  1. Tell that to Khon Kaen office. I haven't left Thailand for 11 years and I think it's five or six since I went out of Khon Kaen province. Yet last September in order to renew my extension they asked for a new TM30. Fortunately my wife had her tabien baan with her.
  2. Which is why, regretfully, I no longer stop for pedestrian crossings.
  3. I'm sorry but that's not my experience. Vi my online account I told them 5 times last tax year that I do not receive the increase and each time they signed it off as completed without altering the wrong code. In the end I rang them in February and it was corrected at once.
  4. British Camembert, and in fact all British cheeses, are just as good as anything the French can produce.
  5. About 5pm yesterday I tried to transfer some money from my Kasikorn account to my wife's Kasikorn account using the Kasikorn website as I happened to be on the computer at the time. The OTP they sent never arrived. So I transferred the money using the mobile app which worked fine and there's no need for an OTP in the app. This morning I noticed a message from Kasikorn on my mobile. The OTP had arrived at 0025, ie about 7 hours after they claim to have sent it. Has anybody else experienced this sort of delay, and what could have caused it?
  6. Where is the mob of concerned residents protesting about this. Silly me, a Thai did it not a falang.
  7. I had the same problem. I moved the mouse dongle from the USB port at the back to one at the front and that cured it. Just a bad connection I suppose.

    Isaan Funerals

As above in my wife's village in Khon Kaen except that close relatives go through the ashes for a bone or tooth to keep and the rest of the ashes are put under a tree, not buried.
  9. They shouldn't be as the supply of unused ones is infinite.
  10. It was a man, and years ago. Their attitude may have changed now but my wife hates to interact with their officials as they always look down on mia farang.
  11. That's exactly what I was told a few years ago at the Khon Kaen office. That's after the first thing the officer said to my wife (in Thai of course) "Can you read and write". She was upset and I was fuming when she told me afterwards, she has a BA and a hard-won MA. But she wouldn't let me go back in to speak to him.
  12. Agreed. But we are talking about HMRC assuming we get the annual increase to our state pension and taxing us accordingly.
  13. I have the same problem. I have reported this five times via my HMRC account but each time it is signed off with no action on their part. There is no comment space to let you tell them you are abroad. All you can do is tell there is an error in the state pension figure you are receiving and input the correct weekly figure. Then it's signed off within two weeks without amendment.
  14. Last time I changed mine I bought the new one from near the checkout at my local small Lotus. That might save you a trip to your local computer shop.
  15. Bus station office was still open as of yesterday. And it was packed!
  16. And you think they'll see the light of day when returned here? Perhaps now Thailand will return a certain jade carving to Laos?
  17. So you prefer immigrants to rape white children (Rochdale among many others) or threaten mob-handed to kill a teacher (Batley, the teacher is still in hiding), or stab three people (my home city of Nottingham) or throw corrosive liquid over a woman and her children (Clapham). Not to mention killing priests in their church, driving cars into people, planting bomds that kill children at a pop concert et c. et c. Such cultural diversity we can do without, thank you.

    Isaan Funerals

the first thing we knew about a neighbour dying was when a pickup laden with huge speakers turned up and began to play sad music all day, full volume.
