  1. Bualuang banking app (Bangkok Bank) is asking for dob for access. It uses one of those calenders, and starts from 2005 with lower and higher arrows to press. The arrows allow for one monthly increments only. There is no fast scroll through anywhere. I have to get to 1953 but the system times out long before, even with rapid tapping. What do I do? I am overseas at present so cannot visit my branch.

  2. Hello,

My Thai wife and I are off to Spain for a while. She has a Thai driving license, but as Thailand has not signed up to some reciprocal treaty she will be unable to exchange this for a Spanish license. The Philippines however are party to this treaty and one can exchange a Filipino license. Would it be possible for my wife to obtain a driving license from The Philippines? And how could this be done? Is there some knowledgeable person living within The Philippines that would be prepared to assist?

    I thank you all.

  3. It would only be the airlines responsibility to take one out of the country IF the person was in the country. The airline would incur financial penalties possibly, only if they had carried the person to the country and the airline knew the person would probably be refused entry.

This person would be showing the airline that he would be departing the country before he would be considered illegal. Therefore, the signing of an agreement as stated above is immaterial and would not be required. This person would be entering the country once again to take up his return AF flight via either a land border or another airline. This is NOT the responsibility of AF.

  4. What has not been said in words is with an Air Asia or similar ticket out of the country within 30 days of arrival will allow AF to let you board. They can see that you will in all probability be allowed to enter Thailand. As far as your return ticket via AF is concerned it is of no importance as to when it is. They can see that you will be departing Thailand earlier than the scheduled AF flight and allow you to board , the fact that you may not be able to return to Thailand to take up this return portion flight is of no concern to AF. They have your money and will resell your seat should you not turn up at the airport. So purchase a cheap ticket out of Thailand as you have been advised and do not alter your AF ticket in any way.

I do use the routing facility of the BKB London by having my UK Bank transfer monies to them when I require. However, if I choose to have DHS pension paid direct and wish to use the BKB London method, what details do I supply on the form? At present I use a long account number that incorporates my Thai account number and some bank code if I remember correctly. No address. I assume a bank address is required on the form.

My UK bank account was obtained before I departed the UK. I am aware that I could have the DHS pension paid into this UK Bank account, but this is not my issue as things change. Thank you.

What BANK address, if any, does one put onto the DHS form if requesting them to pay pension into BKB London. As no account would be held at the London branch and only rerouting funds is taking place, would the address be the London branch or Thailand branch to satisfy the DHS.

  7. Hello to All with special mention on this forum topic to Ubanjoe. What is the ruling for a born and bred Thai now entering Thailand on a NON-THAI passport with a Thai O visa, and extensions, with regards work? Would they now have to report to immigration every 90 days as is the norm for a foreigner? And would they also have to abide by the no work without work permit law? Or are they exempt because they were Thai at birth?

No issues here to report; the question just arose in conversation.

Thanks in advance for shining some light on the subject.

  8. Thanks Terry. We will now have to find out where the Social Security Office is in Rayong and ask some questions. Even after living here for many a year I did not know there was such a thing as a Department of Social Security. Stupid of me really as there had to be.

  9. My wife has mentioned that there is a scheme to voluntarily pay into a Government Health Insurance. I guess it has to be similar to the UK Nat. Ins.. Thais in employment are enrolled, with employers paying 50% of the monthly subscription, as I understand. My wife has no job other than being a housewife, and although does work hard at that, I believe is not recognised as paid employment in Thailand. As should be the case in a 19 year marriage, my money is her money and v.v. and all accounts are joint, so no financial remuneration is given for just being a housewife. We are wishing for my wife to join and pay into this scheme voluntarily but do not know what Government Department to go along to to find further information. We live in Ban Chang, Rayong and in no way are referring to the 30 Baht Scheme. Does anyone have any knowledge to impart please.
