My Honda was converted last year close to Cha-Am and I did 18,000km with it. So far I am pretty satisfied with it.
The donut tank type is space saving. Choose the biggest tank available as you can use 80percent of the volume only.
Mine is 54l, so usable volume is approx 44l, which is good for 380km with my 2.4l engine.
km costs are cut down to half, so it pays back pretty fast

Carrymore has an agent in Cha-am, they can also supply the towing hitch/bar.
I tried to contact carrymore by email and phone many times, no success at all.

trailers seem to get more-and-more popular in thailand.
respo was mentioned already, there is winner in udon, german trailer in pattaya and upbeat in bkk.
google will find the related websites easily.
tax and compulsory is a minor amount.
i hope to get my bike trailer delivered next week.

There is a company in CM that will transport the bike 800 - 1000 Bt overnight. Fully insured, Native English speakers as an option. (PM me if you want their number)
Do they transport bike bikes too?
I would appreciate to get their contact number.

I have 3 vehicles registered in my name.
Each time a signed copy of passport was required and the certificate of residence. Work permit respective Yellow Book have the same function to proove your adress, which will be registered in the vehicle documents. Makes sense, doesn't it?

This green book issue had been debated many times here. You really should ask yourself, do you really want to own a vehicle that is not legal to be on the road, and are you willing to deal with the consequence of that, which is having your motorcycle confiscated?
No green book means it has not been properly registered, so it is not legal, plate or no plate, tax sticker or no tax sticker. Would you ride an illegal vehicle in your home country? Many will jump in and say having paid import papers makes it legal, the simple fact is it doesn't.
You may ride it for years without a book and be stopped many times and pay the bribes, but it only takes one police man who doesn't like you or had a fight with his wife or wants your bike or (despite people on this forum saying it is not possible) he is just an honest cop who prides himself on upholding the law, and they take your bike from you. Would you just shrug your shoulders and say "well I had it coming since it was illegal" or would you come on this forum and complain how some "corrupt" cops stole your bike from you just because you didn't have a green book?
exactly, good and clear statement

thank you all for the information

a both-foreign couple will apply for extension of stay retirement for him and dependend visa for her.
The conditions for his visa are known.
For the wife's dependend visa a marriage certificate might be necessary, although both carry the same family name.
Is a translation of the marriage certificate to english and/or thai necessary? Must this document be verified, if yes by whom?

OMG!
booking the Dusit Thani Hotel but 2,000THB for 230km in private car is too expensive, not considering that the guy needs to go back as well.

@inthake8:
would be nice to read your report after you will have returned. i.e. driving times, hotels etc
have a safe trip!

are you sure that you do not look to the "valid from" - "valid to" cells?
usually below these figures there is a cell "duration of stay" in days

How many Km per liter do you get?
8.5km/l with CRV 2.4l
km costs approx half of E10

Finally I made up the decision and installed LPG in my CR-V, using a socalled donut tank in the hollow for spare wheel.
The system switches automatically between 91 and LPG, I was not able to recognize it, just can see it at the display.
Lets see if Murphey's law will occur towards presence of a spare wheel.

I had problems with my Dell laptop, which I bought in China approx 2 years ago.
So I called Dell in Bangkok on tuesday morning. It looked like the problem might be the harddisc and I told Dell, that the motherboard might have another problem with the sound.
I was told that I would need thai warranty extension for 1 year service in Thailand, costs around 3.500 THB, otherwise I would have guarantee on parts only.
I agreed and was informed that the engineer will call me the next day (wednesday) before lunch.
As announced I received his call yesterday around 9AM, saying he will be at my place around 4PM. He arrived at 15:30 and replaced harddisc and motherboard including transfer of OS, programs and my data.
Yesterday evening my laptop was working again.
Called service in BKK at tuesday morning, had it repaired wednesday eve in Hua Hin.
Thats what I call service, definitely my next computer will be a Dell after such experience.

I had been there at a weekday afternoon. No doctor available.
Every upcountry hospital is better organized.
They are still far away from the level of other branches, except their charges.

Guy near me has had the 'doughnut' tank fitted in his CRV. Cost 38,000 Baht. The conversion's start at around 10,000 Baht. You pay your money ................................................ I'm looking to get my 2.7 Fortuner converted. A tank to be placed where the spare wheel currently is. Has anyone got any info regarding this. Thanks.
It would be interesting to know where your neighbour got it done and what is his experience.

My advice - get the flash cards AND the book. They'll probably complement each other nicely.
correct, they are definitly a helpful tool.
you can order them online at www.lannainnovation.com or www.howtolearnthai.com, in shops they are 250 THB each set
understanding tone classes is essential for further learning progress

is any of the mentioned therapists "braking bones"?

The Thais understand very well the concept of nationality (sanchart) versus ethnicity (cheuachart).
The OP confuses the two.
He is "sanchart" British but "cheuachart" English.
Thai immigration couldn't care less what your "cheuachart" is...it's all about the passport you hold.
thats the best answer towards the 90days reporting at immigration.
it all depends what the threadstarter wants from immigration
1) just a stamp on a piece of paper
or
2) a discussion with IO, in that case I suggest you print out the whole thread to keep the officer fully informed

just emailed with my friend back home, he is still doing LPG convertions.
None of the 60 taxis with 2,0 engine survived more than 100k km (1-2 years use) with LPG. all burned valves, some burned head seats, some burned pistons
that does not sound good
I wonder if the 2.4l engine will be better for modification, as compression is lower than the 2.0l
