Although not Buddhist, the teachings of G.I. Gurjieff are all about mindfulness and non-attachment. I highly recommend reading Psychological Commentaries on the Teaching of Gurdjieff and Ouspensky by Maurice Nicoll.

Sorry if this has been brought up before. Is it still possible to obtain a visa extension on Soi Suan Phlu? Thanks

Hi, a friend just received a 2 month double entry visa from the embassy in Canada. Does the double entry mean that she can just cross the border after the initial 2 months and then stay 2 more months or is it a reentry and she'll have to apply for another tourist visa in Penang. She wants to stay 4 months.Thanks.

"The Buddha was asked by a wanderer what happens after death. In response the Buddha posed a series of questions. First he asked,"If there is a future life, how would you live?" The questioner answered, "If there are future lives, I would want to be mindful in order to sow seeds for future wisdom. And I would want to live with generosity and compassion, because they bring happiness now and because they sow the seeds for abundance in the future." "Just so," said the Buddha. Then he went on: "And if there are no future lives, how would you live?" The questioner reflected and then answered in the same way: "If this were my only life, I would also want to live with mindfulness, so as not to miss anything. And I would want to live with generosity and compassion because they bring happiness here and now and because I will not be able to keep anything in the end." "Just so," aknowledged the Buddha. Eliciting the same answer to those two questions, the Buddha demonstrated that living wisely does not depend on belief in an afterlife."

There's story about how Sam Bronfman of Seagrams used to spend many afternoons sitting at the bar in The McGill Club. It is rumored that he would put a crisp $50 bill in a clean urinal and then return as people exited to see who took it.

You can never step into the same river twice.
We are our thoughts. Thoughts are packets of energy. As with molecules, we cannot normally observe ourselves in the present, just in the dead past, or in the imaginary quantum possibilities of the future. Mindful karma and meditation can change this existence for those who are uncomfortable with it.

Can you insult Buddhism?
Not while taking refuge in the Triple Gem.
I just see a picture of a man.

I read What the Buddha Taught and Dancing Wu Li Masters together and they seemed like one book.

After many years of taking refuge in, Pychological commentaries on the teaching of G. I. Gurdjieaff and P.D. Ouspensky, by Maurice Nicholl, I see practical comparisons.

‘One Day At A Time’. All of my life I would change my thinking and subsequently I would change my behavior. I tried for years to make it work with drinking. Then, I trusted some wise people who told me that if I changed my behavior, they would help me change my thinking. That was over 20 years ago, one day at a time.

A Canadian property developer died Thursday after being shot outside his condominium in Phuket, Thailand, said a local report.
Francis Alex Degioanni, 34, was shot eight times as he sat in his vehicle outside his home on Patong Beach, said freelance reporter Andrew Drummond from Bangkok.
The Phuket Gazette, an English-language weekly on the beach-fringed southern island, reported on its website that Degioanni was riddled with bullets by two men on a motorcycle.
His girlfriend, Nanthawadee Phenjaroenwatthana, said he received a phone call and told her he had to go out for a short time to take care of some business, the newspaper reported.
When he got into his car, two men pulled up on a motorcycle, opened fire and then fled, she said.
Police said Degioanni had been selling condos to tourists in Patong for the past five years, the Gazette reported.

Hi, I can't get my Microsoft System Restore feature to work. I can pick a restore date & move to the next page, but when the Confirm Restore Point Selection page comes up the next button doesn't seem to work.
Thanks B.
