being proposed for the new society and let's vote on it.
In this new society, are people going to be allowed to live in their own homes, or we going to be told that the old way of living is "too dangerous" and we must live in a controlled environment?

my vax list for this year is mmr, influenza, prevnar, hep A, thyphoid, zostavax, tdap+polio, varicella, meningo.
Also boosters for TB and dengvaxia and later boosters for the rest of them.
They are all very safe safe and they partially protect against covid.
As a back up i have 3 insurances and stock of 10 medicines for prevention and cure of covid.
I am not planning covid vax untill they reach generation 10, which at this speed would be only 3 years.
Developing a vax takes 10-15 years. Dengavaxia was created over 20 years.
I am not taking the Covid jab at all. It is too much risk against a flu like virus which I already had without problems.
The reported adverse events (VAERS) for Covid are more numerous than for all other vaccines since they started recording.
We don't know what the long term effects of mRNA Jabs will be. I don't need to take the risk so I won't.
If I get extorted into taking a jab I will take the Chinese one or another one which do any have the mRNA component.

Now that they are revealing that jabs will be endless, and consequently the old normal has been kidnapped, I hope people will make a stand.

You don't really believe that, do you? Please say you don't. Stunning. Absolutely stunning.
We have known that Covid is mild since mortality figures for Italy showed 99% of people who died with Covid were already dying from something else. It stands to reason when the average age of covid deaths is no different from the average of old age deaths.
Obesity and smoking are far more deadly, and deadly to younger people, than covid.
Sweden didn't bother with lockdowns and will have a more happy, wealthy, and healthy society.
https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/sweden-covid-and-lockdown-a-look-at-the-data
We should have a go on how we want to live and separate. You can stay under surveillance with Vax passports, we can be free.
How many old people want to live a few extra weeks under lockdowns and in a broken country? Even the people who we are supposedly protecting won't choose the new society which which is being constructed.
Lockdown fanatics are a vocal few. Lets shake hands and say goodbye.

I wonder how many buy to let people have walked away from properties. Or people who lost their jobs who got foreclosed on.
Luckily, banks are very honest and wouldn't keep a mountain of bad debt quiet. Imagine a bomb shell like that dropping on the market.

You could also assume the 0.035% would be those few who were very old and/or were in a bad way with other comorbidities.
IMO To many people get caught up on case numbers and dont consider the fatality rate.
Actually such a small figure, probaby chronic pneumonia and many other conditions would have a similar % death rate.
Countries future is being sacrificed so that, allegedly, very old and/or sick people can live a few more weeks.
The lockdown argument is strung together with emotional blackmail and distractions.
The general public don't yet realise how bad the economic hangover will be. Most people are going to be forced into extreme austerity. No one has figured out how to "re-inflate" the economy when inter-generational life savings have been sapped.
Some people have made money, which will buy a lot of political influence.

Vaccines won't open up tourism. If people go along with vaccine passports and travel restrictions there will be regular jabs. You won't be able to travel unless you are up to date with the latest science fluids .
Each time a variant is registered somewhere there will be international lock downs until a new vaccine is developed. Imagine booking a holiday, or running a business, when travel can be stopped due to a local virus or a virus at the other end. I don't see how international tourism can continue.
Somehow we managed to get along before 2019.
What percentage of the very old, and very sick, who were allegedly saved by lockdowns are still alive today?
Vaccines 2.0: Next generation COVID shots will be cheaper, easier to deliver, and protect against more viruses, industry leaders say

Imagine what life is going to be like with a vaccine passport, regular jabs, continuing travel restrictions, and intermittent lockdowns due to sporadic mutations.
People thought this would be over with the first jabs.
The COVID-19 vaccines are among the best ever created. They’re safe and more than 90% effective at preventing any disease, and even more so at blocking serious illness and death.
Now drug companies are trying to make them even better. -

Seems like the government is enabling those who game the system.
If they keep extending they can say they are doing something for tourism. If they stop they get negative headlines and complaints. At this stage it is easier for them to keep it going. There probably aren't that many people using this avenue and they have bigger problems.

You must publish your genius insight on herd immunity because to date there is no evidence that there is herd immunity in those not vaccinated. To date the experience indicates that antibodies are relatively shortlived (less than 1 year) and new variants are not stopped by previous infections.
This isn't the great plague. We are not tripping over bodies in the street. Life will be better, on balance, if we treat Covid like a seasonal flu. Deaths from despair, economic destruction, loss of freedom, are costs too.
I haven't seen anything which causes me to worry about Covid itself, or so called new variants, or the regular flu/colds. The problem has been government over reaction.

Prison is an ideal environment for the government to isolate and protect those few people who are at risk from Covid-19. Healthy young to middle aged people don't face a significant risk. The prison population can be allowed to develop herd immunity.

Pfizer vaccine antibodies gone by 7 months

"Six months after receiving the second dose of the two-shot vaccine from Pfizer Inc (PFE.N) and BioNTech SE , many recipients no longer have vaccine-induced antibodies that can immediately neutralize worrisome variants of the coronavirus, a new study suggests."
