  1. A long line in indicative of a process that does not work.<BR><BR>The process does not work because someone has not used the prior years of hosting this event to fix the same faults from the  previous years<BR><BR>Just hosting an event is not being responsible to the patrons<BR><BR>They all deserve a happy and stress free day for the money they are paying

    Please check your PMs.

  2. Thanks for the input. As I suspected very much a case of spend more (D-Tracker looks decent), stick with what i've got (CBR), buy a Tiger Boxer or wait to see if anyone (Sachs?) bring anything else onto the market to fill the gap that the CBR will leave.

I really feel uncomfortable on scooters, unstable to my mind, the tanked bikes feel a lot more solid on the road, so that is what I would prefer if I can get my hands on one.

I agree 100% with that comment.I'm glad to find someone else who feels that way about scooters, as nice as my Elsie is.:)

  3. Hi Guys,

is there a bike shop which sends out prepaid parts? I have a long list of parts and hate the idea of running around and buying them in different shops, having to return to pick them up.

How do prices here compare to those in the U.S.?

A Priority Mail flat rate parcel costs $ 56.95 AFAIK with a 20 lbs weight limit and 5.5" height. In the past, I used a parts shop in WI which offers 15% off and free shipping to CA. A friend would then send a parcel to LOS.

www.louis.de has a special deal on DID chains = 4,800 Baht including 19% vat in Germany. Just wondering whether there is a point in checking prices globally, as a VW part was 1/3 in Germany.

    Thanks for sharing your views,

    Chris

    Chris,

My take is, unless you can speak fluent Thai to order by phone, I'd use the USA option.

    I do.

Jackdawson, as usual, another infantile post by you.

  4. I opened a Shipito account a few months ago, and have used them for several smaller package shipments (nothing as heavy as a laptop) since then... No problem.<snip>

So, Thai customs understand the word "refurbished" ? I'm surprised!

Do you know if they understand "factory seconds" when applied to helmets, rainwear & nylon jackets?

    Any experience, anyone?

    cheers,:)

    GD

  5. BTW

    Consolidation

"REMOVE ALL PACKAGING" Does NOT include invoices & packing slips.

Keep this in mind when you fill out the customs dec.

This is an extra service charge.

As good as their service is, they are "grasping" for every dollar.

The women in CS do as little as possible to help, be warned. :annoyed:

  6. In 2001, just prior to the mass murders on 9/11 in NY, my GF was from Udon Thani & she told me that the police carried out summary executions for drug related second offenders in the UT area.

I scoffed at her story at the time... It seems that I was wrong. :(

It's true that the shootings happened, though I thought it was late 2002 or 03. <snip>

My point was that summary executions were going on in the provinces before Taxsin made his announcement!.

So what. If thaksin was wanting to promote democracy and justice for all then he would have put a stop to such activities. He didn't, he abused this activity to a much greater degree and on several occasions.

    So what???

Do I need a blackboard and chalk to point out the obvious that he made the summaries S.O.P. well before he made his announcement.

    Comprende?

  7. Thailand was going to launch a project last Jan that was to start on the 1rst. The Government got Tesco, Big C,and carrefour to buy into it. Almost the same as the BMA did for one day in BKK. They were going to start charging one Baht for a small plastic bags, and three baht for a large ones.

This never happened, as when publicized, Thai people objected to this idea. Most Thai people do not give a hoot about the environment.

    Barry

    It's called the DGAS syndrome.

It goes hand in hand with "Mai Phen Rai"

    Which translated (roughly) means "I don't give a sh*t" :D

You will find examples of DGAS all over Thailand, every day, it's a strong part of Thai 'culture' !

<br><br>God I hate it when people say that "Oh, it's a Thai thing", corruption - "its a Thai thing", lateness, "its a Thai thing" or, my personal favorite, Greng jai (being considerate) "its a Thai thing" - as if no other nation has the concept of being considerate towards other people - 555555<br><br>:-)<br>

That applies to many on here! :annoyed:

  9. Ed,

The top box surprised me in that while most of them, when mounted high, look to me like some awful pimple or something bigger on a bike, the color coordination seemed to make it less so and almost balanced in this case.

At around 900 baht, I don't suppose that I'll be able to use it forever, but I've found it extremely useful for shopping, carrying straps, and the like. It doesn't rattle like other less expensive types I've bought in the past, but bolts (4) directly to the carrying structure - <snip>

I had probs opening yr 1st image yesdy morning, so I went looking for others....... I was not impressed with what I saw!

Later I got yr image to open, that is one nice bike! You've got me thinking now... LoL.

BTW, yr top box is made of ABS, and should last a very long time.

Don't forget to post a report after yr 1000km service.

    Go safely.
