You can't make a deposit in Siam Commercial Bank any more without bringing your passport. Neither pink ID nor Thai driving license are enough!

I am about to renew my annual extension, based upon retirement, of my two years old Non-O visa. Will I be asked for a health insurance by immigration?
-
Thanks, Joe, the reply was spot on as usual!

May be I was not sufficiently clear in my text.
i don’t have a Thai wife, nobody to visit.
All I want is a 60 days extension to my 1 year retirement extension. Is this possible?
-
I read that it is possible to get a 60 days extension to a Non Imm 0 visa with extensions based upon marriage.
Is the same thing possible with my retirement extension when it runs out in late January? I need to stay in Thailand till the end of March, so a 60 days extra extension would be most welcome. Otherwise I suppose I could solve the problem by means of a week end in Saigon, get 30 days visa free on arrival and extend this with 30 days at my local immigration office, right?

I believe that the reason for the confusion - mine as well as others - is that the difference between a 'non O' and a 'non O A' is not fully understood. Ubonjoe, please?

I am planning to apply for a Non Imm O-A visa, and understand from the forum that I will get a 1 year permit of stay every time I enter Thailand, provided that a have re-entry permit. Correct?
But do I have to leave Thailand every 90 days to keep the visa alive or is it sufficient if I report to the local immigration office every 90 days as you would do with a retirement extension?
-
Thanks for the clarification.
Allow me one more question: In the text on the Embassy's web site it is stated that “Every 90 days, the alien must report to the Immigration office or the police station in the alien’s residence area.”.
But actually I have to leave Thailand every 90 days , right?

But according to the web site of the Thai Embassy in Copenhagen you must present your flight information/reservation when you apply for a Non-OA visa. This is together with a medical certificate about strange illnesses and a certificate from the police, hotel reservation etc.

I plan to come to Thailand on a Non-O-A multiple entry visa with 12 months validity. Can it really be true that such a visa requires a confirmed ticket out of Thailand? I mean, who can plan a specific departure date one year in advance?

My wife and I are about to apply for renewals of our two retirement visas. Last time we presented proof of having had 800,000 Bt on our joint bank account during the previous 3 months, but now there seems to be conflicting messages about the need for 2 x 800,000 Bt. Could some one give us guidance, may be even with a reference to the relevant paragraph in the legislation?

Is it posible to renew your (retirement) visa in Bangkok when you have an address in Hua Hin? It seems that the immigration office in Bangkok has a relatively good reputation for professionalism.
-
It seems that the various immigration offices are using/interpreting the legislation differently. But time and again it is being stated (but often denied) that the office in Bangkok is professional and follows the rules by the letter. But can you use this office if you don't live in Bangkok?
Secondly, I get differing info about the 800,000 Bt rule for retirement visas: some say that 800,000 Bt is enough for a married couple, some say that this rule was changed recently so that 1,600,000 Bt is now required. What to believe?
