  1. For two years now I've been fighting water leaks coming from our 20 year old tile roof. We've patched any place that looks suspicious but to no avail.  Now I'm ready to throw in the towel and re-roof.  Any one know a reputable roofing contractor that does quality work? I would really appreciate any help, thanks.

  2. To get your re-entry permit at the airport you will need your boarding pass. The window for requesting the permit is on the second floor, on the left, as you enter the departure hall. You must pass through security but not passport control before you can walk over to the window. You can download the form (TM8) right here on Thai Visa and have it all filled out before you go. I would bring copies of the pages in your passport relating to your stay in Thailand just in case their copy machine is out of order.

  3. Interesting comment you made about Ram. I've lived here thirteen years and found Ram to be reliable. Their lab is state of the art and you will get your blood test results back in an hour. If you know the exact blood tests you want done you won't need to see a doctor, just register then go straight to the lab for your blood draws.

  4. A bit off topic, but does anybody know how the management of a condo can force the condo owner to pay the maintenance Fee.The reason Iask this ? is I have a condo in Bkk,and the management tells me it's a major problem for them, they simple don't have any powers to force the bad payers to pay up, seemingly the only thing they can do is wait and hope that the condo owners will one day want to sell his unit,in the meantime they can enjoy all the amenities, and expect the building to be maintained.

If the juristic manager has any balls he or she can shut off the utilities to the condo or can take them to court. If the unit is not occupied then the juristic manager can attempt to sell the unit to re-claim the fees owed. It all depends on how well connected the owner of the building is or the co-owner.

For PingandSingh, the 12% changes to 20% once the six month threshold is passed.

  5. The Condo Act of 1979 has been superseded by the Condo Act (No.4), B.E. 2551,

Quote; Section 18/1, In the case where the co-owner fails to pay the money under Section 18 within the prescribed period, he must pay a surcharge at a rate of not exceeding twelve percent per year of the due amount without compounding, as prescribed in the articles of association.

The co-owner who is in arrears with the money under Section 18 for six months or more must pay a surcharge at a rate not exceeding twenty percent per year and may suffer a suspension of the provision of such common services or the use of such common property as prescribed in the articles of association, including not having the right to vote at a general meeting.

The surcharge under paragraph one shall be regarded as being the expense under Section 18.

  6. We've been watching all the majors taking 91 gasoline (benzene) off the market lately. Now by surprise Caltex has added 95 Gold on top of their 91 and 95 gasohol. I asked one of the kids doing the pumping if it was benzene or gasohol and he said benzene. The price...47.9 baht per liter. Ouch! Anyone with confirmation this is truly gasoline?

  7. Yoy River Bar is what the previous poster was thinking. It's located on the west side of the Ping River right where the superhighway crosses. There's another one directly across the river from Yoy that always seems to be hopping. Another is Tara Bar which is near the helicopter base right on the river.

  8. This is follow-up info for those who posted their 90 day papers recently.

I reported today after reading that the mail-in procedure is no longer accepted. I had mailed mine in last week before reading on TV that you can't do it anymore.

At 2 PM I walked in and straight up to the 90 day reporting counter, showed the friendly officer my passport and new paperwork and had a photocopy of the reporting slip as well as the EMS receipt on top. He opened his top right drawer and pulled out a big plastic envelope where he had dozens of RETURN envelopes that had never been posted. One of them was mine. One of them is probably yours! He opened my return envelope and took out my new reporting slip, stapled it to my passport and said "come here next time, don't use the post". I collected my new paperwork and passport and off I went with a big grin on my face.

  9. This real biker event will be the best event in chiang mai this year in December post-70166-13464226149658_thumb.jpg

Just a reminder, Chiang Mai Bike Week's premire party will be Real Biker Custom Show on Sunday, 9 December. The party will be at the Royal Floral Park Rajapruek which is next door to Night Safari.

There will also be a ride on Sunday morning put on by North Comets MC that will include a buffet lunch and be about 140 kilometers in length. Cost of the ticket is 250 baht. There's more information on the http://www.chiangmaibikeweek.com/ website. Also, http://www.webrealbiker.com/

Hope to see everyone in Chiang Mai next weekend. Ride safe

  10. Thanks to everyone for the replies! That is indeed the restaurant. I hope to enjoy a meal there soon.

Thanks again for all the help.

  11. One of the highway patrol's speed cameras is set up on the superhighway (Hwy. 11) under the Sankampang Hwy. flyover, but not all the time. If you are doing 120 kph at the time you pass Big C you will receive a letter with a photo showing the front of your car/truck and your smiling face. The cost of the photograph is 400 baht. The other speed camera I know of is also on Hwy. 11 a few kilometers south of the jungle market going into Lampang. I know about these personally.

  12. Going toward the Railroad Station from the bottom of Thapae Rd, about 30 meters before the first traffic light on the left is a screw and tool shop which carries o rings.

Will make a note of this one for future reference..Thanks smile.png

I am very surprised that Buna N compound is available in Chiang Mai. Normally neoprene is all that's available because it's cheap. Plz let me know where you found it and whether it actually says Buna N on the box. Thanks
  13. From what I've seen, Rob takes all the criticism on the chin and deals with it instead of whining, like some.

In spite of the ultra negative comments by certain people, his business seems to be getting bigger and bigger by the day and no doubt will continue to do so......he must be doing something right, because an awful lot of people buy his products.

yes some like to have a dig at sausage king?? However we have the highest sales in Rimping per month on western foods. We sell over 5.000 pies per month in 33 supermarkets around Thailand because our pies are of the best quality and around 300g-350g per pie so not sure which brand CHOOKA is on about ???. Guess its Round 2 now right ???

.All sk products are of the best quality and our sales prove that.

Please take this as constructive criticism. Out of curiosity I bought three of your products last week. Your beef stew, breakfast sausage and meat & potato pot pie. The beef stew was very flavorful with plenty of meat, the breakfast sausage has a great flavor and cooked up nicely. The pie was a disappointment as it was very short on meat while filled with potato. The meat used in the pie I bought was minced from what I could tell and I really had to search for it. Is this the way Brits enjoy their steak & potato pot pies? Just asking.

  14. SK was telling me the last time he delivered that Rimping had been mis pricing some stuff maybe that was it since they put there prices on the stuff

    DK

Coincidently I am warming up a SK pot pie for 80 baht. I also have a package of breakfast sausages in my frig. The label, including the price is under the plastic wrap and with a SK letterhead. Lets put the blame game where it belongs.
  15. So SK are us ordinary folks gonna be able to get our hands on them at Rim Ping?

Yes i will have them in Rimping soon once i get the FDA approval on them,Will be doing a range of kebabs and dips,in the mean time can order direct with me,need one day notice.

I was at the Rimping Mkt. off of Chiang Mai-Lamphun Rd and couldn't find your products. Am I just going blind?
