Not true. I just received my Wise card on my Thai address. Before concluding application for new card I was asked to which address I wanted to be send. -

Foreigners and their overseas income: what next?
nowhereman replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
In the first three month I've managed to cut down my spending for 50% and I will continue to do so until I am sure I won't be paying double taxes. The results of spending less are visible on my body weight and good health 😉 Thank you Thailand 😉- 333 replies

Anyone wondered, what percentage or severity of the crimes committed in the kingdom can be assigned to foreigners compared to " netizens"? Is it really so worrisome or there is some distraction game at play. Changing Non-O retirement visa to Non-B
nowhereman replied to nowhereman's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thank you for your answer, Do you happened to know if the police clearance is mandatory? -
I hope I can get some good advice here from you folks. I learned that I have to leave the country to cancel my retirement visa without reentry permit. There are two ways of doing it. 1. 1. Going to Embassy with all the paperwork for Non-B. ( in my case Vientiane Laos) 2. 2. Crossing land border to Laos (Chiang Khong) and returning the same day to Thai immigration and enter Thailand on tourist visa based on visa-exemption and do the Non-B at the local immigration office. The second option would be much cheaper but here’s my question. One of the conditions to get visa exemption is to have confirmed return ticket exiting Thailand within 30 days. Do you think the immigration would let me in without an air ticket? I plan to have all the paperwork for Non-B with me. Thank you very much in advance.

Here's an easy explanation. Thainess is similar to Englishness ???? On a serious note, I was once asked by the head of English department in one of public high schools to translate a text and there was a word Thainess "Kwam Pen Thai" (ความเป็นไทย). Instead of Thainess I translated it to Thai culture, traditions and values. I explained to my boss that Thainess was invented by someone Thai and could not be used in the same meaning with other nationalities. Though, I don't know what happened to may translation ????

Buckle up! New law makes taxis ensure passenger wear safety belt
nowhereman replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
A couple of years ago on the way to Don Muang airport from downtown BKK I stopped a taxi and as per usual sat at the back seat, to my surprise I could not find the seat belt attachment. After five minutes struggle driver finally managed to take it out under the seat and we were happily on our way. Has things changed since than? Just wondering. -
I replaced cow milk for my daily coffee with coconut milk. It does not kill off polyphenols from coffee nor from tea. Healthier choice. This shortage is well orchestrated with the aim of price hike.

The local temple in Lamphun has just introduced an entrance fee of 50 THB for foreigners. Of course you have to be white or black as they can not spot the foreigners of other Asian nationalities. I find it so disheartening that after 20 years of visiting the temple I've just quit visiting it. I think this is a consequence of intentional narrow nationalistic approach to education during last 20 years.

Can not come up with anything sillier than that. Alcoholics need help and care from medical professionals. -

Phimai: 9-Year-Old Girl Electrocuted at Sports Field Power Pole
nowhereman replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
A decade ago my student, a 13 year old boy was fatally electrocuted by touching a wet concrete power pole on the playground, just after the rain stopped. No one was ever held responsible for this tragedy. Most public schools are fatal traps for students. There's little to no maintenance. To make things worse, people who lay wiring and should maintain them are not even trained and certified electricians. What could go wrong. I will never forget the smile of this happy boy killed by idiots.
