Belgian man found dead at house in Chiang Mai, murder suspected
Teddy3943 replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
Committing suicide with a bag over your head is virtually impossible. your enormous need for air forces you to open the bag. Only under special circumstances, for example comatose drunkenness or stupor due to poisoning, should you not open the bag. The coroner must give a definitive answer on this. -

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on Monday, bringing together both governmental and private sector entities. Among those involved are the provincial administration, provincial police, tourism police, immigration office, and provincial land department office. Private sector representatives include the Phuket Chamber of Commerce, Phuket Tourist Association, Phuket Real Estate Association, and the southern chapter of the Thai Hotels Association. Superintendent of Phuket Immigration Police, Thanet Sukchai, highlighted the pressing need for such a scheme, stating that the high season typically sees the arrival of more than 200,000 visitors every month, reported Bangkok Post. A surge of such magnitude raises concerns around crime rates and illicit activities, particularly drug-related offences. by Mitch Connor Photo by Miltiadis Fragkidis via Unsplash Full story: The Thaiger 2023-11-28 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. US to help Thailand develop small nuclear reactors
Teddy3943 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Now there are so much other and cleaner options for Thailand. Thailand's amount of sun-hours is perfect for clean solarcells nation wide, which also can be used for production of hydrogen. It is maybe a little more expensive, but better a little more expensive and clean environment than a cheaper and dirty environment. Nuclear power produces a sustainable and dangerous waste polution. An ever growing bad inheritance for future generations. -
Security beefed up for APEC with Putin participating
Teddy3943 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
What is the moral standard of Thailand to be proud of hosting a summit where a proven war criminal attends the meeting? Again the wrong choice by declaring to be so called "neutral"....- 134 replies

Security beefed up for APEC with Putin participating
Teddy3943 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Where the civilized world would not invite a proven war criminal and mass murderer, Thailand is proud to host this summit and has no problem with ethically objectionable events. Where Thailand could be a great honorable nation by withdrawing Putin's invitation, it is now showing itself as the crawling cockroach others look down on and may even crush it.- 134 replies

That's one right step in the right direction. Traveled all over the world, to modern countries too? The more undeveloped and distrust the more paperwork has to be filled in at arrival and even sometimes at departure. Same for the visa's and residence permit. My Thai wife got her first residence permit for 5 years, the second for 10 years, which would still be valid now, but she has already obtained the Dutch citizenship. No reporting at any department during the 5 or 10 years permit.

Seems you need a master’s degree to handle Thai immigration rules
Teddy3943 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
One of the problems to know the exact rules is that the websites of the local embassies are also unclear regarding the current rules. And as their normal behavior they send you home to provide the current requirements, regardless of the distance you have to travel. -
The position of the Thai government to be neutral is like a message: "Thailand does't care about the enormous suffering of the attacked people of Ukraine. We go on as if nothing has happened. We only think about our income from the Russian tourists". I consider this as a cowardly and greedy behavior. Imagine that Thailand was hit by a powerful nation and was bombed and tanks shooting around and no one would realy condemn or do anything to the agressor. How would Thai people feel then?
-
Thailand will not condemn any country, no matter horror actions or severe violation of human rights, as long as it will cost money. Genocide, human rights or ethics, Thai government only thinks about money. This behavior doesn't come from being an undeveloped third world country, no it's a greedy fifth or sixth world country with a government of primates.

Can Thailand really afford to stop exporting to Russia?
Teddy3943 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Putin attacked Ukraine with the nonsense reason that He felt unsafe. Who wants to attack Russia??? This was only a cheap and childish make up to try to extend his territory, likewise he did that with Crimea. If Thailand is a decent nation, it should condemn this low hearted attack at an innocent nation and join the worldwide strong rejection of this ruthless attack and join the boycot. Even Russian citizens are horrified by Putin's actions. Many thousants of Russian citizens protested in more then 25 cities all over Russia. "Noblesse oblige... ", but sees Thailand itself as a nobel nation? -
Thailand’s new entry fee – boon or bust for tourism?
Teddy3943 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Most tourists have to pay more than 2000 Baht already for a visa in their own country. If the Thai government will only focus at the richer tourists the small tourism businesses will slowly extinct. Tourism business will only thrive by large numbers, not by the elite only.
