Oddly enough my daughters English teacher at her school is Thai. Her English is shockingly bad. My daughter (fluent in both English and Thai) has been disciplined in the past for correcting this Thai teachers woeful English.

I can assure you my daughter would make a better English teacher than her. With or without a degree.

    Same in this family.

None of these vaccines have been tested to the same standard as was previously required. Previous record was 4 years and these COVID ones haven't even got 12 months behind them. Anyone that claims to know what the long term consequences are is lying.

We all know China's record on health scandals very well so obviously Thais should be worried about this vaccine. Unless you're 80 years old I wouldn't even consider this nonsense until at least 100 million Chinese have taken it and then wait 12 months.

Waiting may not be a bad idea at all.

The general attitudes towards Safety in Thailand is a major flaw, significantly greater observation and awareness is required - eyes on a stalk !!

Which is why I rely on my wife to make those kind of decisions here in Thailand. In the west, where we spent a number of years, it was me making those decisions.

    1. I've never seen my  kid being looked down on, but he's very white, having a dark skinned child may be different.

It is not different at all. I have one of each, One has my skin color and the other one moms skin color. They are both welcome amongst their friends and even popular.

thnx for replying but things aren't that simple. i have never had a child. the people here who are obviously more experienced that me in thailand life have opened by eyes that parenting is a full time job and i cant be a father on a tourist visa.

this plan is dropped for now.. i will think of other options .

Wanting a child is already half the rent. Many end up having children without any plans whatsoever. You thinking about it, indicates to me, that you want the best for your child or children. I'd be happy to share a beer and chat with you in Chiang Mai.

Others have already eluded to absentee fatherhood and at your age you may not be aware of a song, which clearly illustrates the difficulty for the child: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=puJt66y0TBw

To put your comment in context the new cases are primarily younger people. We see in the  UK and Canada,  60% of all new infections are people aged under 40 years of age.

Why shouldn't they be 60% of the total. It matches closely with the demographics and those are the people who are out working, going to school etc., many of the older generation have been scared by the psychology of fear, so sit at home alone. Further they are the people who have been tested positive by the PCR test, that does not equal sick people.

He was tested when he went to prison... it's not only the 34 fellow prison Thailand has to worry about.

The person was infected outside.  So there is at least 1 other positive case walking in public... and how did that person get infected?

    Just think about that.

You can't just have only 1 case.. 2 is the minimum

    Maybe he ate Pangolin? ????

Sweden records highest death tally in 150 years in first half of 2020

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/aug/19/sweden-records-highest-death-tally-in-150-years-in-first-half-of-2020

Sweden, which has stood out among European countries for its low-key approach to fighting the coronavirus pandemic, has recorded its highest tally of deaths in the first half of 2020 for 150 years, the Statistics Office said.

Covid-19 claimed about 4,500 lives in the period to the end of June – a number that has now risen to 5,800 – a much higher percentage of the population than in other Nordic nations, though lower than in some others, including Britain and Spain.

That sounds like pure hype. Looking at deaths in Sweden for the last ten years, the number of death will be approaching the same number or a little higher than 2018.
