I did contact them for a widow I was helping, dealing with them only via email and their web site. Forgotten the exact details but it was actually a situation that sounds similar to yours. And old issue challenging a refund from several years in the past rationale for which was submitted several times. Letter documenting were on file. I provided it all and the Advocate got the issue closed as if it had just gotten lost in the files somewhere.
I would not hesitate to contact them again the minute I run across another problem that won't resolve itself.
So I highly recommend you contact the advocate for your area.

I know nothing about it so I googled and found this web site: angle closure glaucoma
It might give your more information on which to make your decision on how to proceed.
And if you google it, you will find other sites like Web.MD addressing it. You can not have too much information before risking your eyesight with any action.

Similar to CharlieH, we got a package in Chiangmai the size of a small briefcase (held a tote bag) in 9 days with no apparent stop at customs .

Growing up we frequently had hot rice with a patty of butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and then poured milk on it. Making me hungry for it just writing this. Haven't fixed it that way in over 50 years.

Consider the impression the average single male tourist patronizing the bars and the girls in last few pre-covid years would make on a disinterested observer viewing from a distance (e.g., a social science researcher). Will the economy over the next 3 or 4 years, as after people get vaccinated. recover enough that that type of single tourist will come back?
Hordes of single men may have been housebound for the last year, men who would love to spend time in the surf, sun, sand, and the walking street. But those hordes have also been seriously hurt economically. Too many of them are out of work, on reduced income, etc. How long will it be before those men will once again be in a financial position to tell themselves "I will take my 2 week vacation and a 2 week's, a month's pay, and go to Pattaya?"
I think the old Pattaya life has lost its source of its income. It is like after the Vietnam war when all the GIs left the Thai bases and the night life in the cities outside those bases dissolved into nothing. Pattaya is now experiencing the same situation. It will be interesting to see if they powers that be can see the parallel.

If going to the U.S., go on line and check each state's laws. Many states allow tourists to drive for 30 days on a foreign license.

These are obviously not conversations conducted in Thai or there would not be this lack of communication.

was having problems and replaced my motor and wheels. Turned out the new motor and wheels were both a little higher than the old set up. The mechanic worked by himself, put a shim over the wheels to raise the gate to the proper height (less that an inch higher), and installed and wired the motor into the existing wire to the switch inside the house. And gave us 3 remotes. Turns out the sort of new remotes I got a while ago after a repair also worked. So now we have lots of remotes and a great gate opener. You can read the telephone numbers off the photos and give them a call.
Plus the PDF file bill has his number on it and the other PDF file shows the motor details.

WAIT Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ)
So you want to stay there under quarantine which is, as I understand it, a stay in the room though there may be limited allowed movement outside the room. Quarantine is 14 days, isn't it? So 14 days for 6,7XX baht/day with meals for one person or 13,5XX baht/day for 2? Did you give the impression you wanted accommodations for 2 people?
So I am still confused. This does not seem excessive for being quarantined.

Great news about mail from the U.S. I had not heard.

If you have a long term association with a bank, they may be willing to do so. I have had a bank branch manager apply bank rubber stamps and sign which was accepted by the requesting agency in the U.S. Some lawyer advertise notarization. And try Star Visa by the Consulate; they may be able to help.

Corpus Christie is correct. And be aware that airmail comes in passenger flights so no airmail from the U.S. right now. You have two options. One is getting the bank to send it by courier (FedEx et al) or, if they won't do that or won't send it out of country even at your expense, have it sent to a U.S. address and ask them to forward it one by courier.

Go to https://www.fvap.gov/ and then to your state. You may find that you can send in your ballot by email or fax.

It is also well to consider, when buying, the fact that the total print out of paper tickets have to be divided up. So if there were 760,000 (random number for illustration purposes only) tickets printed, each province only gets 10,000 tickets. Those 10,000 are divided up by city. And if there are 1000 cities in the province, your city will get 10. So your odds of winning are not just the number of digits factorial, they are further reduced by distribution. You favorite number in Chiangrai may be being sold in Pattani. GOOD LUCK.

Mailing to the U.S. is possible but it goes by surface. I sent 2 letters by EMS for 880 baht each. One took 6 weeks and the other 8 weeks (just delivered 2 days ago). Mail used to be sent on passenger flights. Until passenger flight resume, any mail to the U.S. is by surface which, obviously, means by boat. So I would suggest that anything that really has to be sent should be sent by a DHL, FedEx, etc. Cargo flights are allowed.

If she can enter on expired passport, best of all possible worlds. That is something I did not know. Good to learn new stuff... and that is something I definitely will remember. Thanks, ThailandRyan

Go to the Tesabaan. It worked for me.

Definitely try to get her Thai passport renewed. If she doesn't and enters Thailand on her UK passport, she will be treated like any other foreigner and have to get a visa, do 90 day reports, etc., ad infinitum.
Possible alternative would be to come here, get tourist visa, go to the Amphur and renew Thai passport, and then immediately fly out to near by country (cancelling her UK passport visa) and then return on her Thai passport. This should be possible within 90 days.

U.S. Taxpayer Advocate Office
in Chiang Mai

Did you try Googling Advocate for your state or location you have an issue with? And googling for Advocate email address?
If I remember correctly, I was dealing with the office covering the address to which a non-US citizen files paper 1040s. Did the googling to find out how to contact online, etc. This was several years ago and I am not at home right now so I can not research my records to be more specific.
