  1. I was going to say that the outcome was inevitable. Too late I see- already vetoed. Israel does not want it so the tail wagged the dog and the US, good dog that it is, vetoed it.
  2. Thanks for that. I agree with Vance. I didn't realise that the US has such a low production of Patriot missiles, and without putting the US on a war footing, how could they produce the necessary amount? I suspect that most will be going to israel anyway. As for Biden, talking through his hat IMO, and he has painted himself in a corner with his stated aim of supporting Ukraine. If When Ukraine falls it will be a major humiliation for Biden in an election year. A spokesperson for the National Security Council did not respond to a request to respond to Vance’s op-ed. I bet they didn't. When he states facts they only have talking points to respond with.
  3. If that is true, expect a major attack somewhere in Ukraine as punishment. Ukraine isn't the only country that has missiles.
  4. I don't think they are playing politics. I think they just consider that the money is better spent on the US than things that go boom.
  5. IMO complete BS. They just want the money so they can delay the IMO inevitable end which will be to their disadvantage, given they led Ukraine into a war that has killed thousands of Ukrainians, caused massive infrastructure damage and will be for nothing, in the end. I don't give them much chance of keeping their jobs once an election is held. IMO the only way it becomes WW3 is if NATO goes insane and sends troops in. If they do that, then it's MAD.
  6. Your explanation of that is so brilliant I can't see it for the dazzle.
  7. Do you believe in Santa as well? IMO Trump is about as dangerous as Santa, who doesn't exists except in stories. Plenty of stories about how dangerous Trump is, and as real as Santa stories.
  8. Just when one thinks common sense has finally won one, some idiot supports the IMO insanity of allowing children to make life altering decisions.
  9. Pity you used a site that can't be read unless we subscribe first, and I'm not going to.
  10. Snap! I too have an unopened DVD box set of "The Prisoner". I bought it on special in London when I was working there. I think it was 10 quid or something. It sits in a box with my unopened box sets of Cracker, and Prime Suspect. All excellent series which I enjoyed at the time, but when I can buy an unused DVD of a movie I never saw before for $2 at the op shop, seen series must wait their turn, which likely will never come, and they will end up in an op shop for a few $. One series from that era that I did watch in the past few years though, was Edge of Darkness- the original, not the rubbish remake. That has to be the best political series of all time, IMO. It came out of the golden age of British tv, when they made excellent series like MOGUL. Sadly that era has gone and never again will such brilliant tv be seen again.
  11. I fail to get the relevance of that. In 1967 did anyone even know what windows OS was, who Jobs was or use any sort of personal computer?
  12. Western culture hasn't stood a chance against the mass immigration of those with a completely different culture. The cultures they sought to escape from still exist though, as no one from the west is immigrating into those countries. When living in London I used to go down to the Thames to see the parade of cultures in London which was held near the end of the year, and they had many different cultures represented, but not a single representation of British culture.
  13. If nothing else, this thread is an example of why anti Trumpers have no sense of humour.
  14. LOL. You can add me to the chump's list. A few of the really classic ones: the "girlfriend" that got me to fix her car for her, knowing she was going to dump me before I fixed it, I did change a girl's engine oil, and she wasn't even a girl friend, I also fixed a girl I knew at work's car door, and neither of them offered me a cup of coffee or a donut for doing it. I was the sort to help out if someone needed help, but when I fixed a car broken down in the literal "middle of nowhere" ( and before mobile phones to call the AA ) the car full of people didn't offer me even a couple of bucks for my time in the dirt under the car fixing it. Nevertheless I still went on to the ultimate disaster of marrying someone that was always a taker and never a giver ( they are always great till after they hook the sucker though ), and even though I wired up not one, but two of the family's houses, they repaid me by stealing everything they could get their hands on. Takes a while to hammer the reality in though and just last year I helped out a neighbour by selling him something he was supposed to pay me off in weekly instalments, but did he pay, not a chance- the con artists are always great people till they've taken the mark for what they want. Karma got him though, he killed himself by driving badly on a motorbike and I got my unpaid for property back. It's unusual for karma to get the bad guys though. It's not OK to view women as sex-givers. Why not? What else do they have to offer? Anyway, in my experience they only use sex to get what they want, so IMO it's OK to get what we want in return.
  15. The two women in my life both thought it was unrealistic for me to still want sex after they trapped me. I guess they didn't realise I was prepared to lose almost everything to get away from them.
  16. Perhaps Cotton should receive some of his own desired activity to remind him why it's not a good thing.
  17. I prefer having the monarch as head of state as it obviates the need for yet another useless politician.
  18. In your opinion. I don't know enough about Judaism to know if their religion allows for the killing of innocents and mass starvation etc. I'm certain that western leaders supporting israel are not abiding by Christian beliefs. I know that some people use Islam to justify their terrorism, but IMO that is not part of Islam and it's like the inquisition using Christianity to do terrible things that were completely against Christianity.
  19. It's like they are so arrogant that they think they can say anything and get away with it, forgetting that lots and lots of other countries read or hear what they say and draw conclusions from it. In situations like this, words are important.
  20. The most embarrassing restaurant dinner I ever had was when my partner and I were eating with her parents, her father got a bit tipsy and attempted, very badly, to flirt with the waitress. I don't know whether the waitress or the rest of us were more embarrassed.
  21. I'm aware that there is a great deal of crime in LOS, but it rarely affects farangs or tourists, and this is a forum for farangs and tourists. To be precise, I felt safer in LOS than I ever did in London.
  22. Thanks for getting back to me on that. It's not often that that happens.
