  1. yes i see them as well no matter what store i go to Tesco, BigC, Carrefour and others. Always in a pair usually. It's funny that you mention it because only us foreigners seem to notice since we don't have birds flying around our stores back home, but they seem to be invisible to Thai people.

  2. I think quite a few red shirt higher ups have said they plan on taking down the government, so i don't think its going to be much of a peaceful protest. Here's another link taking about foreigners banned from protesting. http://asiancorrespondent.com/bangkok-pund...h-the-reds-.htm

A quote from that page "Suthep also wanted to pass a message onto non-Thais that peaceful protests under the constitution was limited to Thais only. Therefore, if a foreigner protests, they have broken the law."

  3. I'm not sure any of you know but the govt has banned foreigners from joining the protest. Just a warning. Here's a quote from the Deputy Prime Minister "The government will take legal action if they fail to comply, because only Thai people have the right to voice their political opinions."

  4. Deadbeat dads are all the same. I like how some of the other deadbeats on here jump in the boat with him lol! To the deadbeat dad op. So are you going to stay here without a passport or go back home to go to jail? Eventually you'll get caught here without the passport and end up in immigration jail. You have 2 choices. Thai Immigration jail or some random American jail. In court it will not look good for you at all hahah! Uh yes your honor i left my kids so i could go whoring in Thailand. What a douche. You get what you deserve. If i knew where you were right now i would report you to immigration for not having a passport.

  5. Sorry but you are a dead beat dad by definition, and also a slacker for not going to court and changing your payments which would have avoided the whole problem, Fact is you have to owe more than 5,000 dollars, you should change the topic part to ..... ridiculous dead beat dad rationalizes non payment and blames wife

So correct and all these guys use the same excuses. You have to owe a decent amount of unpaid child support for this to even happen. Even if your wife cheated on you. Your children are STILL your RESPONSIBILITY. I'm actually glad to see the U.S. Embassy here doing something about it.

  6. Wow reading this thread i didn't realize there were so many Deadbeat Dads on here. To the Deadbeat Dad OP you deserve more than just a passport confiscation. You need to be arrested and flown back home to spend some time in jail. They will only issue you an emergency passport back home where local police would be waiting to detain you. So have fun here while you can. Its either be caught here without a passport or face the music back home. For the other guys here that don't really understand. These types of guys ALWAYS play the victim, when in fact its their kids who are the victims.

  7. I don't know any because of my age(29). The young foreign guys/girls are busy smelling like crap and living on Khao San. The old ones are busy with hooker's and beer. Neither is my cup of tea. I don't drink or smoke so I don't meet many foreigners. The ones i do run into are old and bitter about EVERYTHING and the rest are just shifty and try to avoid all contact with other foreigners.

  8. I went the other day to extend my Non-O based on marriage for another year and it went FAST! id say 20 minutes to be called and hand all the paperwork over and get the 30 day decision stamp. I did my 90 day also since I was there(I usually use Rasa Tower one stop service). Total time was about 45 minutes. oh and to those that have cars here PARKING! PARKING! PARKING! There is literally infinite parking spaces at the new location so don't worry! They seem to work faster NOT using the queue system from Suan Plu. I cant really explain the new queue system, maybe someone else here can. There is one thing i noticed thats still around from Suan Plu. That lovely body odor stench!

  9. The Life Experience degrees are not illegal in Thailand like in other countries. It's just the truly fake degrees like the ones you get on Khao San. My friend uses one and he works in a university in Thailand. He paid like 450 dollars for one and received the degree and transcripts from a valid, legal, and accredited university. Yes he was issued a work permit based on his craptacular "degree". I forgot the name but there are plenty of them on Google. Just don't use it in your home country, then you'll be in trouble!

  10. Celebrating my sons first birthday and not sure where to take him. If you dont know what chuck e cheese is go to http://www.chuckecheese.com/ Its basically a good place to celebrate bdays for kids pizza/video games/rides/cake etc. Is there any place like that in Bangkok? I'm thinking of Dreamworld but i havnt heard about "Birthday packages" I know mcdonalds has birthday packages but i dont like mcdonalds lol! Mothers and Fathers please help! TIA!

  11. Also if youre going to play from Thailand get an NA account as Thailand routes directly to the states. If you have EU it will be pretty laggy.

Pre-selection for Aion pre-orders only takes place at 12:00PM PDT September 18th. You can make your char and reserve your name ahead of the opening rush! Again for people that pre-ordered Aion will get a 2 day head start and be able to play like normal on Sept 20th(2 days before it actually goes live!).

  12. Shot down

A Burmese boy born in Thailand was unable to hold back tears yesterday when the Interior Ministry refused to support his request for a Thai passport.

Mong Thongdee, 12, needs the travel document to fulfil his dream of competing in the upcoming Origami Airplane Contest in Japan. The event takes place on September 19 and 20 in Chiba.

"I understand the authorities' decision," the boy said tearfully. "But I feel very upset."

    Passport denied

Mong has been denied Thai citizenship because his parents, though working legally in Thailand, are Burmese.

"As an alien, he may not be allowed back in to Thailand if he leaves the country," Provincial Administration Department director general Wongsak Sawaspanich said yesterday.

He said the Interior Ministry could not relax the laws for Mong, a Grade-4 student at the Ban Huai Sai School in Chiang Mai.

    Paper plane contest

Mong was invited to compete in Japan after his paper-plane design stayed airborne for more than 12 minutes to win a local contest. His school director, Duangrit Petima, then decided to help the boy by accompanying him to Bangkok to meet relevant authorities.

Aside from the Provincial Administration Department, Duangrit and Mong also called on the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

    Ministries desperate to help

Ministry spokesman Wimon Kidchob said they would issue a temporary passport for Mong only if the Interior Ministry gave its approval.

Only two non-Thai nationals had been granted such a document, said Wimon.

Wongsak said his department had to stick to the laws; if an exception were made for Mong, it would create a loophole that others could exploit.

"We must take laws and national security into account no matter how much we want to help," Wongsak said.

After hearing the discussion between Wongsak and his school director, Mong looked distraught.

"I have practised so hard. It's a huge disappointment to miss out on the trip to Japan," he said.

But he is refusing to be discouraged.

"I will continue practising. I also want to send my best wishes to the Thai representative who will be competing Japan. But I hope that one day I'll be able to travel for such contests too."
