As surprising as it gets, it does exist and I just discovered it. On this very same Thai postal page it is writen as "Heard Island and McDonald Islands" on my screen. It's an Australian territory in the very south of the Atlantic Ocean: https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Heard_Island_and_McDonald_Islands.
What is most surprising is that your mail has absolutely no reason to go there; it is uninhabited !!

Watched recently "The Hill" a 1965 movie in which is stared, while he was on vacation from being Bond. Lot of charisma, a great actor indeed. And the film is still very watchable, not old-fashioned at all. https://www.wikiwand.com/en/The_Hill_(film)

The very same traffic light at that very same intersection were demolished by a thoughtless farang a few months back...

You can use a common bank account, but only 50% will be allowed to be used to obtain your visa, so you better have an other account for the remaining needed amount.

May be I formulated it wrong, and it isn't Thailand post that is useless, it seems to be the employees that operate the call center in Bangkok.
An inquiry is a normal procedure, but continuously saying that it isn't available, doesn't really shows of efficiency or helpfulness.
Please note that registering a mail/parcel does not allow tracking (as with DHL for example). Only if you use EMS service, then the Thai postal website will show you where exactly is your mail. It only shows: Accepted/Dispatch/departure for Outward OE (at Suwanabhumi), then once in the country: Accept/To Customs/ Delivery Successful. The website is usually updated within 24h, however, but rarely, never updated (I have a parcel still pending after 6 months when I know they have been received)...
So it's not the Thai post system that is useless, just blame it perhaps on the IT guy for being late.
Not worth ranting, just bad luck this time...

Who produced this video? I'm in need of a videographer.
You can contact Alex in Chiang Mai. Very pro! http://www.digitalmixes.co.uk/

A good wine shop should hold Montbazillac (http://www.wine-searcher.com/regions-monbazillac), its a sweet white wine that will go perfectly with your foie gras. Also try Sauternes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sauternes_(wine). These two are the best of the French sweet wines.

Is the Thai Post Office reliable for sending goods overseas?
No.
What make you say that?!
You may live in Nakhon Nowhere where the postman never sees a farang and likes to forage through your valuable (to him) parcels.
I have been (and still do) using Thai post for over 25 years and NEVER lost a package that was sent either from Bangkok or (mostly) from Chiang Mai.
Be aware that post systems are often less reliable in your home country than here. The stated address must be clearly written (for Thai postmen: the country name in capital letters) ...

It's not flu it's bronchitis. Have been stuck with it for a month. Didn't go to see doctor (more anti biotics ) but found that thyme infusion helped a lot - as well as thyme inhalation as expectorant. Gone in 3 days... Even better if you can put your hand on thyme essential oil...
Be well soon.

If you like the Rajmankha hotel, the architect lives in it. Ong-Art Chantrakul. No idea about his fee, just go to ask.

I have been trying to find info regarding a security system to monitor my warehouse from my house, some kms away, but I am not sure to understand what I have read.
My warehouse does not have an Internet connection (only my house does have one) and I do not want to add the cost of opening a connection. Will I absolutely need an Internet connection? If so, could it be done with a USB WiFi network adapter? does this mean I will have to keep a computer opened 24h?
I have read the "Home Security Cameras On Line" topic on this forum , but do not understand about setting an IP address or dns things.
I only understand WiFi camera connected to a DVR machine, but then...
Can someone help me understand how would I set up a system that could be monitored on the Internet without having to buy a new (3BB) Internet connection from where the cameras are installed. Thanks

This is very likely to be krathon wood, a tree that bear fruits that are not so widely sold in supermarket but definitely in local markets. When freshly cut the wood is almost pink, then darken to pale brown soon afterward. I use it to make furniture at my workshop. It's not very dense, but not prone to termite attacks. However better to keep it indoor as it will rotten quickly in a garden.
English: Santol or cottonwood. Latin: sandoricum koetjape. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandoricum_koetjape

Very useful bee type: their wax (kee tang nee), a very sticky glue, is [was traditionally] used in joinery work here is the north as filling for gaps and sometimes, when dry, as moulding for lacquer work.

I remember the guys driving cars [usually Mercs] Munich-Tehran. Some of them would buy carpets and take them back to Europe to sell at a good profit... they made their nut coming and going.
I did that in the late seventies on an other continent, crossing three times the Sahara desert with my own Peugeots to sale in Niamey, Ouagadougou, or further south. Great sporty trips, the best being the crossing of the desert, Paris-Dakar rally before time, but at my own pace (anyway you couldn't waste time as gas and water was limited - no midway refiling stations!). You had to go a minimum of two cars, one carrying a 200 liters barrel on the back seat. Dust everywhere.
As a bookseller, you may have read Richard Neville's book about Charles Sobhraj.
To me the best book about Sobhraj is 1979 "Serpentine" by Thomas Thompson.
I met this very charismatic man in 1976 in Pattaya, of all places, before learning about him years later. Fortunately I did not interest him...
I also knew Eddie 8 fingers, we met every mornings for breakfast at Joe Banana when I lived in Anjuna ...
I first traveled the northern loop in 1973 as a backpacker, I was 19, coming from New Caledonia via Bali of course - Ch.Mai, Chiang Khong>Ban Huey Sai> Luang Prabang with Nounours the Corsican flying an old DC3 (with removable seats strapped to the floor - it was still Vietnam war), dined at the "Mess des officiers" in Vientiane, stayed at the Lido hotel where the breakfast menu had 6 items on the menu including coffee and croissants, and Buddha sticks. Back down to the Malaysia hotel, on to India ... and became a hippie forever.

The Malaysia Hotel? I used to stay there too.
33 bahts a night in 1973 ($1 = 20 bahts)
66 bahts a night in 1976 ($1 = 25 bahts)
Now...?

Can English and Irish people use proper modern measurements?! The Imperial measurements were abolished 30 yrs ago, it's in your link above: "With the advent of metrication from the mid-19th century on, it was superseded by the kilogram. It remained in limited use for trade in the United Kingdom and in Ireland until prohibited by the Weights and Measures Act of 1985"

Move away from a main road. Cars blow up dust constantly...

As a matter of fact, I was reading today the stunning story about this Christian-raised boy in the US who could remember his past life as a WWII pilot from a very early age.
They say that it generally seems that people can remember their past life if it has ended violently.
Here is a link to the story: http://www.iisis.net/index.php?page=semkiw-reincarnation-james-leininger-carol-bowman

...And in a [hopefully] unrelated news:

To those who don't know from "stones" this fine dude lost well over 100 pounds in a year. Wow! That is remarkable. Good luck to him to keep it going (the even harder part).
Can you speak like the rest of the world in kilos? Imperial system has been done away a long time ago... ThaiVisa is a compulsory English forum, but it'a a truly International one...

What was/is this building in Chang Kian?

A friend purchased an apartment in it in the early 1997 and it was barely completed, that was just before the Asian crash. Still struggling to get rid of it...
